Apparently I made a big mistake hiring the Unstoppable Handyman to come out (April 2026) to do some work around my place. The job they agreed to was caulk the bathtub, check the water pressure kitchen sink, look into stabilizing a spigot in the bathtub. The fact they charged me over 32% more than there estimate wasn't even the worst part. I was charged $40 to look at the spigot for them to "make recommendations" after he said he wasn't licensed plumber, which I agreed to. In writing agreement $270 work order, apparently an "estimate" they emailed me. After the work, they charged me $358. I paid this but asked why the price increase? They said the "cost of material" (to caulk a bathtub??) and to caulk around the shower door block guide, which was maybe a few square inches to do. You'd think this would be included in price to caulk the tub, but apparently not. None the less, the caulking work looked good. But here's the problem - and it's a big one. I waited 2 days before using the tub/shower after the caulking to allow drying time. Finally when I used the shower, I noticed the spigot was stabilized, but when I reached down to the spigot to turn the water off, I noticed water coming out from the marble tile. I called and spoke to Preston, who is the owner of Unstoppable Handyman as well as performed the basic work. I explained the spigot was leaking water from behind the wall and I needed someone to come out ASAP to look at it. I sent him a video of me turning on the water, showing water running out from inside the wall. During our brief phone conversation, Preston stated that he's not licensed to do plumbing. He denied causing the leak. He told me, "I didn't touch your pipes," but he admitted to removing the spigot which is connected to the copper pipe. He told me that the original worker who installed the bathtub faucet (spigot) "didn't do the work correctly" and he is "liable"... "it's not up to code"... telling me it wasn't anything that he had done. Here's a logical question - if he didn't touch the plumbing, how does he know how it's "not up to code" or improperly assembled? He already said he's not licensed. I asked him if he removed the bathtub spigot and he said that he did, to spray a "backer foam" to stabilize the spigot. I told him it wasn't leaking before, it's leaking now, and when I asked him if he was going to send someone to fix it, he said no, he would not send anyone or take responsibility for the leak. Before I terminated the phone conversation with Mr. "Preston" I told him I was going to review his business on Yelp, Google and that I would also be putting in a consumer complaint with Unstoppable Handyman with the (BBB) Better Business Bureau, which I have every intention of doing. Preston retaliated during our phone conversation, telling me he was going to report me to my condominium HOA, as he made the false assertion I hired "an unlicensed plumber" who originally did the work, which was totally false. The only one performing unlicensed plumbing work was Preston, when he removed the spigot. Removing a spigot is considered basic plumbing work, which "Preston" admitted to in order to spray a foam behind the tile. Pipes can be damaged when twisting off the spigot if not done properly. My original contractor who installed the shower, Steve Miller, was not only a licensed plumber by trade, he holds a general contractor's license who builds entire houses. I called unstoppable handyman to do this work, mostly caulking, because Steve was in 29 palms building a house. After I called and spoke to Steve explaining the situation, that the guy is a handyman who doesn't have a license to plumb but he removed the spigot, "it's now leaking from behind the marble wall," Steve said the guy probably broke the solder on the pipe joint when he twisted the spigot off. Contractor Steve said the marble tile above the bath tub around the faucet is likely going to have to be removed now to repair the pipe. Contractor Steve asked if Preston offered to refund me, I told him, "no. He denies causing any damage." Steve recommended reporting him to the 'state licensing board' - only problem - I don't even believe Preston is licensed. I'll check. I will be filing an official consumer complaint with the BBB against the business, Unstoppable Handyman. There's no telling how much water could have ran down behind the wall under the bath tub when i showered on Sunday, which could cause floor damage as well as cause a mold problem. The tub and shower can't be used now until I have it repaired by a qualified licensed contractor, which will cost hundreds of dollars if not thousand(s). After I file my complaints against "Preston" with unstoppable handyman (Better Business Bureau, state contractor board licensing ) I might elect to take some time off from work to persue legal action to recoup my financial losses on this. That said, this Yelp review isn't the end, I'm just getting started! read more

