I've been coming here the past 2 years since it's super close to my house. I am always satisfied every time I get my nails done here. Erik is amazing at acrylic and Gel-X nails. I am very picky about the shape of my nails. I don't like coffin nails since they look weird on my hands and square nails are too bulky for me. Erik always shapes my nails perfectly into the shape I want, which is in between a square and coffin shape. When I do gel nails, Bill is super nice and makes sure I end up liking the color. I went here yesterday for the first time. Got a cute gel mani for Halloween. I had a younger technician, and what stood out the most for me was how 3 or 4 of the more seasoned technicians came by to check her work periodically throughout the process. You could tell from their tone that they were praising her for everything she was doing right instead of chiding her for the little imperfections. I thought that was really cool. This young lady is going to grow and continue to get better at her craft because she's in such a supportive work environment. They're giving her the tools she needs to succeed and encouraging her along the way. I'll definitely be back! read more

I don't know what happened to Uptown spa but sadly I won't be returning. I do know business has been slow for them lately because every time I've walked in, the place is empty. This is odd because, prior to the ownership change, they were always busy and the job they would do always kept me coming back. Now, the work they do is not even close to mediocre. It pains me to say this since I've been going to them for years already but paying for half painted nails is not acceptable. With all this competition, you would think they would at least try to improve. They're not busy anymore either so there's no excuse for that. In fact, they were so much better when they were busy! I really am shocked at how my favorite nail salon is such a horrible one now. Uptown spa's location is great and they are very clean, but their service does not match the result. There have been times I merely trusted their work and went home only to see them do a horrible job and not clean up the excess manicure. Also, their gel nails used to last 3 weeks; now it doesn't even last a week without chipping! I miss how professional and outstanding the spa I once loved use to be. The previous owner would make sure everyone was happy and would go above and beyond to keep clients coming back. It upsets me that the new ownership doesn't care about their customers, which is why I will never step foot at this spa ever again. read more

I really wanted to love this place, just because everyone here is so genuinely nice. My favorite is Beau (I'm not sure if that's how he spells his name so I'm sorry if I'm wrong!) But Erik, and the lady who does the waxes, are both so incredibly nice too. I gave them many many many tries. But, for some reason, their gel polishes always chip after a week or two, sometimes even after a couple of days. I don't know if it's because of the quality of their gel, or maybe because the polishes are a bit too old? But Beau, who I used to go to regularly, always tried his best to make sure they would be locked in and good to go for at least 2-3 weeks, but that would never be the case. There would be always one nail chipped after the first week or so. The pedicures are great, no complaints about that. I loved how they would shape my nails! They double dip their wax sticks, so I don't think I'll be back for that either. It sucks because the lady who does it always asks me to make sure she went over everything, and will go over any spots you want her to. She's so so nice! In the end, I just can't keep coming back even though I love the staff. I truly think it's because of their polishes, cause they don't do anything else wrong. Gels at other salons last me for at least 2-3 weeks with no trouble. read more

I used to love this place but I am completely unsatisfied with their service today. My friend and I came in the afternoon while it was empty. I asked for gel nails and a pedi. First of all, the lady I had didn't even paint my nails all the way from the bottom. I thought she was gonna cover it as she went on but she didn't. She didn't once stop to ask if what I had was okay either. She just kept going. Then I only asked for a glitter fade on the white (ring and thumb) and she insisted that it looked better on all the nails. The "fade" was terrible!! She just bunched it all on my tips. I could have done that. My friend asked for silver strips and they used glitter instead. Terrible work. Super sloppy. On top of all that, they had more people come in so they rushed to get to the other customers! Excuse me, we were here first, you give us your FULL attention until we are done. DO NOT skimp on your service just to get to others. Completely unprofessional. I felt completely rushed at the end, I absolutely HATE my nails and I'm never coming back ever again. read more

Don't get your dip powder done here! - Instead of soaking off my previous powder, nail tech used a drill and took layers of my real nail off. - They don't dip, they apply it like acrylic with a brush. So messy - Nail tech cut every single one of my fingers by filing them too hard on the skin - Nail tech did not smooth and clean nails before top coat, causing bubbles and peeling after 3 days. - Nails are inconsistent lengths and shapes. - Nails filed almost completely flat instead of natural curved shape - They do not do a standard manicure, so cuticles look terrible - Pedicure chipped after 3 days Complete waste of my money. I got them done before vacation and could not go back to fix them. But they would have had to completely redo them. Awful experience. read more

I can't speak for their acrylics, but they do a great job on gel manicures, and for only $25. They're pretty accommodating of last minute appointments, like an hour or so ahead of time. But you'll occasionally have to wait 10-20 minutes for them to finish someone else's nails and get started on yours, which isn't the biggest deal, it just means you shouldn't make strict plans around your nail appointment. The only con about this salon is that their OPI gel nail polish selection is lacking. And the colors they do have are old and should be replaced. I'll admit they have a great selection from DND, etc, but those brands don't last nearly as long or stay as fresh looking as OPI's gel. read more

Felt terrible cheating on my favorite nail salon when I ventured out last month. When I returned, Cynthia clearly knew I got suckered in trying out a new salon; I felt guilty. But all was forgiven in the end. I came in to get my nails done by Cynthia who once again, has done a fantastic job!! And I came out with a pedicure, and eyelash extensions. It's like walking into Target or a Costco and walking out with a shopping cart full of goodies. Donna, on pedicure was smooth and quite the sweet gal. She's very detailed and gets into the pedicure and massage. Sina, on eyelash extensions was gentle and precise. There were moments my eyes stung from the glue, which was typical, but I sucked it up and only lasted a few minutes. I'm so thrilled with my decision and they helped me make the right choice as well. This place was even better than I had expected, after reading other reviews. Parking was easy the greeting when I walked in made the whole place just seem very welcoming. The decor is really nice - it's a mid-size place with about 8 spa chairs and a few non-spa chairs. They also have a complimentary mini fridge full of soda, water and chips. The prices at a place like this are more than reasonable - basically, it's on par with other nail salons and yet the service is way better. The service here was amazing. I got the deluxe mani/pedi from Ivy - she took her time to make sure that my nails were done perfectly. The scrub and massages for my arms and legs were so soothing as well; I could have stayed in that chair forever. Ivy also helped wax my eyebrows; I'm very picky about who I go to for eyebrow shaping but Ivy did a wonderful job. Overall, my experience here was more than I could have hoped for. This is now the only nail salon I'll go to, even if it is a little bit of a drive for me. If you're looking for a new place to try for nails, waxing, etc., this is the place to go. read more

Took my girlfriend here for a acrylic manicure and pedicure after hell of a fight. I've never been to a nail salon before but after 12mins of sitting at the waiting area we were greeted by the new manager Erik. We don't know what the old owner did but We could tell that he's trying pretty hard please us. He was patient and took his time to make sure each client was satisfy with their service. (I was annoyed after a while, but cant blame the guy for trying to do the right thing) Anyways one and a half hour later, my girl walked out happier than she was walked in I don't care the $85 I blew on nails (after dropping a fat tip).
