This was the second time we hired Preston to tackle some things around the house. He arrives on time to the minute and gets right to work. His prices are very reasonable. He replaced a tub drain in our 78-year-old home where the crossbars had rotted out, replaced the tub spout, fixed the weak flow in the sink, and re-caulked the tub. It looks practically brand new now. I've attempted this in the past and let's just say it wasn't anywhere near as neat as Preston's. The first time he came out he installed two barn doors and they look and work great. Pretty sure this would have costed twice as much with a plumber, if not more. Highly recommend! read more

Apparently I made a big mistake hiring the Unstoppable Handyman to come out (April 2026) to do some work around my place. The job they agreed to was caulk the bathtub, check the water pressure kitchen sink, look into stabilizing a spigot in the bathtub. The fact they charged me over 32% more than there estimate wasn't even the worst part. I was charged $40 to look at the spigot for them to "make recommendations" after he said he wasn't licensed plumber, which I agreed to. In writing agreement $270 work order, apparently an "estimate" they emailed me. After the work, they charged me $358. I paid this but asked why the price increase? They said the "cost of material" (to caulk a bathtub??) and to caulk around the shower door block guide, which was maybe a few square inches to do. You'd think this would be included in price to caulk the tub, but apparently not. None the less, the caulking work looked good. But here's the problem - and it's a big one. I waited 2 days before using the tub/shower after the caulking to allow drying time. Finally when I used the shower, I noticed the spigot was stabilized, but when I reached down to the spigot to turn the water off, I noticed water coming out from the marble tile. I called and spoke to Preston, who is the owner of Unstoppable Handyman as well as performed the basic work. I explained the spigot was leaking water from behind the wall and I needed someone to come out ASAP to look at it. I sent him a video of me turning on the water, showing water running out from inside the wall. During our brief phone conversation, Preston stated that he's not licensed to do plumbing. He denied causing the leak. He told me, "I didn't touch your pipes," but he admitted to removing the spigot which is connected to the copper pipe. He told me that the original worker who installed the bathtub faucet (spigot) "didn't do the work correctly" and he is "liable"... "it's not up to code"... telling me it wasn't anything that he had done. Here's a logical question - if he didn't touch the plumbing, how does he know how it's "not up to code" or improperly assembled? He already said he's not licensed. I asked him if he removed the bathtub spigot and he said that he did, to spray a "backer foam" to stabilize the spigot. I told him it wasn't leaking before, it's leaking now, and when I asked him if he was going to send someone to fix it, he said no, he would not send anyone or take responsibility for the leak. Before I terminated the phone conversation with Mr. "Preston" I told him I was going to review his business on Yelp, Google and that I would also be putting in a consumer complaint with Unstoppable Handyman with the (BBB) Better Business Bureau, which I have every intention of doing. Preston retaliated during our phone conversation, telling me he was going to report me to my condominium HOA, as he made the false assertion I hired "an unlicensed plumber" who originally did the work, which was totally false. The only one performing unlicensed plumbing work was Preston, when he removed the spigot. Removing a spigot is considered basic plumbing work, which "Preston" admitted to in order to spray a foam behind the tile. Pipes can be damaged when twisting off the spigot if not done properly. My original contractor who installed the shower, Steve Miller, was not only a licensed plumber by trade, he holds a general contractor's license who builds entire houses. I called unstoppable handyman to do this work, mostly caulking, because Steve was in 29 palms building a house. After I called and spoke to Steve explaining the situation, that the guy is a handyman who doesn't have a license to plumb but he removed the spigot, "it's now leaking from behind the marble wall," Steve said the guy probably broke the solder on the pipe joint when he twisted the spigot off. Contractor Steve said the marble tile above the bath tub around the faucet is likely going to have to be removed now to repair the pipe. Contractor Steve asked if Preston offered to refund me, I told him, "no. He denies causing any damage." Steve recommended reporting him to the 'state licensing board' - only problem - I don't even believe Preston is licensed. I'll check. I will be filing an official consumer complaint with the BBB against the business, Unstoppable Handyman. There's no telling how much water could have ran down behind the wall under the bath tub when i showered on Sunday, which could cause floor damage as well as cause a mold problem. The tub and shower can't be used now until I have it repaired by a qualified licensed contractor, which will cost hundreds of dollars if not thousand(s). After I file my complaints against "Preston" with unstoppable handyman (Better Business Bureau, state contractor board licensing ) I might elect to take some time off from work to persue legal action to recoup my financial losses on this. I reached out to Preston to re-caulk my shower. Our interaction began very well and reasonably. He responded promptly on 7/14 and gave me a good quote for $280. However, during scheduling, he left me on read for 3 days. In the interim, I found someone else who quoted me the same amount, so I hired them to come take a look sooner. They came to take a closer look, and found that it was an issue with the grout, and not the caulking. They revised their quote to around $600. Preston finally responded to me. I reached out to him and let him know that the photos that I sent might not have accurately conveyed the severity of my problem. I told him that I was happy to have him come take a look and pay him the $280 that he quoted, but that I did not want him to run into the same issue as the other handyman, and end up quoting me more money or needing to reschedule the job because he was unable to fix the actual grout. That's when Preston became extremely rude and unprofessional. He again had left me on read for nearly 2 days, after I brought up this concern. When I reached out to him to follow up, he told me that I would have a $99 cancellation fee if I canceled within 48 hours. I not only had contacted him four days before the scheduled work date, but I reached out to follow up with him 48 hours before the scheduled the cancellation date. Preston was unfortunately a poor communicator, and extremely unprofessional in this case. I do not know the actual quality of his work, but based on his communication with me, I would not recommend working with him. BIG MISTAKE HIRING THIS COMPANY!!! Preston arrived on time to hang blinds and window shades. 30 minutes into working on the first set of blinds, he asked for better instructions than what came in the package. I looked up installation instructions on a YouTube video and offered him the use of my ipad. He wouldn't look at it. He continued to use the paper directions. 15 minutes later, he had this first set of blinds hung in place. It became apparent that they were not hung correctly when I tried to open them. Preston Just kept saying that he followed the instructions that "I gave him" (a.k.a. the ones that came with the product). I explained how they were supposed to function (both top down + bottom up) and offered him the opportunity to watch the manufacturer's installation video on YouTube. He refused to look at it and instead said that perhaps he should just come back later while he began to pack up his tools. Then he just left and drove away. Save yourself the aggravation and definitely go elsewhere for your handyman needs. Updated response to Preston's reply that he mounted the blinds correctly: As these were top down/bottom up blinds, they need to be attached to the wall both at the top and at the bottom in order to function properly. After your hasty departure, I noticed that the bottom brackets are still hanging from the bottom rail and were never attached to the wall, thus the reason they didn't function properly. In your reply, you stated that it's your policy to only use your own devices. So why didn't you use your own phone to seek the clarity you needed on how to properly install these blinds? Additionally, when you left, you took the brackets and screws for the 2nd set of blinds with you. I noticed this shortly after you left and texted you to request that you bring them back. Instead of replying to me, you took the time to reply to my review instead and still haven't addressed the issue of returning the brackets and screws to the 2nd set of blinds. read more

