I received the worst medical care at Priority Urgent Care on Calloway. I sustained injuries to my left side from a crash on my mountain bike. I went for x-rays and an examination. After the x-rays their Nurse Practitioner came in and told me the x-rays were negative. He asked if I lost consciousness. I said No but that I was disoriented right after the crash, but did not hit my head and it was now 48 hours after the crash and I had no symptoms of a head injury. He informed me Liam Neeson's wife died 3 days after hitting her head and that I needed to go to the Emergency Room and get a brain CT Scan in case I had a brain bleed, which I had no symptoms of. I asked if he could give me a shot for the non stop very serious pain and a prescription. He said no in case I had a brain bleed. I also had a cut on my cheekbone which I took off my glasses and showed him from a distance. He never examined me during the whole visit. He never got closer than arm's distance and he never even checked my facial cut for infection or to clean it. He literally did nothing about my serious injuries. I filed a grievance through Priority Urgent Care and followed that up within a day or two with another email and I also called multiple locations trying to speak to a manager. I've called over 5 times and left my name and number to have a manager call me back. It's 3 weeks later and they still have not contacted me about my grievance, or to follow up. I want to add that they did waive my copay 2 days later so I could go to their Panama location and the doctor there did an exam and gave me a pain shot and prescription for pain meds. He ordered an MRI, which apparently never got sent in or Stockdale Radiology never submitted it to my insurance. So I had to pay $349 out of pocket to get an MRI. Priority Urgent Care has failed in every aspect in my care as well as following up to address my grievance. If I could have given 0 stars or negative stars I would have done that. Absolutely the worst medical care or really lack of care and they truly don't seem to care in the least bit or they would have contacted me. read more

Upon entering, the ladies don't greet you, one on her phone the other typing away, she asks if you have an appointment I say no so they say to check in on the iPad do that. All sick and contaminated, you touch what another person did and just spread more germs. They call you up and have you sign a paper that says they need a card on file they don't charge you, but just in case they have that. I don't like that, so whatever isn't covered under insurance then they charge is basically what that means. It tells you you can have an appointment right away. I got there 940, and it offered me 945, so I took it. I didn't get seen until 1040, almost an hour. Got seated the Medical Assiant that helped me and took vitals sweet! I wish I got her name, but I am so sick. I wasn't paying much attention she also helped me inside the room with covid test and flu test, and strep you rock are sweet. Keep it up. The phycian on call was very attending, observing and handling everything great. He explained what I would be getting and said it was safe during pregnancy he said I could start taking it right away and let me go on my way. Used to be our go to place. But the last few months they've gone to shit. Don't bother making an appointment- they don't care, you'll still wait for at least an hour or more past your appointment time because they put walk ins ahead of you. Don't bother calling- they just hang up on you or give you attitude like you're bothering them by making them do their job. Don't try talking to the ladies up front- they're so rude and if you do get them to talk to you they're so full of attitude. The last few months they've taken away some seating so you've either got to sit in your car, stand, or sit on the floor. You have to go through all this just for the provider to talk over you and rush through the appointment. If you do the telehealth appointment it's not too terrible and those doctors seem to listen and take their time. But not every health issue can be seen over video. read more

It has been a shame watching Priority Urgent Care change over the years. The medical staff working in the clinics as well as the providers have always been great. However, management and other aspects not directly involved in patient care have really made it hard for me to truly want to seek further care here. I was last seen in 3/2024. Well over a year and a half later, I am getting billed for the visit. My bill was posted less than 24 hours ago and I have received 2 emails, constant reminders from the patient portal, and even automated phone calls reminding me to pay this bill. When I called to ask how this was delayed for so long, the billing office was unhelpful, very short with me, and blamed me for not contacting my insurance. I am in a different point in my life now than I was a year and a half ago, as I am now a student pursuing higher education and living on student loans. This bill will place significant stress on my finances, but I could have easily covered it nearly two years ago when I was working. I was once inspired by how well this practice was run and how well they cared for underserved patients in the place that I called home. It is extremely disappointing to see how the culture has shifted over the last 5+ years. I will no longer be recommending PUC to anyone. I hope something changes in the future. read more

