The people that work the front desk are unprofessional. They did not speak to me until 45 minutes later right before 15 mins till closing to tell me that they don't take money. I've been coming here for the last four years or maybe even more. If I'm not able to get in quickly to see my primary , this is where we go. The staff has always been helpful, from the receptionist to the doctors. Universal Urgent Care gets at least two stars because their provider Ramesh Patel was extremely accommodating & kind to us. We were referred over from Baby Sightings because they found no heartbeat in our baby & the front desk staff were extremely rude & unprofessional. Whoever checked me in pointed to the word "miscarriage" on my form & actually laughed when she asked me why I was there. Disgusting. If you can't just admit me to get a referral to go to the ER, you don't need to work there. I will never return. Dr. Patel was kind, patient & concerned for me & showed me his sympathy. He was an amazing provider, so I will give them that much. But to the girls at the front desk, do not work in customer service if you can't handle being kind to people who are there. read more

Not the first, nor the second, but our 3rd visit to the hospital. They're unable to figure out what's wrong or causing my wife her symptoms (extreme nausea). She's been unable to eat or drink for the past couple of days (only small sips of water or broth throughout the day). We get here at 1 something in the afternoon and she's not admitted in until past 8 o'clock at night on a Wednesday. No one talks to us or explains anything to us. We wait, and wait, and wait, but are not called until late. It's a horrible experience when not a single staff member says a single thing to someone waiting for over 7 hours at the ER!! I live on Maui. My brother took advice from the staff and made this clinic his primary care office. I call to check on him because he has high blood pressure and recently had some tests done. It took 3 weeks before he could get his test results for colon cancer. THREE WEEKS!!? It has also taken several days to get prescriptions filled where he has run out of meds for his blood sugar endangering his health. I called at 9 am and stated I had a large gash on my left leg and explained that it would require stitches, I was told that the doctor would be there at 6 when I got off to perform the procedure,when I arrived at 6:15 I was dismissed and treated like a second class citizen I was made to feel humiliated and like a dog . I liked most of the front desk staff here but the place seemed not too clean and they were pretty lax with Covid guidelines. The doctor didn't wash his hands or wear gloves and he did not have an N95 mask on, his cloth mask kept falling down as he was taking. I had an okay visit, but medical professionals here should really be taking the virus most seriously. I gave their visit notes to my primary care doctor during our follow up and we were laughing at how I went in for a soar throat and the doctor wrote a paragraph about my heart and chest (which he didn't check) but nothing about what I went in for. Checked in with my son, they put us down as a walk in which I didn't realize until another person after me checked in and triple checked they had her down as an appointment as she waited the day prior for two hours before realizing there was an error.. I went up to have them go over insurance information for me and I asked if they had us as an appointment. The receptionist proceeded to tell me that they don't have any way of knowing if we have an appointment unless I told her.l upon initial check in. My first thought is well then anyone can come in and say they have an appointment, also wouldn't this be a question you would ask each person as they come in? No, obviously not because this generation lacks... what's it called? Oh yes, that's correct. Common sense. I find stuff like this irritating. PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU GO! Attention To Office Manager: Gloria I went to this Urgent Care with my wife because she needed to have TB testing done for her work. She CALLED the office before visiting them to see how much it would cost. The front staff told us on the phone that it was be $30 out of pocket for the testing without using any insurance. Since my wife and I have $75 copay per visit, we decided to just pay out of pocket and pay $30 for the TB testing. When we got there, the front staff asked if we are using any insurance and we said no because we will be paying $30 out of pocket price for the TB testing since it would be cheaper than using my copay and pay $75. The front staff kept asking why we don't want to use insurance and that they would call for us to make sure. We agreed since it was a simple call. The front staff spoke got off the phone and told us that they spoke with insurance and got authorization and that we DON'T have to pay ANYTHING. We