I've been coming to this nail salon for about 2 years now. I've had just about everyone working there do my manicures and pedicures and I've never once had a bad experience. I usually get dip powder and without tip it ranges between $35-$40 depending on what you get. Pretty reasonably priced considering the great service and fantastic job done! Sometimes they're busy but just make an appointment the day before and you don't wait at all! I definitely recommend this place and will continue to come back! read more

Don't purchase a gift certificate here, don't give them your business either. Go over to Venus Nails in the shopping center at the next block for relaxing and equal treatment. "Upscale" did not honor my $35 balance of my gift certificate & Stephanie, the rude manager whom is probably the owner also was extremely rude to me. She made my experience miserable instead of relaxing and I had to pay the exact amount that my gift certificate was for $35, even though they were already prepaid for the service! Manager discriminated against me after she looked at me & did not recognize me as a regular customer. I recommend that you walk away from this poor establishment. This place, along with the owner, is horrible. They DO NOT honor gift certificates that you purchase, even when you show them the proof that you purchased it. I would have left it there, but unfortunately, there's more to add. Several weeks ago I went for a pedicure, the nail tech took a huge piece of skin out of my toe. I tried not to make an issue of it, but did show here (you couldn't miss it, it was bleeding profusely). I got home and rinsed and disinfected it and then used a topical antibiotic. It still got infected, which only means they are using dirty tools. Please go elsewhere, these awful business owners don't learn unless you hit them where it counts - their pockets. On March 14th, 2023 I was at this establishment to receive the following services: A pedicure and gel manicure. I completed my pedicure then went on to the manicure when I realized the nail technician that I was given was not properly trained on how to do nails, did not have a certificate to be authorized to do the job, and went on to physically pull my skin off of my finger. I politely asked her to discontinue the service and requested to be checked out/pay. At the register, I was met by the female and male owners--they asked me to pay $45, however when I asked what the extra $10 charge was for, I was met with severe aggression and shouting from both owners commenced in both English and Vietnamese. I was then told I had to pay the $45 or else I could not leave--again, without an explanation of the additional charge which was all I was seeking clarity for. The female owner then pushed me (as seen on the spa's camera footage) and locked the door behind me as if I was planning on leaving without paying, I again assured the owner that I was not planning on leaving without paying and that I simply wanted to understand what the additional charge was for, when she shouted at me in front of all of her customers "you are just cheap you don't want to pay money!". Even though I had made 3 prior visits to this same salon with no issues--when I mentioned this, the owner told me "LIAR, YOU COME 2 TIME". Anyway, due to the physical assault I called the police as I felt I was in immediate danger, and ended up paying the full amount. The police told me to file a police report in person (which I did as of 3/15/23) and report the incident to the BBB. I am shocked by some of the reviews here BUT we all know the complainers will always POST and those that LOVE this Nail spa don't want the rest of you to crowd up our favorite Nail Spa! I come every 3 weeks and MAKE AN APPOINTMENT ... because the best businesses work best by appointment!! Linda and Kevin and the whole staff work long hours and do an excellent job. I have been going to this nail spa for years as I live down the street, but i will NEVER be going back. I have never been treated so disrespectfully on the phone by an employee. I was hung up on not once, but twice after asking if they would be able to fix my nails that I got done two days ago and almost all of my polish has peeled off. Not only were my nails not done correctly and started chipping after two days, but I was not respected as a customer. I believe the management changed or they completely swapped out their employees. Their customer service has definitely gotten better! Their sanitation/hygiene is still off. I went to get a full set of acrylics with gel polish for $40 which was great! They were very careful with my nails and did an amazing job! I was very happy with them. After approximately a week of having them, they started to chip. The chipping was not anything major, nor too visible so I wasn't minding it. I waited for 2 total weeks to pass by until I went to get them taken off. When I went to get them off, they gave me a bowl of acetone to soak my nails. The clear glass bowl was very dirty and was obviously used by a previous customer. The acetone was foggy before I placed my fingers in it, and it had little chips of hot pink nail polish in it. My nails were a nude color so I definitely knew that the junk in that bowl was not from me. I completely understand the convenience of killing two birds with one stone. But placing my fingers in the same bowl of acetone as a stranger's, kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I know they work blood, sweat and tears for their money!!! So I give them credit for their hard work that they put in, and I again wanted to acknowledge their great customer service and attention to detail when it comes to filing and polishing nails. However I went back today and although the atmosphere has drastically changed (not for the better), the technician did an excellent job on my pedicure. I used to like this place when they first opened, but was incredibly disappointed after my last visit. The prices listed are a complete LIE and the 20% off signs are still hung up outside, but they won't let you use the discount. Last time I went for a manicure and pedicure and they mentioned all of these add ons that I did not get. For example, I was told it was $5 extra to take off my shellac, but I didn't have shellac on when I came in. I went back and