I was hoping for beige highlights and got bright blonde. I asked for a refund and was only offered a "fix it at no cost". I declined. Intervention: Reached out to Vance who did my hair in the past. Don't ask me why I just didn't come back. Vance was able to see me pretty quick and did an AMAZING job!! He gave me beige highlights and darkened the base which I just love. I'm tanned skin so the blonde highlights was not flattering. Evaluation: I am forever grateful for Vance. He is very skilled at his craft. The result was exactly what I was hoping for from the very beginning when I stepped into the other salon. Note to self....i will never see any other stylist. When I showed Leo my inspo pics he managed my expectations because we couldn't get to the exact color I wanted without damaging my hair (silvery grey with black tips). My natural hair color is black and was lifted to a brown with blonde high and low lights...so they literally went through my hair strand by strand to group my hair so they could bleach it properly to get my hair as even as possible. After the toner and color was added, washed out, and dried Leo noticed some parts weren't blended well and instead of just taking my money and letting me leave (since I've already been in the chair for 10hrs and they had closed already) he stayed even later to make sure my hair was as perfect as can be. My hair isn't 100% what my inspo pic was because I'll probably need another session to bleach it but I'm still 110% satisfied. Also I saw another review where a person mentioned that they didn't feel welcome because of the language barrier and that was absolutely not the case for me. My first language is English and second is Tagalog. Yes obviously I won't be chatting it up with the stylists in the salon because I don't speak Mandarin but nonetheless every single person that I interacted with was incredibly kind (they brought me snacks since I was there the whole day, they saw I kept fanning myself because I was getting hot under the covers they use and brought me a fan). I 12/10 recommend this place. I live 45 minutes to an hour away and will definitely make the drive next time I need my hair cut and colored.

If it's mandatory, why isn't it in the base price? $979 ~$1,200: Mandatory 20% tip. Look -- if this was a $1,200 service marketed as a $1,200 service, fine. But every single add-on comes after you've already put down $400 you can't get back. By that point you're locked in and she knows it. The work itself was fine. The pricing strategy is not.

I am currently postpartum, and when I asked for a cut, he later refused to even give me a trim, claiming I would have hair loss anyway. It felt patronizing and insensitive during a time when I was already feeling vulnerable about my changing body. To make matters worse, when I showed him a reference photo of the look I was hoping for, he actually mocked me. He told me the image was AI-generated and made a snide remark that I "couldn't even tell the difference." I didn't go there to be insulted or tested; I went there for professional service and a boost in confidence. I walked out of that salon feeling absolutely terrible. It took finding a much more talented (and kind) stylist elsewhere to reinstate the confidence. Vance likely doesn't remember this interaction, but I certainly do. I showed her pictures of the general color I wanted and she ate with the color combination.