thought it was incorrect, but they kept saying that we will not have ANY copay for the visit and the insurance will take care of it. So after the visit, we did not pay any copay and left. TWO WEEKS later, I received a bill for the $75 copay. We called the office right away and no one would help us. They kept transferring us and eventually told us the manager would call us back. REMEMBER this is what we wanted to avoid and that is why we called BEFORE seeing them and we double checked at the office to make sure 100% is covered if not WE WILL PAY $30 for the visit and NOT use my insurance. We asked the receptionist multiple times to double check but she said there is no issue and you don't have anything to pay. So today, the manager calls us back. Her name is Gloria. Gloria said that there is NOTHING she can do. She said the staff told you wrong information, but since we were already seen they cannot do anything about it. My wife asked if she can back out the insurance and we will GLADLY come and pay $30 for the bill instead but she wouldn't. The reason why she wouldn't was because on my bill it stated that the insurance paid the Urgent Care $44. So they already received $44 plus now they want me to pay extra $75? So in total, the urgency care would receive $119 instead of my $30 I could have paid without using my insurance. We were hesitant on using our insurance for this reason and now we got stuck with a $75 bill that they will not zero out even though the insurance already paid them $44! Gloria was rude and had no sympathy for her employee's mistake. Do you understand that WE WERE LIED TO? I cannot believe that Gloria would not either zero out our balance or back out our insurance. We even told Gloria that we will gladly pay the $30 if you back out the insurance. She said that it is not possible because we already saw the doctor. The thing that Gloria doesn't know is that my wife and I are both DOCTORS. We know insurance claims can be backed out. So this showed that Gloria didn't care to help us from their own mistake and wanted to suck as much money as possible. She literally said, "they did nothing wrong." Those were her exact words...Is lying to your patient really nothing wrong? Since I'm a doctor with my own private practice, I know how insurances work and for her to just brush us off and not even try to understand our side of the story was just ridiculous. We even asked if there is anyone else above her that we can speak to and she said there is no one else and she can't help us anymore and hung up. Moral of the story: make sure you know copay because they will purposely not make you pay a copay and tell you EVERYTHING is covered. Then bill you later and tell you that nothing can be done. I cannot believe this type of service even exist and a manager who has no heart and won't do the right thing which is to own up to their mistake. We have been deceived and lied to by this urgent care and by the manager Gloria. As a provider, I have to start warning to my patients about this urgent care because this is not right. So if you're a patient, please go elsewhere. There are plenty of nearby urgent cares you can go. PLEASE be careful and know your insurance if you do because they will always try and get more money out of you. And even if it's a mistake, they will not fix it and give you a lie that it cannot be backed out. I am a doctor and trust me everyone, YOU CAN BACK OUT A CLAIM. read more

I came in February to get a TB test & N95 fit test. They told me they would not take my insurance for these services and that I'd have to pay up front, no problem. Paid cash, got my PPD, did the test, and went about my business. The problems started when I came to have my TB results read. If you're in medicine, you know this is a 1min task at most; however, I waited an hour & I was the only patient in the waiting room. When I finally went to the back, I saw that the holdup was due to the doctor chatting with the rest of the staff. HIGHLY inconsiderate, but whatever. A month later, I began receiving bills in the mail for an unpaid TB test, despite having paid cash for all services beforehand. I called the billing department on 4 separate occasions to dispute the charge, and they assured me it was resolved, but kept sending bills! I finally had time to dispute it in person, and was told that once and for all the issue would be settled, only to receive a new bill 1 week later for BOTH the TB test and fit test! Whoever works in billing is grossly incompetent, and I'm tired of being harassed over bills I ALREADY PAID for services poorly rendered. Update: called again to have it sorted, and the employee of the year on the phone said that because they have no record of my payment, they'd keep sending me bills. Whoever was working the day I got tested must have been running a charity. Furthermore, I was told that the person who could help me would call me back, and she never did. Update 2: I went in person again and someone competent finally opened their receipt book (what a concept) & found the carbon copy of the receipt proving I paid in full! After months of being told they had NO record of my payment. And in the end, the people from billing didn't even come out to apologize after months of nonsense and dodging my calls. Billing staff are extremely incompetent and oddly defensive for a group so blatantly unwilling to do their job. 10/10 don't recommend coming here. read more

