You can tell they really like the menu and enjoy eating the food they serve. They have a lot of great options to try for breakfast, brunch, etc. The Belgian waffle has got to be one of the best waffles I've had in a long time. It was fluffy and the sugar melts in your mouth. Their seasoned home fries were a great pairing for this hollandaise deliciousness.

The staff is super friendly and I appreciate the loyalty cards for coffee and bread. The bakery itself is small but so quaint being in an old historical house. If you haven't tried With the Grain, you're missing out on a Guelph experience.

Highly recommend for all special occasion cakes and bakery items! Can't wait to book my other daughters 2nd birthday cake! Thank you so much to the whole staff! You truly are a gift to us!

Great location and customer service…read more Scones: Decent. A little sweet (which I like), served with whipped cream and strawberry jam. Fruit: The fruit was the best part of all our meals here. It was so fresh and sweet, which I thought would be difficult to find outside of California! I also enjoyed it with cottage cheese, which is not so common at breakfast spots in California unfortunately. Tea: The tea is enjoyable but pretty average when compared to bougier tea spots like The Bruce in Stratford. It's not clear how long I should let it steep for for optimal flavor. I preferred the Winter Dream green tea, which was warm and cozy, slightly sweet. I also preferred the McCrae over the Boathouse blend. The Boathouse blend was a little basic for me, and the McCrae had a slight sweetness that I enjoyed. High Tea: Average - a good price and pleasant experience, especially if the weather is nice enough to eat outside (and catch a bald eagle flying by!). My favorite dessert was the carrot cake cupcake. Ice Cream: Yes, ice cream and tea is definitely a good idea! The banana cream pie tastes like your classic Runts banana flavor (the original banana that got wiped out) and the black cherry has plenty of big cherry pieces. Great servings, and we loved that they served them in reusable bowls instead of disposable ones. Would definitely come again!

If you follow the route, it leads to another bigger parking lot. Parking is free! Reservations are highly recommended. My guest and I made a reservation for two for 1:30pm. It was very busy when we walked in. We got a table right by the door. There were artwork and paintings hung all around the cafe - it was cute. I ordered an afternoon tea set, as well as an extra breakfast burrito for my guest and I to share. There is a tea menu to look at all the various options they have. It was nice to see that they had many options to choose. Our set came with mini sandwiches, scones and dessert and fruits. I would definitely come back to visit - it would be nice to come in the summer and book a table out on their patio.

It was pouring out so we popped in for a hot drink. The tables were full but we sat on the stools at the window. We had turmeric lattes which were a bit too strong and chalky for me but hubby liked his. There is one washroom and it was clean enough. Great place to stop for a drink or quick bite.

There is only one bathroom and the line gets quite long since people (read not patrons) come in to use this bathroom. They have many vegan options. There was a tofu bon mi and a tofu TLT sandwich. Both great, but don't come with anything. I also ordered a blueberry bar dessert and it was great. The lavender lemondade was a miss. Just yellow water. I will try them again for the plant based options.

Let me just say yum. Not sure if these ingredients are actually good but they taste pretty tasty…read more The soup was creamy and the bread fresh and buttery. The butternut taste was spot on and it was super comforting. The pizza was pretty good: the crust very pillowy and the sauce meh. The actual like main dough was super thin which was strange but tasted kinda good. We also got a slice of cake that was super rich and triple chocolate. The food was pretty good and I will say taste around the same as like 3 years ago. Our server, Brendan, was pretty nice and we did get our food very quickly considering how busy it was. I will say that they put their freaking cook book everywhere. It is on. The tables and in the decor( which is pretty nice). Like I would honestly say maybe tone it down a little wow. I just wonder are those actually real or are the like just covers cause they have about 1 million just sitting around. So pretty much that and the price is what takes off a star. So we actually came in their anniversary and got like a slightly cheaper version but the normal prices are not cheap. It's not that bad just inflation I guess

The appetizers (calamari, mozza sticks, and wings) were great! Very solid choices although personally the wings (medium) were a little too sweet for us. Service was ok but the waitress did seem a bit stressed. The mains, however, were a bit disappointing. The burgers were just ok, my halloumi in the halloumi salad was burnt (although the salad itself was great), and the children's cheese sandwich was also burnt. The fish & chips were very oily. Usually I really want to like and rate local establishments well as I am a local myself, but burnt food is a no-no and unfortunately with kids I don't really have the time to ask for a remake. Great vibes for a good beer though.