I reached out to Preston to re-caulk my shower. Our interaction began very well and reasonably. He responded promptly on 7/14 and gave me a good quote for $280. However, during scheduling, he left me on read for 3 days. In the interim, I found someone else who quoted me the same amount, so I hired them to come take a look sooner. They came to take a closer look, and found that it was an issue with the grout, and not the caulking. They revised their quote to around $600. Preston finally responded to me. I reached out to him and let him know that the photos that I sent might not have accurately conveyed the severity of my problem. I told him that I was happy to have him come take a look and pay him the $280 that he quoted, but that I did not want him to run into the same issue as the other handyman, and end up quoting me more money or needing to reschedule the job because he was unable to fix the actual grout. That's when Preston became extremely rude and unprofessional. He again had left me on read for nearly 2 days, after I brought up this concern. When I reached out to him to follow up, he told me that I would have a $99 cancellation fee if I canceled within 48 hours. I not only had contacted him four days before the scheduled work date, but I reached out to follow up with him 48 hours before the scheduled the cancellation date. Preston was unfortunately a poor communicator, and extremely unprofessional in this case. I do not know the actual quality of his work, but based on his communication with me, I would not recommend working with him. Preston - if you would like to apologize for your actions, I would be happy to take this review down. read more

Hired Preston to address updating some old caulking/grout in our bathrooms and our kitchen. Preston arrived on time, walked us through every step- as we are new home owners, and completely repaired the caulking and grout. We spent about $900 to address caulking/ grouting repair in two bathrooms for the shower/tub/vanity, shower door, and kitchen counter. read more

This was the second time we hired Preston to tackle some things around the house. He arrives on time to the minute and gets right to work. His prices are very reasonable. He replaced a tub drain in our 78-year-old home where the crossbars had rotted out, replaced the tub spout, fixed the weak flow in the sink, and re-caulked the tub. It looks practically brand new now. I've attempted this in the past and let's just say it wasn't anywhere near as neat as Preston's. The first time he came out he installed two barn doors and they look and work great. Pretty sure this would have costed twice as much with a plumber, if not more. Highly recommend! read more

BIG MISTAKE HIRING THIS COMPANY!!! Preston arrived on time to hang blinds and window shades. 30 minutes into working on the first set of blinds, he asked for better instructions than what came in the package. I looked up installation instructions on a YouTube video and offered him the use of my ipad. He wouldn't look at it. He continued to use the paper directions. 15 minutes later, he had this first set of blinds hung in place. It became apparent that they were not hung correctly when I tried to open them. Preston Just kept saying that he followed the instructions that "I gave him" (a.k.a. the ones that came with the product). I explained how they were supposed to function (both top down + bottom up) and offered him the opportunity to watch the manufacturer's installation video on YouTube. He refused to look at it and instead said that perhaps he should just come back later while he began to pack up his tools. Then he just left and drove away. Save yourself the aggravation and definitely go elsewhere for your handyman needs. Updated response to Preston's reply that he mounted the blinds correctly: As these were top down/bottom up blinds, they need to be attached to the wall both at the top and at the bottom in order to function properly. After your hasty departure, I noticed that the bottom brackets are still hanging from the bottom rail and were never attached to the wall, thus the reason they didn't function properly. In your reply, you stated that it's your policy to only use your own devices. So why didn't you use your own phone to seek the clarity you needed on how to properly install these blinds? Additionally, when you left, you took the brackets and screws for the 2nd set of blinds with you. I noticed this shortly after you left and texted you to request that you bring them back. Instead of replying to me, you took the time to reply to my review instead and still haven't addressed the issue of returning the brackets and screws to the 2nd set of blinds. read more

John and Preston arrived right on time; they protected the area being worked on; installed the microwave quickly and neatly; price was reasonabl; and they were friendly to boot. read more

I have now hired Preston and John several times to do multiple repairs and projects in my home. John installed kitchen cabinets, replaced a stove fan with a cabinet and microwave, repaired stucco and outdoor concrete stairs, fixed a pesky gate latch, installed a new window, and more. They are great communicators, they are neat and clean, and mostly, the work is beautiful and fairly priced. I don't believe any reviewer who questions their communication or pricing. Every quote is sent by email in advance, payment is accepted online, communication is via phone, text and email, and each visit was preceded by a text saying "on my way." John is always on-time, friendly, and eager to satisfy his customer. Try them - you will not be disappointed and you'll probably find another project for them to do! read more