Your health and money are at risk! Decided to try a new place. Went in to get my covid symptoms treated. They said I couldn't be treated without having a test to confirm it. Did the test, positive, and they sent me home with NOTHING! What a joke. Literally deceived me into getting a test and didn't even check me physically. Had the nerve to tell me I didn't look like I would have an infection. How? How would they know if they didn't even check to hear my lungs or see my throat!? That is just basic care!!! Which I did not receive. When I explained my confusion about the visit, the physician told me "I'm not going to argue with you" are you serious?? All I got from this physician was huffs and puffs of disagreements. Front desk was amazing, but the physician was useless!!! Niles street COVID testing location is really not organized. They expect us to move forward after a car leaves the first row parking when there is already another car waiting to park. It should go back to the old system before when a person calls to check in, and they write down the number and make and model of the car they are in. Been waiting for an hour and got skipped 3 times. Never mind the fact that your equipment is out of date and the medical assistant does not know how to take a simple reading. Complete incompetence! I took my mother in on Monday night because she had fallen and hurt her wrist. I had also injured my back trying to help her up, but the staff completely ignored me. They xrayed mom's wrist, saw it was broken, put a splint on it and sent her home with an appointment with an orthapedist for the next morning. They would not even look at me. four days later, when I was able to get help, I went in to get my back xrayed because it was not getting better. The Dr. asked me a couple of questions, but did not even look at me. Said she wanted an xray, and to stay in the room and the tech would come get me. Meanwhile she would call in a Rx for a muscle relaxant. I sat there for an hour before I stuck my head out the door to ask what the problem was. No xray tech. He is "on his way". 30 minutes later I went out again to hear that he is stuck, and they have to send me to a radiologist down the road. Traveled down the road for the xray and then went to Costco to pick up the Rx. No Rx. Went home, called Universal about the Rx, and was told she would call it in when she finished with her current patient. It had been 4 hours at this point. I called again in the morning to confirm that the Rx had been called in. "Yes ma'm, to CVS on Ming. I reminded them that me preferred pharmacy, written on my paperwork, was Costco on Rosedale. They obviously don't read. I have been on hold for an hour trying to get the Dr. to tell me the results of the xray. An hour later, once lawyers we mentioned Dr. Patel actually picked up the phone and was very helpful. Does anyone but me think it was a threat of legal action that inspired it? read more

The receptionist took my name and number and told me that I would be contacted within 24-48 hours. It has been 6 days and I have not received a call from the facility. If I could give zero stars, I would! My 2 year old daughter tested positive for strep one week ago and was given amoxicillin which she has never taken before. One week later, she started with a horrible rash head to toe with no fever, no decreased appetite, she was acting totally normal, nothing different besides being covered in a rash. I returned back to urgent care and saw PA Fernando who walked in and without even introducing himself he says "OMG, that is SO horrible!! How horrible is that rash!!!" As a mother, that is not the first thing you want to hear out of a providers mouth. Without even touching my daughter or evaluating her, he tells us to take her to ER immediately because " he doesn't know what this rash is" then proceeds to say " well it might be scarlet fever but she has no fever so I don't know, just go to ER." He didn't even care to listen about my daughter's past history of strep one week ago or take in the possibility of it being an antibiotic reaction. I tried explaining the past history from this last week and he didn't even care to listen, and kept cutting me off pushing to go to ER. He stated "if this was my daughter, I would take her to ER." After consulting with her doctor, we came to the conclusion it IS a reaction the antibiotic and we WILL NOT be back to this facility. read more