This was the first time working with Unstoppable Handyman. It didn't go as well as I'd hoped for. I asked them to install a Rogue wall mount squat rack in my garage. John showed up on time and was very professional. About 30 minutes later, Preston arrived to assist. He was quite but professional . The complexity of the installation was mounting the stringers to the wall at the correct height. John started with the bottom stringer and quickly realized it was about a half inch too low. He said "It's gonna be a problem" He then mounted it again an inch or so higher and he called it good. It wasn't. I understand that this was a unique job for them but they took it on after analyzing what needed to be done and said they could make it happen. After they were done I pointed out my concern and they had a list of excuses as to why it wasn't their fault. My home is only 20 years old with a garage floor that is in excellent shape. They said I should have told them the floor was sloped. (All modern garages have a slight slop towards the street) They went on and on about how they are the best in the business and John said "I'm not adjusting the height again". If you hire them for a job and you aren't happy with the outcome, know that they become VERY defensive. I explained that I just wish it would have been done a bit better and John responded "It's done and I'm not sure why I'm even talking to you anymore" Needless to say, I don't recommend hiring either John or Preston. They seem to have quality equipment and were prepared but when you end a conversation with your customer saying, I'm not sure why I'm even talking to you anymore" That's not a good sign. At the end he still wanted the full $360 but John said he would come down on the price "if I really need him to" So he charged me $300 read more

They did however respond to my negative review today. So I understand this; if they are not able or willing to take on your project they'll just ignore your phone call? You didn't respond to my multiple requests for services (as I left on my message I had several other small jobs that needed to be done) so I left a negative review. Customer service is more than just doing a good job on the work you agree to accept. From a consumer's standpoint how would I have known you were not interested in any of our projects? The spark arrestor had blown off the chimney during the high winds and was a bit broken up. John did a fine job of repairing the arrestor and re-mounting it on the chimney. I would recommend Unstoppable Handyman for any of your home improvement needs! We wanted to replace three light fixtures in the bedrooms with ceiling fans before moving into our new home. They were able to accommodate us quickly (within a couple days), and I appreciate the text reminders and ETA heads up the morning of the appointment. I also appreciated how they provided upfront pricing and let me know about common issues that pop up during install so up so that if additional materials or efforts were needed, there were no surprises. During removal of the old light switches, they identified the plastic electrical boxes weren't going to be strong enough for the fans (exactly what was mentioned during the phone call). They were prepared with the stronger braces in hand and even with the additional work, all three boxes and fans were installed quickly and function perfectly.
