I ordered the Fig Sandwich and the Fancy Pants Sando because I could not decide between the two as they both sounded very unique in different ways. I called the place up and arranged to come pick the food up. The person on the phone was very thoughtful in keeping in mind at what time I would arrive so he could arrange for the sandwich to be toasted at the right time. I appreciate small details like that. When I arrived, I noticed there were several tables and a bar where you can essentially get brews and food. I noticed they had several beers on tap which I was very curious about, but unfortunately did not have time to sit down and eat at this establishment. The person at the bar was extremely friendly and made me feel very welcome. The two sandwiches came up to $40ish. I brought the sandwiches home and first tried a few bites of the Fancy Pants Sando. I will have to say it was the better of the two sandwiches. I appreciated the goat cheese in the sandwich and the mix of different ingredients, but it was not something I would consider to be a great sandwich, at least not for me. Others might find it pleasant, but I did not care for it much. The fig sandwich was the one I was more excited about and expected some sweetness to be cut down by the bacon. I don't think it was a perfect balance between the two, and I got a tad much of the overwhelming sweetness of the figs in this sandwich. Again, others might enjoy it, but I didn't care for it. I really wanted to give this place a great review, but unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. The beer looks fun though and might be a good reason to give this place a try, and you may enjoy their sandwiches and many people have. For me, that's a no-go.

The Christmas Tree Ale turned out so flavorful and unlike any beer I've ever tried. How about a lobster gruit? Don't knock it till you try it. They have a spacious, dog-friendly outdoor patio to enjoy the warm weather. An in-house food menu is available and there's also a pizza shop next door. P.S. Jess is the best!

Woo! Lots of unique beer creations offered up here which can make the decision making challenging! But in the end we got two different beers which we really enjoyed a lot! The Castor Muncher Coffee Kolsch was easily our favorite and was such a treat to have! Light and airy to drink just like how a kolsch is this version also has coffee notes to it which just made it out of this world! The other beer was the GenusTone. A lager which is practically my "go to" beer for anything anymore. This lager didn't disappoint and was great to drink... teasing the temptation to have more than one! Light, crisp and a bit bready made this everything a good lager should have! As I said there are really unusual and creative choices at Genus which I think in order explore their beer menu in the best way possible is to check in every few weeks as they are bound to have something great on tap!

Every contact I've had with Grain Shed employees has been more than pleasant; they truly seem to enjoy working there, and take good care of their customers. I need to shout out to Toby and Audrey before I go on. They each provided 110% on customer service, being personable and making sure we left happy. On 2 separate trips to Spokane, I've visited the Grain Shed 3 and 4 times over the course of 3 days (yes, if you do the math, I went twice in 1 day, and the restaurant was NOT just around the corner!) Everything I've tried is delish, but in case you have to limit yourself, I highly recommend the OG, the beets and feta toast, the bread flight with sauces and cheese, the molasses ginger cookie, and maybe a chocolate croissant. I've heard their bread pudding and pumpkin pie (holiday special) are out of this world! I tried to get over to listen to their live music before leaving town, but still need to squeeze that into my schedule. Travelers: save space in your luggage for a loaf of bread. Sadly, no shipping at this time, but I'm waiting for it! This SoCal resident is officially The Grain Shed's #1 fan. I dare any of you to try to take away my title!

The Grain Shed does a farm to table model and is a bakery and brewery. I got a snack here along with a beer and left quite satisfied. I got a Grilled Cheese Sandwich on some of their house made bread with some Cheddar, Swiss and Provolone cheese. The exact name for this sandwich is the Cheesy Toastie. And of course moving on to the beer... the primary motivator to come here. I got the Kölsch beer here called Field Trip. I do love a good Kölsch as they are nice, light bodied beers. And they are especially nice in the summertime. Flavor features in this beer is maltiness, breadiness, a bit of hoppiness and a dry finish. Another beer that Steve and I tried was the INWPA which was a Pale Ale. It was also a nice light bodied beer which again hit the spot despite it being a different drinking session. Flavor characteristics in this beer is citrus, a yeastiness, hoppiness and a biscuity trait. Good beers and sandwiches and we are aiming for a return whenever we are in Spokane again.

Nick was helpful and detailed in guiding us with the menu and beer choices. The ambiance is perfect. Causal and open for games and socializing. I love that they have high seating, low seating and comfortable seating. They also have outdoor seating with wooden benches and an awning for a warmer day. We stayed inside due to cooler weather. I ordered the Korean bowl with chicken which was phenomenal! The sauce and spices were absolutely delish and the textures were awesome! I would highly recommend! The beers were decent as well and they have good options. Sadly they were out of a sour beer (day before) but they have everything from sours, IPAs to stouts. Definitely worth a visit! Food/drinks: I did not try any of the food here, but we went during their cereal beer event and so I tried two of those and a few different beers in a flight. I'm not a huge beer person anymore - just makes me feel so full. However, the cereal beers were good and really fun! I enjoyed them. They also have cider and wine for people who don't want to drink beer and root beer floats for kids! Service: everyone was really great. They were patient when we were deciding what we wanted and very accommodating. We really like this place and will be going back!