forth trying to make a decision on which salon I should go to for my nails. One of the technicians at another salon did not have the time due to it being the day after Thanksgiving, so she was on vacation. The pedicure at this place was okay, on a scale of 1-10, I would say a 6.5/7. But my complaint is about what people will see everyday... My hands!! Where do I begin with this nightmare at Upscale Day Spa Nails, the technician that I got, I do not know his name, however, I will upload a picture, was very unprofessional, I remember overhearing another customers conversation right beside me in which one of her friends boyfriend has 7 kids and her friend has 6 kids, and the tecnician said that she "Should have kept her fuc**** legs closed." Shocked, but I sat there as he did my nails. Some of the acrylic he put on my fingers didnt go all the way up to my cuticle, so even though this is a fresh full set as of 11/28/2015, some nails looked as if I needed a fill in already! Painting them with a color is even worse, because it shows the detail, so I told him not to polish them. Usually when they find the match for putting on a nail, they are numbered, and they just go ahead and take out 2 of the same numbers so it will be an easier process for the next hand, I feel as if my middle finger nails do not match. Not to mention he constantly repeated "Relax", sorry for being so tense, you have already accidentally drilled about 4 of my fingers.. Thanks to you, the day after my cuticles are sore! Also he claimed he gave me the discount of 20% which was glowing bright in the window, but he did not and I was not going to argue with him. I usually tip $5-10, but I tipped nothing on this visit. I have read reviews from them that they do not honor the discount, and I thought to myself," If they do a good job, I really dont care." Wished I would have waited for the other technician to come back from vacation. I hate my damn nails and cannot wait to soak them off in a week or so, just wanted to some what get my moneys worth! I just wanted to treat myself, since I have my Dad's hands and I am a nail biter, and look what happened. I promise I will never return. read more

The owner is so rude, I did love the place a lot because I'm so busy and it's hard for me to schedule appointments, so they were very flexible and really did a good job accept when the guy did my nails, very often he over filed my nails and they didn't last long. This particular day my daughter was with , she asked me if I liked my nails, l said not really because he has over filed my nails and I don't think I will be coming back. The owner was sitting right next to me doing my daughters nails. The owner Linda is such a sweet woman who has improved the salon greatly since she took over with her husband Ken. Kevin, who they say is a partial owner there, was sitting in the front & did not acknowledge me either. I have been here before & he has done the same thing. He can have a poor attitude at times. I will not be going back. I have tipped them well, even though the guy named Lucky, did a poor job on my nails. There are too many nail salons to patronize one who doesn't value customers. I arrived at close to 7pm all I wanted was my feet done and I would have spent the extra money and got a full set if they could have squeezed it in. Then the lady tells me find your polish I just walked the hell out. My first thought is your not going to do A rush job on my feet because you want to go home. Now this is a place I've gone to plenty of times even before these people took it over and I'm done I will NEVER EVER spend money here again I don't care who manages this place. The shellac pedicure is a little on the pricey side but their shellac manicure is a comparable price to other local nail salons. The shellac manicure lasted forever!! I almost didn't come here bc of the bad reviews but I did bc my daughter and I wanted a quick pedicure for a quick mommy and daughter day out. I thought the service was great and the pedicures were great. They were wonderful with my daughter and charged me exactly What I expected. I took one star off bc the cheapest pedicure was around $32 (my daughter is 5 and was only $16). I just moved here but the pedicures where I go start at $22. I loved this place when they first opened but it is awful now! I used to go every two weeks and get a manicure (French gel) and a premium pedicure. They always gave me the 20% discount which I gave back as a tip. Then it became harder and harder to get the discount even though there is a sign in the window. But, I liked my nails so I kept going. But after my last trip, I won't ever go back! The girl that did my pedicure did a horrible job. I mean horrible! But...that is not the reason I'm never going back. Well, I came in and the manager, Kevin was extremely rude. He acted like he was doing me a favor by doing my nails. He also speaks very poor and broken English. I have a Hispanic friend who is trying to learn English and she takes classes at Wake Tech to learn. Kevin needs to go to school But most of all, this place is nasty. I am in the healthcare field so I notice these things. They reuse files, buffers, and anything they can. While I was waiting to use the ladies room I noticed some one taking the paraffin wax that they put in plastic bags and use on peoples hands and feet, crumble it up, and put it back in the paraffin bath to reuse. When she saw me watching her she quickly closed the curtain. When they finished doing a manicure the filings left on the counter were just left on the counter But, the real clincher was looking at the lady getting a pedi next to me, She had toe fungus really bad and it was very obvious. There was no way they didn't see it but they preformed the service anyway. I saw their sanitation habits and they were unacceptable. Services should not be preformed on a customer with fungus that bad and I'm sure they are not competent enough to clean it up. Fungus is spread very easily from one person to another so, when you get people and places who are nasty, you will get fungus too! They are greedy and do not care. All I can say is NASTY, NASTY, NASTY! If you want fungus, ect... go there. I walked out when I saw the woman with the fungus getting a service done. THERE IS A FUNGUS AMONG US ! read more