This was the first time working with Unstoppable Handyman. It didn't go as well as I'd hoped for. I asked them to install a Rogue wall mount squat rack in my garage. John showed up on time and was very professional. About 30 minutes later, Preston arrived to assist. He was quite but professional . The complexity of the installation was mounting the stringers to the wall at the correct height. John started with the bottom stringer and quickly realized it was about a half inch too low. He said "It's gonna be a problem" He then mounted it again an inch or so higher and he called it good. It wasn't. I understand that this was a unique job for them but they took it on after analyzing what needed to be done and said they could make it happen. After they were done I pointed out my concern and they had a list of excuses as to why it wasn't their fault. My home is only 20 years old with a garage floor that is in excellent shape. They said I should have told them the floor was sloped. (All modern garages have a slight slop towards the street) They went on and on about how they are the best in the business and John said "I'm not adjusting the height again". If you hire them for a job and you aren't happy with the outcome, know that they become VERY defensive. I explained that I just wish it would have been done a bit better and John responded "It's done and I'm not sure why I'm even talking to you anymore" Needless to say, I don't recommend hiring either John or Preston. They seem to have quality equipment and were prepared but when you end a conversation with your customer saying, I'm not sure why I'm even talking to you anymore" That's not a good sign. At the end he still wanted the full $360 but John said he would come down on the price "if I really need him to" So he charged me $300 read more

So happy to have found John and Preston. Quality is their priority. They worry about craftsmanship, and a job well done. They installed my new front door, and exterior decorative molding for my front windows. John repaired exterior window trim, built a cover for my wall a/c unit, and repaired a termite damaged exterior door frame. I am so impressed with their extensive knowledge and skill set. Preston was incredibly rude over text after I asked him to come by for an estimate on a project. Definitely will not be using his services.

I have used Unstoppable on multiple occasions and it is always a great experience. They are reliable and friendly!

Extraordinary work and professionalism. Very fair prices. Service request accomplished sooner than expected. Highly recommended!

I've left messages a couple of times for handyman for some projects I needed done. My first call was back in May. Then, I called them on 7/20/21 and never got a response to either message. They did however respond to my negative review today. So I understand this; if they are not able or willing to take on your project they'll just ignore your phone call? I guess that's their answer to your inquiry, It's not very professional in my opinion but good to know.... Update 8/9/21: Preston, I never 'threatened' to leave a bad review. You didn't respond to my multiple requests for services (as I left on my message I had several other small jobs that needed to be done) so I left a negative review. Customer service is more than just doing a good job on the work you agree to accept. From a consumer's standpoint how would I have known you were not interested in any of our projects? It's very rude and unprofessional to ignore calls from potential customers, a text back stating you couldn't do the work would suffice, but when you have to post a negative review to get the attention of a vendor that's concerning..... either way, I wish you the best of luck with the projects you decide to pursue. read more

Used them a few months ago to fix a garbage disposal and they were great. Was reasonable $110 for labor and we provided the new garbage disposal. Just called to get more work done on one of our rental properties and they said that they have a policy now where every visit is minimum $360 for labor alone. Going to find someone else to use as our go to for our rental properties because most times we call someone it does not come to $360 labor. read more

John got to my house as scheduled, ( actually he was waiting for me when I arrived), and was ready to get to work. I needed to have the spark arrestor put back on my chimney. Excellent company! Excellent service! Prompt. Reliable. Did the work professionally and on time.

I would recommend Unstoppable Handyman for any of your home improvement needs! We wanted to replace three light fixtures in the bedrooms with ceiling fans before moving into our new home. They were able to accommodate us quickly (within a couple days), and I appreciate the text reminders and ETA heads up the morning of the appointment. I also appreciated how they provided upfront pricing and let me know about common issues that pop up during install so up so that if additional materials or efforts were needed, there were no surprises. During removal of the old light switches, they identified the plastic electrical boxes weren't going to be strong enough for the fans (exactly what was mentioned during the phone call). They were prepared with the stronger braces in hand and even with the additional work, all three boxes and fans were installed quickly and function perfectly. I have saved their number and will gladly call them again when the next project comes up! read more
