I took a chance on this place for lunch and I'm thrilled that I did. What a fantastic experience. A traditional family owned east coast deli experience. So many delicious things to choose from - bagels, smoked fish, various salads, meats, cheeses, and more. I picked up the corned beef hash (excellent, but would like a bit more crisp), and a salami sandwich on a Supreme bagel (very tasty; a perfect bagel packed high with toppings, but difficult to eat). I ordered online for pick up and immediately headed to the store. My order was ready when I arrive (within 10 minutes of ordering). I would be back in a heartbeat if I lived closer.

Easily being added to my Chicagoland top bagels shortlist to visit! Upper Crust Bagels is a small bagel and deli shop that has some mighty good flavors. I visited on a Sunday, late morning, and didn't have to wait long at all to order. The staff hustle to turn orders around to free up space inside. I ordered the Bacon, Egg & Cheese on a Sesame bagel and my fiancé ordered the Herbed Multigrain with Lox Cream Cheese. While the filling may not look to be a lot, the flavor really burst to life while eating. I will be thinking of my Bacon, Egg & Cheese bagel all week; it was that good! We both left feeling impressed by the fresh flavors, speedy service, variety of flavors/offerings, and down to earth staff. I highly recommend checking out Upper Crust Bagels at either their Northbrook or Deerfield locations. You will NOT to disappointed!

The best in Chicagoland. Great service, bagels, and lox. Upper Crust has been a staple in my family for years. Looking forward to coming back!

This place is hustling and bustling on a Sunday morning. We always saw this place from the outside and didn't look like much, but when you get inside it's a whole other world. Tons of options of bagels and fillings, including lox and onions, chorizo, eggs and cheese, etc. They also sell fish and deli meats by the weight - feels like you're in New York City or something. We got the chorizo eggs and cheese breakfast sandwich, which was delicious. The lox and onions sandwich was good too but maybe even better deconstructed to really taste the lox. All in all, we want to try this place again soon - so many options!

Einstein Bros., A bajers-dozen bagels (13) are $14, and 6 bagels with a half pound of lox cream cheese, $12.

I'm sorry, I'm done. Long-time Upper Crust customer almost gagged this morning seeing the establishment raised it's prices. A dozen bagels, TWELVE BAGELS, now $17.50. That's more expensive than Once Upon A Bagel in HP. Maybe their using small diamonds rather than sesame seeds now? Unless consumers write it call, day something, you can expect a $20 dozen pretty soon. Blew family out of your door gang. Sorry, not sorry. The Baker's Dozen from Einstein Brothers at $14, are far better bagel at a far better price.

A hidden gem in Deerfield for fresh & delicious bagels. This local shop serves deli, bagels, cookies, amazing banana bread, breakfast sandwiches & more! I ordered a Bacon, Egg & Cheese on an Egg bagel, Cinnamon Raisin bagel with Strawberry cream cheese & Cucumber, Tomato, Red Onion & Scallion Cream Cheese on a Onion bagel. They were all delicious & had the perfect amount of cream cheese & toppings. The service & staff are great, make sure to get there early because it gets packed!

My husband and discovered this place early afternoon this past Saturday. I wasn't sure what to think, because it's a bit of a hole in the wall with the entrance at the back of the building. It's a small space with tons of local traffic flowing in and out. Several reviewers have said that the staff is rude, I'd just call it indifferent. It was hard to catch the eye of anyone to place an order. My husband and I ordered breakfast sandwiches - I ordered the turkey pastrami with egg and cheese on a whole wheat herb bagel and he had the brisket with egg and cheese on an everything bagel. Now think about it, they didn't toast the bagels or ask if we wanted them toasted - I guess we will have to request this next time. The bagels were very good and the meats on the sandwiches were tasty as well. The establishment was busy and a big confusing as to who was in line or being helped. We made it through though, and did enjoy our mid-morning breakfast. Out breakfast sandwiches were around $6 each, but their other regular sandwiches run around the ten dollar mark. They have a variety of meats and deli salads to choose from, bagels and Challah, and a few sweets like black & white cookies and rugelach.

