I ordered wheel bearings for my 1990 Mustang GT, but the bearings I received were incorrect and would not fit my vehicle. I relied on the fitment information provided when placing the order, so it was very frustrating to discover that the parts were not compatible. Receiving the wrong bearings caused delays in my repair, wasted valuable time, and required additional effort to identify and obtain the correct parts. When ordering automotive components, accurate fitment information is critical, and unfortunately that was not the case here. I hope the product listing and vehicle compatibility data are reviewed and corrected to help prevent other customers from experiencing the same problem. Do not do business with LMR. I ordered a part for my Mustang that was close to $500 - I never received the shipment. I filed a case with LMR, they did nothing to help me. I filed a case with the Better Business Bureau against LMR to try to get my part or my money back and LMR never even responded to the Better Business Bureau. As far as my personal experiences, they have been positive since day one. I have been doing business with this company since they first opened. They have always taken care of me providing great customer service, price matching on products that they might be more expensive on and great selection. They provide free shipping which is awesome to know! They will price match if they are higher than another company as well. Their sales team has always been courteous and knowledgeable. If the person you are talking to doesn't know, they don't mind finding out! I'm not sure about the reviews below. They seem to be a little deceiving. Mark said he paid shipping on a part but they have been doing free shipping for a couple of years now. So it would seem that his review about shipping might be a little dated. I have 2 foxbody cars (notch and hatch). Been throwing a ton of money and parts at the 92 hatch. Spend 2 or 3 thousand on parts at lmr and I have about 1k in parts sitting in boxes for the notch. Getting ready to start on that car soon. Look, my problem with LMR isn't thier customer service, it isn't thier parts available (which comes and goes), it is thier shipping. My issue is the quality of the stuff they sell. I'm tired of it. It's all cheap junk. Every stinking one of my accents are black, the cowl, door handles, metal trim, etc. After one year that stuff is faded near gray. All of it. The tinted headlights are crackling across the lense after just one year. It started several months ago but has since gotten worse. We're just outside the warranty by a few weeks and LMR offered to sell another set at a 7% discount. Seriously? I bought door panels from them and after a few weeks the map cases at the bottom are beginning to pull out. $400+ panels. Not because I use them or anything. I don't put anything in them. The cases are held in with nothing more than staple gun staples. I'm tired of the quality and I'm tired of paying the high prices for it. Heck, I just got a new speed cable and I still can't believe how cheap that thing is. I put it next to the factory cable and believe me, there is a huge difference. My issue with LMR is quality. If you are restoring a car and your going to keep it in the garage or in a special room. You might be ok. If you're going to drive it on occasion (in the sun and sometimes get stuck in rain), your going to have problems. I still can't understand how any respectable car restorer would stand behind these parts at LMR. Done wasting my money. read more

I have given LMR several chances and each time am let down. Their online ordering system is horrible. When I spoke with customer service they had very little knowledge and when I asked to speak to a manager Clint just told me that they would tell me the same thing he did. When I told him I would spend my $3000 somewhere else, he was ok with that. My husband and I spend a lot of money each year as restoration is our career not our hobby. If i could give 0 Stars. It would be 0. Since I shipped it to a different address other than my billing, it took them 3 DAYS to verify my purchase and then had to make a signature required. Although they say it can take extra time to verify you address, I can not imagine it takes 3 days to verify the address. Once that happened I had to take off an hour early from work to make sure I was there to sign for the package (essentially costing me more money because I get paid hourly). Once I had got the shipment in, my mistake of thinking they actually included all of the parts necessary for the installation. Not only was the guide tool missing from the upper grille, it was missing from the lower grille as well (Cervini's Upper and Lower Grille Combo). Now I am not sure if it was Cervini's that dropped the ball or LMR, but now i am stuck with my car in my driveway without a front bumper on waiting for them to sort out this whole fiasco. After what appears to be around 15 emails back and forth between me and people at LMR this still has not been sorted out. Buying through this company has been one of the worst car-part purchasing experiences I have ever had. read more

