Why You Should Think Twice Before Ordering from Unplugged Performance When it comes to upgrading your car, you expect quality parts and excellent customer service--especially when buying from a company with a reputation like Unplugged Performance. Unfortunately, my recent experience has shown me that their products and support don't live up to the hype. I purchased the front and rear sway bars, adjustable end links, and luxury suspension kit for my Tesla Model 3, spending $2,300 upfront. To ensure everything was done correctly, I also paid $1,500 to have these parts installed by one of their approved installers. Everything seemed fine at first, but soon after installation, I noticed a loud clunking noise coming from the front of the car. Over the next several months, I spent over $1,000 in diagnostics at Tesla and the approved shop, only to discover the issue was defective sway bar bushings provided by Unplugged Performance. Thinking the company would stand behind their product, I reached out to customer service, expecting a simple resolution. What I got instead was a nightmare. Here's what happened: After over 50 emails back and forth, their only "solution" was for me to purchase a stock sway bar at my own expense, pay to have it installed, and then ship their defective sway bar back to them. Only after they received it would they consider issuing a refund. They refused to provide replacement bushings, which would have solved the problem easily and quickly. Worst of all, they suggested I should have "verified the parts worked" before discarding my factory sway bar--a ridiculous and unreasonable expectation for a product marketed as a direct replacement. When you buy premium aftermarket parts, you trust the company to deliver quality and stand behind their products. Unplugged Performance failed on both fronts. Not only did they provide defective parts, but their warranty process was overly complicated, dismissive, and lacking in accountability. If you're considering ordering from Unplugged Performance, be prepared for a frustrating and expensive experience if something goes wrong. My advice? Update: re-writing because I then took the car in for cosmetic work and wow do I have opinions. Performance bits- Front and rear sway bars Stainless steel brake lines Street & track brake pads High downforce rear spoiler Rear camber adjustment arms Cosmetic bits- Ascension front fascia Ascension glossy carbon fiber side skirts Purple/black iridescent wrap And ceramic coating All in, I did the work in two trips, one for the performance work and one for the cosmetic work. The whole team at Unplugged Performance is absolutely incredible to work with. There were quite a few hurtles in the road during the process out of both of our hands, and UP did a phenomenal job of pulling everything together in what wound up being a bit of a dream car. Cavan, Mike, Sean, Tricia and the rest of the team at UP knocked it out of the park. Their enthusiasm and passion for what they do really shows, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the result. As for all the bits put on, simply put- it's perfect. I can have the soft ride for road trips, and even raise up the suspension a bit if I need to. If I want to have a bit more fun, I can dial up the stiffness and get an incredibly responsive driving feel out of it. Even on the stock tires (which will be getting upgraded soon) the driving feel was instantly more alive. There's more feedback in the steering, suspension, brakes, and floor of the vehicle without making the ride harsh or unpleasant. Unplugged was able to get me the driving feel I really wanted while also bringing out the personality in my Model 3. One of the greatest roadtrips ever from NorCal to SoCal to take a stock TM3 and convert into something amazing... Kirk put everything together and he'll help you design your dream car as well. Do you want to stand out in a world of electric cars, LOOK no further. Ben, the owner had enough time to meet me and talk about some future work that I want top add to my TM3. Outstanding experience and they threw in some racing jackets, tee shirts, and an incredible custom coaster... I have not been so pleased spending that kind of money anywhere I am scheduling another go round in which they add more modifications to make it even lighter and more unique. I DARE you not to spend BIG money on the UP guys. Ben runs a tight shop and his crew is extremely friendly, useful, and full of great ideas. Very creative. I am enthusiastic to throw a couple more paychecks their way. Looking forward to a quick turn around and heading back to Hawthorne for another round with Unplugged Performance. TERRIBLE customer service. Working with a guy named Adam who has been incredibly nonresponsive to my emails. I ordered a set of wheels and tires, and said they would be shipped out in two weeks but here we are 4 weeks later and nothing. I have left voicemails, and emails, and contacted them directly through their website, and NOTHING. I left one more voicemail today begging for my wheels and tires as I currently have a bad tire I am nursing. So disappointed in this company. I took a recommendation from Gjeebs on YouTube who is a Tesla enthusiast and does funny and thorough car reviews. Apparently, U.P. has led him to believe they are a solid company. I just don't know what to do as I am out $4700. They refuse to refund and they refuse to even return any of my emails. The next step is to get an attorney in Hawthorne and sue them I guess. read more

I have been using Unplugged Performance aftermarket parts for my Model X P100D for almost 4 years now. Most recently I ordered a part I thought I needed that had broken due to an accident caused by me. After getting my car back from the shop, I discovered that I only needed one hardware bolt that costs significantly less than the entire adjustable camber arm assembly. Ross Hood had been so helpful in the past with my original order for adjustable camber arms, and was totally professional and provided an RMA form. He even included a shipping label so that I would be able to return the unneeded part after all. I love these guys... some of the best quality and innovative products for Tesla. I have my Model S Plaid decked out with carbon ceramic brakes, FUCA (front upper control arms- adjustable) , rear suspension arms... I've worked with Kirk Nason since the beginning- he's always known the answers to my questions, or he connects me to the experts in that specific department to get the info relayed over. Purchased a 2024 Tesla Model Y. It didn't take long to consider upgrading the suspension. While the Tesla suspension is passable it is still lacking in the Model Y. Did some research on upgrading and found that Unplugged Performance seemed the best bet. I contacted them and ended up working with Kirk Nason who was great. He made a great suggestion to consider, the Model Y Luxury Suspension Kit, and add rear camber arms to help make the Y not eat the rear tiers, and have a better over all ride. He also helped locate an installer in the Northern Virginia area where I live. The installer was PTunning and they did an excellent job. Current driving is fantastic, it feels stuck to the road and comfortable in general without making it squishy. Overall, I highly recommend them. read more

I purchased one of their Tesla Model S custom front bumper kits in January in order to convert a 2013 model into the newer style. The quality and attention to detail from this team is second to none and the installation went very smoothly. For just a fraction of the amount of a new car, I have the appearance of a brand new Tesla S. The craftsmanship of the bumper itself is flawless and it fit perfectly onto the 2013 chassis facia. Worked with Kirk on getting a set of Road Warriors setup on my 2022 Y Performance. Stock suspension and tire wear have been a problem since new. Bought the wheels, tires, tpms sensors, lugnuts, and rear camber adjust link and all arrived in perfect condition and installed without issue. Achieved everything i wanted working with Kirk and the products are first rate quality. Eventually added the front upper control link and my alignment is now spot on and the ride and performance is great. I wasn't happy with the stuff ride on my model Y performance and found the Unplugged performance Luxury coil over set. The ride is MUCH better. These cars are never going to ride as smooth as a car with an air suspension but this coil over set is the perfect solution for the car. I was concerned about the damping and rebound settings, the setting 5 clicks from the softest hit the sweet spot for me. The guys at Unplugged installed the set up in 5 hrs and were very professional. This is the suspension Tesla should have used in the first place. read more
