This was by far the best purchasing experiences my wife and I have ever had! From the first phone call with Trey (our salesman) it was a positive experience. Since we were calling from out of the area, he went outside and did a walk around video from us. We agreed on wanting it and started the process. We told Trey we wouldn't be able to drive from Denton to Waco until Saturday and he did something nobody has ever offered to do ... he offered to drive the vehicle down to us and pick up our trade. I haven't been able to get local dealerships to do this, much less one that is almost 100 miles away. THAT IS FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Dannie was our Finance Officer, and the process continued to be seamless. He is very personable and not pushy like most Finance. Got the numbers completed, signed paperwork online, made our downpayment online, and we were finished. Seamless, personable, smooth and EFFORTLESS!!! If you are looking for a new KIA, I highly recommend you reach out to Trey to be your salesman and ask for Dannie to do the financing ... you won't regret it!!! read more

Purchasing my car was a smooth and pleasant experience, and the sales team made big promises about how great the service department would be. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience at all. My 1-year-old vehicle has been sitting at the service department for nearly a week due to a warning message indicating a possible transmission issue. As of today, the car hasn't even been looked at--it's simply been sitting there. Despite asking multiple times, I have not been offered a loaner or a rental vehicle, which has been extremely inconvenient and embarrassing, as I've had to call around just to find rides. Communication is also a major issue. If I don't reach out first, I receive no updates whatsoever on the status of my vehicle. This is especially frustrating considering that my car is still under the manufacturer's warranty, and I also purchased an extended warranty for added peace of mind. To be clear: the car-buying experience was great. However, the service department has been a huge disappointment and does not come close to what was promised. read more

i'm 20, why the hell do they think i can go 7 days with NO car, and NO loaner car because it's "not in my warranty" at this point nothing is in my damn warranty, like what do i pay the warranty for??? not everyone has $3.8k- $7.8k or MORE? to spend on a whim. especially if they "don't know" if they can fix my engine, or if i need a new one. genuinely never buy a car from kia, they never help with anything quite frankly. update: they've had my car for two weeks at this point. they could give two shits if i'm able to get to work or not. read more

The sale process was great. Wish my salesman didn't forget who I was the minute I walked out the door. Called the next day about a minuscule problem and got "who is this". Service department is horrible, waiting 3 hours for an appointment they scheduled. DO NOT BUY HERE!!! read more

Had an appointment - drove there from Temple, Tx - stood face to face with the service desk for 14 min before they asked if they could help me . I stated we had an appointment to do a diagnostic on the AC and they said they will hod the car for a week before they can even run the test. 200$ for them to test and they keep my car for a week! They knew I was from Temple! And why did I need an appointment for them to tell me that. I'm glad I don't own a Kia as they have some serious problems , I took my parents car to cornerstone in Temple and had it sorted out in one day! Never buy a Kia their wait list is soooo long for service because they all are broke and garbage vehicles read more

Pretty much the worst "service" I've received in years. I made an appointment to resolve a recall issue with my car but was not told I'd have to leave it overnight until after I drove an hour to the dealership. Since this is my only transportation that was not an option for me. The staff were basically apathetic zombies who were too rude to even acknowledge me when I arrived and are obviously just putting in the time for a paycheck and do not care at all about helping their customers. I called and asked to speak to the service manager, but after leaving a message I never received a return call. It's obvious that the staff are taking their plays from the management playbook at this establishment. I'd give zero stars if that was an option. Will never return to this dealership and will not purchase another Kia because of this experience. Please do not waste your time at this service department! read more

We can always depend on them and the service dept! If you have Kia you need to visit the waco location

We were literally hundreds of miles from home when our Kia started displaying an engine problem warning. These guys were the closest dealership around. Called at 4:40 (they closed in an hour and 20 minutes) and sat on hold for 10 minutes before the call dropped. Finally got through to someone and was told the last available appointment was 5:15. We were 40 minutes away so she said they couldn't help us. I explained we were far from home and worried we might have a breakdown. They refused to see us because we couldn't reach them until about 5:30 (after their last appointment slot. No flexibility at all. read more

