    Repiped old plumbing
    Maureen M.

So we had a small leak under the sink of my condo (So we thought)..we inquired several businesses giving us quotes for a simple repair. Not the case. Alex and his team came in and gave it a complete inspection. Thanks to them, They found and and fixed a major plumbing issue that could've only gotten worse!!! Can you believe these other guys came in and only wanted a quick fix and cash out repair??? Not Alex and helpful handyman guys. Not only did they fix the problem, the installed a better and more efficient plumbing apparatus that would not only fix the problem, but also help us save on water expenses. I cannot say enought. Thanks to helpfull handymen we are all good with a warranty for 1 year on parts as well. These guys are honest and have very fair pricing. period!

The quality of their work was excellent, our house looks absolutely stunning, and we couldn't be happier. What really stood out, though, was Santiago's communication and flexibility. As anyone who has done home projects knows, things are rarely straightforward, and Santiago was great about pivoting when needed, offering solutions, and keeping us informed every step of the way. They were also very reasonable with pricing and worked with us honestly and transparently. There are a trustworthy, family-run business, which made the entire process stress-free. Trust is huge when hiring someone to work in your home, and we felt completely comfortable with Santiago and his team. We had a fantastic experience and will absolutely be using them again. Highly, highly recommend!

Apparently I made a big mistake hiring the Unstoppable Handyman to come out (April 2026) to do some…read morework around my place. The job they agreed to was caulk the bathtub, check the water pressure kitchen sink, look into stabilizing a spigot in the bathtub. The fact they charged me over 32% more than there estimate wasn't even the worst part. I was charged $40 to look at the spigot for them to "make recommendations" after he said he wasn't licensed plumber, which I agreed to. In writing agreement $270 work order, apparently an "estimate" they emailed me. After the work, they charged me $358. I paid this but asked why the price increase? They said the "cost of material" (to caulk a bathtub??) and to caulk around the shower door block guide, which was maybe a few square inches to do. You'd think this would be included in price to caulk the tub, but apparently not. None the less, the caulking work looked good. But here's the problem - and it's a big one. I waited 2 days before using the tub/shower after the caulking to allow drying time. Finally when I used the shower, I noticed the spigot was stabilized, but when I reached down to the spigot to turn the water off, I noticed water coming out from the marble tile. I called and spoke to Preston, who is the owner of Unstoppable Handyman as well as performed the basic work. I explained the spigot was leaking water from behind the wall and I needed someone to come out ASAP to look at it. I sent him a video of me turning on the water, showing water running out from inside the wall. During our brief phone conversation, Preston stated that he's not licensed to do plumbing. He denied causing the leak. He told me, "I didn't touch your pipes," but he admitted to removing the spigot which is connected to the copper pipe. He told me that the original worker who installed the bathtub faucet (spigot) "didn't do the work correctly" and he is "liable"... "it's not up to code"... telling me it wasn't anything that he had done. Here's a logical question - if he didn't touch the plumbing, how does he know how it's "not up to code" or improperly assembled? He already said he's not licensed. I asked him if he removed the bathtub spigot and he said that he did, to spray a "backer foam" to stabilize the spigot. I told him it wasn't leaking before, it's leaking now, and when I asked him if he was going to send someone to fix it, he said no, he would not send anyone or take responsibility for the leak. Before I terminated the phone conversation with Mr. "Preston" I told him I was going to review his business on Yelp, Google and that I would also be putting in a consumer complaint with Unstoppable Handyman with the (BBB) Better Business Bureau, which I have every intention of doing. Preston retaliated during our phone conversation, telling me he was going to report me to my condominium HOA, as he made the false assertion I hired "an unlicensed plumber" who originally did the work, which was totally false. The only one performing unlicensed plumbing work was Preston, when he removed the spigot. Removing a spigot is considered basic plumbing work, which "Preston" admitted to in order to spray a foam behind the tile. Pipes can be damaged when twisting off the spigot if not done properly. My original contractor who installed the shower, Steve Miller, was not only a licensed plumber by trade, he holds a general contractor's license who builds entire houses. I called unstoppable handyman to do this work, mostly caulking, because Steve was in 29 palms building a house. After I called and spoke to Steve explaining the situation, that the guy is a handyman who doesn't have a license to plumb but he removed the spigot, "it's now leaking from behind the marble wall," Steve said the guy probably broke the solder on the pipe joint when he twisted the spigot off. Contractor Steve said the marble tile above the bath tub around the faucet is likely going to have to be removed now to repair the pipe. Contractor Steve asked if Preston offered to refund me, I told him, "no. He denies causing any damage." Steve recommended reporting him to the 'state licensing board' - only problem - I don't even believe Preston is licensed. I'll check. I will be filing an official consumer complaint with the BBB against the business, Unstoppable Handyman. There's no telling how much water could have ran down behind the wall under the bath tub when i showered on Sunday, which could cause floor damage as well as cause a mold problem. The tub and shower can't be used now until I have it repaired by a qualified licensed contractor, which will cost hundreds of dollars if not thousand(s). After I file my complaints against "Preston" with unstoppable handyman (Better Business Bureau, state contractor board licensing ) I might elect to take some time off from work to persue legal action to recoup my financial losses on this. That said, this Yelp review isn't the end, I'm just getting started!