I've been here 9 years and never knew this place was here, what a hidden gem. Stopped by midday on a Saturday to grab brunch. I opted for the corned beef egg cheese on an everything bagel, it was delicious. This place I would say is NY style, and does a swift business based on traffic in and out. I parked just outside the shop at one of the table chairs provided and enjoyed my meal in nice weather. There are plenty of yummy options to consider for future visits.

"The Sesame" is a delicious Turkey and Swiss sandwich.

Let me introduce you to my new favorite lunch place in all of Deerfield - Upper Crust Bagels! The bagels are excellent. But this place has much more to offer than just bagels. It is a deli, and offers a wide variety of sandwiches. They have a couple of glass cases filled with meats, cheeses, salads, and of course, plenty of cream cheeses. Perhaps they should change the name to Upper Crust Deli? Today, I enjoyed "The Sesame", a hot turkey and Swiss sandwich with Russian Dressing on a sesame seed bagel. It was delicious! The place is small, with 4 tables of 2; but most patrons take their food to go. The workers are friendly and hard-working. If you are in the area and looking for good food ... look no further.

Great bagels and cream cheese. Bagels as they should be, not those fluffy things Einstein's calls bagels!

Once Upon a Deli - Raisin bagel with strawberry cream cheese, pre-cut into 2 halves. So good!

This was the first time that I went to Once Upon a Deli.  It's located in a strip mall just 2…read morestores to the left of Dairy Queen, which I had patronized many times over the years.  Somehow I had never noticed OUAD.  I am so happy that I finally found it! Today's visit to QUAD served 2 purposes.  As my AA miles were about to expire, I went on the AAdvantage Dining website to find a restaurant that is affiliated with the program, so that I could spend some money there so as to earn some miles before the deadline, in order to prevent my hard-earned miles from expiring.  That's the main purpose of me going to Once Upon a Deli! Of course, I went there also because of the food!  The deli was clean, and seemed very well-stocked and carried a great variety of deli food and ingredients.  The staff were very friendly and helpful.  I ordered the food to-go.  It was in the early afternoon, and I was delighted that they still happily made me an All American Breakfast Sandwich. You can pick any ways for the eggs to be cooked, and the kind of meat and cheese.  I had sunny-side-up eggs, sausage, and Swiss cheese (they ran out of Mozzarella cheese as it was already after one O'clock) on an all season bagel. There was so much yummy food!  The staff told me that they left the sandwich opened in 2 halves because the eggs were not fully cooked. That was pretty thoughtful of them.  I also ordered a raisin bagel with strawberry cream cheese. It was toasted to perfection, with a nice crispiness on the outside, and the right kind of chewiness inside. That's what a perfect bagel should be!  It had a slight sweetness because of my fruity choices.  The bagel was big and was packaged very well. I read that people had driven long distance to OUAD for their bagels.  We are so lucky that it's only a 5-to-6-minute drive from home.  I will definitely come back for more bagels.  We will try more different items from their vast menu too!  Next time, it will just be for good food, and won't be for AA miles!

The sandwiches were just okay. Pretty expensive, but every place is these days. For me, I would…read moretake a pass.

Today Is new years eve and I was nearby on errands when I saw people inside finally! Yes, it's coffee time. First of all, this place is an oasis. Better smells, better temperature, better people. Find me waiting for my trains in here whenever they're open. The professionalism here is on full display, you can tell from the obvious thought in the decor, the look of the coffee machines being used, and the excellent and friendly service. I just had a quick mocha today, I needed to warm up and this drink improved my mood right away. Made in front of me (before paying... that's respect) by a sweet lady who also hooked me up with a punch card, it was very nice. Not overly rich from the chocolate and just the right temperature. I see they make they're own pastries and have some fancy cold options for summer! I can't wait to come back and try more. I'll definitely be filling up that punch card in the coming months!