Great experience here if you are looking for a Mazda and Kia do yourself a favor and check them out. We had the deal worked out ahead of time and went in to pickup the car and sign the paperwork. No hard sells, finance was great. I chose to drive from Austin to University Kia because the local dealers were way higher on price and wanted to play games. I was in and out of the dealership at University Kia in well under 2 hours including a test drive! read more

University Kia - SUV - Car Dealers Near Me - Waco, Texas

Extremely shady sales tactics. They claimed they had a vehicle which they didn't just to bring me in all the way from Austin. They made up some story of how the first customer to arrive would be able to buy the vehicle. Sure enough I show up and they say "Darn, somewhat just beat you to it". I feel like an idiot falling for this, but also... these guys are terrible. On another occasion I bought a car from them on the lot as I waited for a new build that they said should take about two months. As soon as I handed over the cash for the car (and after dealing with their EXTREMELY pushing and condescending finance manager), they said the new build would actually take up to a year. This Kia location has taken a drastic turn for the worst over the past years. Any time you try to file a claim for warranty coverage, the employees act like it is coming out of their personal accounts. It took me months to even get them to look at my car to see if it was eligible. No one acted like they were knowledgeable on the coverage they sold me. You no longer get a courtesy vacuum or wash when your car is serviced. I was told my car had a recall, but the part was not in stock and I would receive a call when it came in. I never received a call and have been trying to reach someone regarding the recall as it has been over 3 months approximately. They told me they did not know why someone would tell me I'd receive a call, because it is usually an automated text. Nevertheless, I never received a call or text. When I try to speak to someone they just keep transferring me to parts who hangs up on me. I have been patient and friendly, but it is baffling how unprofessional and uninformed they are at this point. The staff's overall customer service and knowledge is subpar and needs serious evaluation. Manager called and scheduled me a service appointment to get the recall done as the part had been in. I took my car to get serviced and was called 2 hours later and told it could not be done that day because they did not know it was a blower motor replacement. How do you not know it is a blower motor replacement when you literally scheduled the appointment and knew how much time it would take to complete the service? Absolutely ridiculous and a waste of time. Dropped my car off at my new appointment and was called 1 hour and half later and told my part was given away, to come pick up my car, & reschedule for another 1 1/2 weeks. It's actually insane how unorganized this place is. Dropped my car off again for new appointment this time I was told it might take until the next day which is not what was previously quoted. Therefore, I made no preparations to be carless for this long. No response after asking for update on number provided. read more

Driving through Waco on my way to Dallas from Austin and I randomly stopped at University KIA. They didn't have the exact color I wanted but suggested I check back and encouraged my shopping around and assured me they would have the best price for same vehicle. I looked at 2023 KIA Sportage EX in Dallas, Ft. Worth and San Antonio. University KIA beat their prices for exact same vehicle by $2,500! Super responsive and attentive to what I was looking for not what they were trying to offload. I live in Austin and will look at University KIA first before looking elsewhere going forward. Kirk Lewis was easy to work with and made the car shopping experience a pleasant one. read more

I am extremely impressed with the level of customer service that I received from University Kia. I honestly went into the dealership with no plans of purchasing a new vehicle that day. However, not only did I receive a great deal on a new Telluride, but I also received exceptional customer service. Not one time did I feel pressured at any given time. All of my needs were met thanks to Matthew, Bobby, and Paul. I will definitely be referring my friends and family. read more

My car started idling when I drove home from work going on 2 weeks ago. So I took it to University Kia because I saw that my car (2018 Kia Soul) is currently under the powertrain warranty. To make a long story short, the service department said the engine had to be replaced and they submitted a claim to the Kia Warranty dept. but they denied it on 4/11/24 saying it expired last year. So I asked if I could keep the car there so I can figure out what my next move was, and they threatened to tow my car if I didn't pick it up that day. When I called to let them know I was coming, they tried to charge me close to $180 for them looking at it and I told them that I would report them if they charged me because I wasn't told I had to pay. They then let me come pick up the car. I did some digging and found out that I still am under warranty and when I called Kia Customer Service and told them I have a certified pre-owned vehicle, they confirmed that the Basic Limited Warranty was expired but I had coverage through a 3rd party for the extended warranty. So I called University Kia back to see if they could fix it and they said "yes" but had an attitude the whole time. I will never do business with University Kia again for as long as I'm alive because of this experience, and also because I bought the car from them almost 3 years ago and I'm already having these issues and they don't care enough about their customers to address them. read more