But Yelp hasn't steered me wrong just yet, so I compiled a list of the most loved Handymen and started going down the line. It turns out though that the most sought after handymen were all booked out until Jan. I was getting a little anxious and worried since we only had a 30 day window to make some modifications in the kitchen for Home Depot to come back out and install our appliances we had purchased. I sent a "request for quote" on yelp and Fabian from FD Handyman Services got back to me letting me know they would be able to take care of everything. He sent Giovanni out a couple days later. This was the list of items he took care of: 1. The cabinet above the current microwave is measured at 28.5 from the cooktop, but needs to be raised up to 30 inches 2. The current oven was hardwired, but the new oven requires a 220v outlet installed 3. The previous owners put in the countertop and hardwood floors around the current dishwasher, so the dishwasher cutout is measured at 33.5. The new one requires a 34 inch opening. The countertop trim would need to be cut a .5 in order to get the dishwasher installed. 4. The current dishwasher is directly connected to the garbage disposal, the new one requires an air gap to be installed 5. The hot water angle stop valve was corroded and needed to be replaced 6. The refrigerator line was still connected to the old plastic tube, but we need to switch it out to the steel line and the cold water valve also needed to be replaced It took him about 7 hours to complete the entire list above. He cleaned up after himself well and was really friendly. I came home a couple days later and prepped for Home Depot to come by and install the appliances. I was checking out the wires under the sink when I saw that it was leaking! I had a mini heart attack. Giovanni was able to pick up the parts and get to my house about 1.5 hours later. He got it all fixed up. A couple other items had to be corrected, but he made sure to test everything again before leaving. We're still satisfied with the service Giovanni provided us and will be calling him back for future projects!

I have an old house built in 1953. I needed the garage door leading out to the back yard replaced. It's a standard size wood door with a window in it, but being that it's an old house and considering the stucco and door frame adjoin, it's not an easy job to replace with a new door, without affecting the stucco. I called 3 other handyman prior to contacting Eduardo, and all 3 came out and never came back. They were afraid to do the project and obviously embarrassed they couldn't do the job but wouldn't tell me or return my calls. Anyways.... I called Eduardo and he came over, on time as promised to inspect the door. Eduardo was confident he could do the job. Eduardo told me he would text me back a quotation. His quote was 100% professional with all details of the scope of the project and what he would perform and provide. We scheduled a day and he showed up exactly on time as promised. Eduardo and his team did an outstanding clean professional job and I don't think anyone could have done better. His crew cleaned up their work construction mess and left the area clean. My new door is exactly what I envisioned as the perfect new door replacement. I'm elated and so happy to have found Eduardo Acevedo a quality handyman in our neighborhood. Thank you!!
