Today was our first time eating here. Our waitress Chandra seated us immediately. The restaurant was neat and clean. We were there at an off peak time so we had the place to ourselves. They were doing a fair amount of to go orders though. We both had the 3 meat combo. I had brisket, saint louis style ribs and buffalo wings. This comes with 2 sides and cornbread. I opted to bbq baked beans and cheesy potatoes. My husband opted for dry (not tossed) wings and mac and cheese. It was also wing it Wednesday so wings were just $1.25 each. This place was so good!!! They had a really good family feel to the restaurant and the food was a little expensive but worth every penny!! The BBQ sauce was heavenly with them having a original, spicy, and a pineapple one. The pulled pork was good, the brisket was so so so good, muy muy muy bien. The things you have to get when you go here is the cheddar kielbasa ( cheddar sausage ) and the brisket, amazing with a little bit of salt. The food came out fast and you get a piece of cornbread with it and it is the best cornbread I have ever had!!! The fries were soft but not too soft and tasted so good and the Mac and cheese was just cheesy goodness and it was so heavenly. I don't know if they have different people running it since they moved to the new location more of a restaurant, but I went in the pick up some food for someone and the guy who helped me acted like it was an inconvenience that I was getting takeout and not eating there and then he was sort of rude that I didn't wanna order extra stuff and then when I paid since all he did was took my order and he had attitude. What a disappointment! I received a Facebook messenger buy 1 sandwich get one free coupon. Attached is photo of Brisket. Dry and cut in chunks, weird. I didn't eat the bun. Sauces were good. Now the nastiest of all, Cuban. The price of each sandwich was $18.99 and tax $20.08, but you get one side. Now the Cuban, where's the pickles? This sandwich was dry pulled pork and sliced up sausages! WTF! With mustard, and melted cheese. Go to Maneas's and order their Cuban at $6 something and be blown away. Food was very good. The brisket was just a little dry but excellent flavor. Pulled pork was very good. The ribs were good. We really enjoyed the cheese curds, BBQ beans and corn muffin tops. Okay friends. You know I'm a BBQ snob. When my family suggested we should stop in here for food on the way to the cities, I thought surely their standards had lowered. They hadn't. This place is phenomenal. I've been to Memphis, St Louis, Kansas City and Nashville. These might be the best ribs I've had anywhere. And I really mean anywhere. They're moist, well seasoned, flavorful, fall off the bone flavor. I ate wayyy past full because I don't know when I'll have ribs like that again. Warning though: a half rack is way too much for one person. I tried some of the brisket and it was pretty dang good too. Not quite like the best of Kansas City, but it is better than average in Kansas City. B+ in KC, A+ this far north. I can in good faith and with confidence tell you to eat here. As you know, I have a mild wheat allergy. The man working the counter helped me navigate the menu to order things that would keep me safe. Ambiance is nice but fairly quiet, so really great if you want to talk, but not super private. Seating is fairly limited, but the chairs are crazy comfortable. My biggest regret is I don't have pictures to entice you to try it out. It's a great place to eat. Easiest 5/5 stars I've given in a while. read more

Had some great BBQ at Up In Smoke in St. Cloud of all places. I tried about half the meats; Ribs, wings, brisket, and Jalapeño cheddar sausage. Everything was good. The stand outs were the smoked wings and proper spare ribs. They fry the wings to finish them. While it washes a little smoke off, it greatly improves the skin. These were awesome!!! The spares were competition perfect. This is not fall off the bone soft! Rather, they are bite through with a clean bone finish. Skip the original sauce, the spicy was great! The ladies running the show today were the frosting on the cake. Talked to both of them, super friendly, and real deal folks. Bonus for comfy chairs at the high top tables. So my greedy self came across this place by accident on YouTube when Randy Sartell was doing a challenge here. The food looked delicious and I live close so put two and two together. Lol. I ordered a three meat combo with ribs pulled pork and jalapeno sausage. The owner was super nice and is a really great guy I'd come here for the customer service alone I like that they aren't stingy with sauce get the spicy one its fantastic so as for the food what can I say it's really good .the potato salad is by far my favorite side but the Mac and cheese and cheesy potato casserole isn't bad either. The pulled pork was tender and moist the ribs were also very tender and tasty. The sausage is sausage I mean is there a bad one lol. This place is a solid 4.5 IMO. read more