I purchased an Ultra Clear SVE fox body headlight kit from Latemodel Restoration, and the lenses turned yellow and were peeling within a year, and needed to be replaced after 24 months. When I tried to submit a review with a photo to caution other customers on the company's web site, I learned of Latemodel Restoration's unorthodox and borderline unethical practice of subjecting all reviews to company approval prior to publication. This practice is not disclosed anywhere on the site including the review pages, and there are no published guidelines as to the criteria they use for approval. When I spoke with them on the phone both times I tried to submit a review, they said they will not allow reviews to be posted that they deem unfair or if they consider the product experience to be extreme. Under their stated criteria, they consider leaving a vehicle parked outdoors in Midwestern weather "extreme", and therefore grounds to deny publishing my negative review. Crazy! The review was not negative to the company, only to the product. Now however, I now take serious issue with their deceptive and misleading business practice. Customers should know that the published product reviews only represent a small percentage of the submitted reviews, and many of the negative ones are never published. American Muscle and Summit Racing do not do this. Amazon does not do this. All reviews are published so that customers can get a balanced view of other customer experiences and decide for themselves which ones to take into account. This is the way reviews are supposed to work, and the way most of us assume it is done. I will not do business with Latemodel Restoration again until they discontinue this very misleading, "let's control the message" approach to product reviews. read more

I was initially impressed with the wide variety of parts LMR offers and eagerly ordered some....BIG MISTAKE. Their online order system is terrible and resulted in them canceling most of my order without notification. Imagine how thrilled I was when only half the parts I ordered showed up. The parts that didn't show up were new brake calipers, which I ordered because I need them - this isn't an upgrade to bigger brakes, just replacing worn out ones. So, my brakes never arrived, pushing back the day when I can fix them. Once I figured out they canceled the order for no reason, I tried calling, but they are only open during normal business hours, aka when I'm at work. It's outrageous for an online retailer to not have a bigger call center window for customer service. So I ordered the brakes again. Payment went through, got another confirmation email, and once again, the brakes did not ship when they were supposed to (today). Just checked my credit card, and guess what - order canceled again, and without notification - AGAIN. The part is now backordered for the next 20 days. I can't wait another three weeks to fix my brakes - and based on how unreliable this company is, it would probably take another three months if I were dumb enough to order these brakes for a third time. Late Model Restoration has really put me in a bind and I have no choice but to spend a little more money at one of their competitors who has a solid reputation. I will not be ordering from Late Model Restoration again. read more

I've spent A Lot of money with LMR and they flat out will Not provide a receipt! LMR was good about getting the parts to you quickly.....But getting a receipt for the parts for records or (God forbid) an insurance claim would happen....you might as well be trying to find hens teeth at the bottom of the ocean. If this outfit could provide me receipts of what I actually purchased with the price, they would be 5 Star. When doing all this work to my car I asked my insurance company about insuring my car for more or what do I do?? Their answer just KEEP ALL OF YOUR RECEIPTS for if something were to happen. I spent THOUSANDS of dollars on parts thru LMR and they won't provide Receipts. Everything else they'd be in the 4 to 5 star range. Spend that kind of money and they won't provide any receipts. Placed a 2200$ order by phone. Part of what I asked for was a straight chambered style muffler. The rep recommended the slp "mufflers" I took his advice and went with it. After getting the "mufflers" installed I found they were just as loud as straight pipes. Asked the muffler shop if they knew why and they told me "because they are straight pipes. No baffles no chambers just straight pipes" Had them removed the next day and looked inside and they were correct. The "mufflers" are not mufflers at all just 2.5" into a 4" to a 2.5" out. No baffling or chambers at all. I called the service rep requesting a return and he told me there was nothing he could do because they were already installed and that it was my responsibility to know what I was ordering, but did tell me they changed the description on the website because of my situation. I then spoke to a manager who told me it was my fault and I should have known better but not to worry I could sell them and get my money back. Not sure why I am responsible to get money back on a product that did not match the description of what I had ordered. After several minuets of the manager telling me I was at fault I gave up. They sent me a 25$ gift card which I threw away. If you want straight pipes you don't have to spend 150 to get them, but if you insist on spending that kind of money don't spend it with these jokers. I wish I had not installed the suspension and used the tuner. I would have sent those back as well and given my business to a reputable honest outfit. read more