We came in with a very tricky and urgent repair situation. (Literally stranded) The folks at University Kia went down every route imaginable to try to help us out, and all the while making us feel supremely comfortable while we waited. I will leave an absolutely horrible review and experience about University Kia very soon

Single most TERRIBLE experience with a dealership's service department I have ever had. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CARS TO THIS DEALERSHIP. Not only will they take forever to fix your car, despite appointments made in advance, but they will do a shoddy job and then not take responsibility for damages incurred. They fixed my right front axle on my car in October/Nov of 2022 and within 32 days it fell off my car. I am very lucky this happened when stopped at train tracks rather than on the highway. There is zero accountability with this service department and the managers truly do not care. I was so glad to be done with this department because getting my car fixed in the first place was like pulling teeth. I should have known I would continue to have problems with them. They were notified the day the incident occurred and did not send an inspector, and are now blaming me for the repair shop's lack of communication and the fact that I authorized repairs. I should have read other reviews before trusting this dealership with my car - I would have taken it literally anywhere else. I recommend you learn from my mistake and avoid this service department like the plague. The ONE STAR for this review is for the service coordinators/desk workers at University Kia, as they are the only positive interactions I have had with the service department. read more

I would give them zero stars if I could. We drove 3 hours in from the woodlands to buy a telluride premier pro model which is hard to find and called 4 times while on the road to university kia. We canceled work appointments and asked a friend to pick up kids from school because they said they won't do transactions over the phone even if you wired cash. Should have known they were scammers. We called 30 min out then 10 minutes out to alert almost at dealership and they sold it as we sat in their waiting lounge for our sales guy supposedly to someone who walked in 15 min after us who they claimed was local and have no idea how she walked in and did paperwork even if a cash deal in 5 minutes. Sales guy claimed he had no idea they were doing this or sold the car while we waited. He then said he thinks the internet sales girl must have done this behind his back because she doesn't like him and knew he had a customer arriving. This dealership puts car sales at an all new low. So sleazy and they actually tried to switch bait us to another car. Since they did not allow anyone to buy a car via docu-sign or wire cash funds it would have been impossibly for even this local woman to purchase this car that quickly. The car inside they claimed was new but it was dirty like someone had been driving it and had gravel on the driver side. We think the sales manager named Oz or possibly the general manager is driving it and using it to lure people in because it is hard to find. All I can say is karma will prevail to people who go out of their way on this level to scam people. We wish we would have read reviews before driving to university Kia in Waco because another Yelp reviewer said he feels like an idiot for driving in from Austin just to be told they sold the car he came for minutes before his arrival. Many other reviewers complained of corruption during finance process and awful service department. BUYER BEWARE read more

I've had literally the worst experiences with Kia's service department. I bought my car brand new and have had nothing but issues with it, any time I take it in I have issues with the advisors. They don't have loaner vehicles and when you ask for them to set it up through enterprise (who they partner with) they wait until day of to get you a reservation which is no help. My transmission sensor went out in my car before 40k miles and they had my car a week with no luck of a loaner. My job requires me to drive constantly so I can't be without a car WHICH WAS EXPRESSED ALL 4 TIMES I SCHEDULED A SERVICE. The most recent adventure I lose control of my car. My steering wheel and breaks lock up and the computer resets which is most definitely a safety hazard and I have kids that are in my car daily. I expressed I needed a car for work and someone finally seemed willing to help and now I've been ghosted which is so great. I had to wait for an appointment for 2 weeks just to look like a no show because he was going to reschedule when they had a car for me. Such a disappointment. They clearly don't give a shit about anyones safety and only care about shutting them up momentarily. Literally save yourself the hassle and headache and don't buy a Kia unless you want to be car less 90% of the time. read more

The moment we pulled into the parking lot of University Kia, Bobby met us outside. He was very friendly and professional. Worst experience buying a car ever!!!! My parents purchased a new car here only after signing papers they screwed up everything from filling out the wrong paperwork to having them come for a 8am Saturday morning service only to find out they don't open till 8:30am.