I'm a big fan of good bbq, so when I recently came from WI to visit my bff, we decided to try Up In Smoke BBQ and we were NOT disappointed! I got the one meat plate with brisket, my friend got the Longhorn sandwich. She really liked her sando and I really enjoyed my brisket. My plate came with two sides of choice, so I went with baked beans (YUM!) and Mac & cheese. It also came with a muffintop-style cornbread, but I don't like cornbread so I can't say anything about it since I didn't eat it. But I digress. The beans were delicious, and the Mac & cheese was also very good--very cheesy. And their portion sizes are VERY generous too. You will not walk away feeling hungry! Which is good considering the cost of just my lunch (with a drink) was $25. Inside was smallish, but we just came for a quick lunch so it was perfect. Oh, the chairs were comfortable too! Nice bonus! We went in today and were disappointed. I can't look up due to my neck being fused and the only menus are attached to the ceiling, very small print and dark. When we ask we are told the don't have paper menus you have yo look online and they walk away. The online menu has no prices. I show the wife the daily special and the employee, I won't call her a waitress, they might actually be helpful says as they walk by thatthey don't have that today. Two meat is $20.99, includes two meat choices nobody would want, and two sides. I asked for cream corn cassarole and potato salad. Ribs and Brisket are $3.00 additional. Each. , making the two meat $27+ tax and tip. The meal comes with a corn bread muffin top. Small. The wings are a great value. Though everything seems to be covered in too much rub. The ribs and the brisket are a really poor value. I received 3 ribs, which cost $4.50 each. I received 4oz of brisket, which cost $3.38/ oz. The ribs were very good- not $4.50 each good, but good. The brisket was not good. Dry, crumbly, small portion, and did I mention DRY? Sauce couldn't bring them back. A pile of crumbles. The potato salad had too much mayo, the corn casserole was a gluey, chewy mess, and waaayy too sweet. Inedible. Over-priced in my opinion. I would definitely look for the daily specials, and I will be back for the wings. Good sauces, though not too spicy, could have more heat. They charge 3% for using a credit card. read more

We bought the two to three family plus a pound of pork belly burnt ends and three drinks. I really liked the homemade sauces, I'm a fan of the honey pineapple. The spicy sauce was a little mild, I was hoping for some tingle. Original was pretty decent. Ribs were fall off the bone and meaty. Pulled pork was juicy, could have used a little more pulling (giggity) but not bad. The pork belly burnt ends were kind of a candied effect, quite good. I only got a bite of the cornbread muffin tops, my boy was pigging on em. The only cons were that they had very small paper plates, and a meal that was specced for 2 to 3 people only came with two muffins. I was so full that I didn't really need a third muffin anyway. The reviews saying this place is expensive are wrong. We fed a family of 4 under $60. The staff were so nice. We are from out of town and came here for dinner a few minutes before they closed (we didn't realize it till after we sat down). They were very gracious and allowed us to stay and eat. First I am from Texas and this place serves BBQ right. My wife picked up a family pack type deal. The brisket was great. It has a good smoke flavor without being over powered. The homemade sausage was another outstanding winner. The ribs were just right. Not fall off the bone, but where you could take a bite and see your bite imprint on the rib; perfect IMHO. The taste was of the meat and the rub was just enough to give a little enhancement to the flavor. The hash brown casserole is a great choice for a side no doubt. My wife made the comment that the staff was some of the nicest and friendliest that she has had the pleasure of meeting since being up in this neck of the woods. The brisket was absolutely fabulous. The cornbread rounds were fabulous, and the beans were average- just a tad too sweet. The macaroni thoroughly disappointed me. It was this thick glop of cheese, almost like a glue consistency. I also got the manicotti wrapped in bacon with sausage- they were dry and inedible. For the amount of money I paid, I would have like to have had a better experience. It would be nice to not have had to toss money in the garbage, which is what we did with the mac and the manicotti sausage bites. The service was great, with the place being as busy as they were, the young lady was very pleasant who took my order.