I cut my hand on 1/12, went to see if I needed stitches or glue on 1/13. I got glue and was told not to wet my hand for 24 hrs, which I did not. On 1/15 the glue started coming off so I went back to see if they could just stitch it or glue it again. Each time I walked in and made my appointment and was taken back, only to wait at least 45 minutes both days. They made me wait almost an hour only to come in and tell me that they weren't going to do anything and blame me for the glue coming off, saying that I should have splinted or taped my fingers together due to the nature and area of the cut. I have had my fingers bandaged together the whole time and waited the time they told me until I could get my hand wet. I paid 20 dollars to sit in a room and then not be helped. The only positive about the experience was the receptionist who was very nice, most of the other staff I saw need to work on their bedside manner. read more

Husband had the first appt of the day at 8am. They took walk ins before him.. he was not happy. He also did not get seen until after 845am. There was another lady who was called up for insurance after my husband was at the desk, she asked how much longer is the wait her appointment was at 815 and it was 845 already. The lady at the desk tells her she'll be next... which means they'll call my husband after. Husband also said the receptionists were horrible and rude. Him being sick, had no energy or no fight to bring this to their attention he just wanted to get in and get out. They need to do better. read more

I normally like this place but today I was there for 3 HOURS and I had an appointment. I went in for chest congestion and cough so they did a Covid/flu test. Girl ask if I wanted to wait, it would take 15 minutes, I told her yes. Well, an hour later I walked out of the room and asked if they had my results and they rudely told me yes but to wait. Both were negative but the Dr wanted to do a x-ray but the tech wouldn't be in until 10, this was 9:45 so I figured I would wait some more (granted my appointment was at 8:15)! 10:30...I go back out in the hall "oh she'll be here in 10 minutes". When she finally came to get me I realized something...she wasn't just coming in, she was there when I got there at 8 but was leaving when they took me back and just had gotten back. I was confused and explained my employment was suppose to have paid it. Worst place to get a COVID test. Worst place to go to. Please do not go here or any other Priority Urgent Care place. Accelerated Urgent Care may have made news about having dumb fuck doctors saying COVID isn't serious, but at least they will provide results faster than this slog place. Turn around time was 3-6 days and they wait until the very last day and the very last minute to let you know your result. Meanwhile, you're stuck at home, not knowing the result, having to have groceries delivered etc. They just do not care. read more

Front desk - rude. After putting people on hold for excess of five min then have the attitude like you're bothering them by having them do their jobs. I took my son in there for knee pain. the dr said it was just growing pains. he gave him a knee brace and told me that it was covered by my insurance. I just got a $300 bill for a $750 knee brace. if they were honest with me I would of declined it and went down to Walgreens and bought the same knee brace for $40. read more

I don't recommend coming here at all. Made an appointment online through the Solv app. Waited 2 hours past our appointment time to get into a room. When I went to check in with the receptionist at the front (glasses, Chantelle I think is the name), she was falling asleep while checking us in and was not coherent at all. Kept asking me my son's name. She acted like she couldn't find our appointment. Meanwhile the three different patients behind us were checked in before us. I finally said, "you are obviously having a hard time finding us" and stepped over to the other receptionist who found us immediately and got us checked in. Waited with a small child and managed to keep him entertained until they called us back to get his vitals. But that's all it was, to get vitals because there were no rooms available. Noticed some bugs on the floor in the area where the nurse took his vitals. See pic below. Told the nurse that I wanted to speak with the office manager regarding the front office receptionist. There was no one there to speak to but I did get a call from someone who works at Priority and got the manager's email address. The receptionist finally spoke to the patients in the room (also with appointments and also waiting since I had been) and told us there was a patient who needed more attention and that there was only one doctor available. She continued to say that they had already called their other locations and they also had a two hour wait. To which we all decided to continue to wait it out since we were in the queue already. Yes, I'm a klutz; I've learned to live with it. Knowing the location of the nearest good urgent care facility is just part of life for me. This location, on the Northwest corner of Calloway and Meacham, used to be affiliated with Sendas Urgent Care, and I visited them multiple times each year under that name. I have now had several opportunities to make return visits since they split off from the original partnership and became Proximity MD and I am happy to report that they continue to give excellent service. The waiting room is comfortable and has both a television set and free wifi to help distract you from whatever pain or discomfort caused you to have to visit in the first place. The ladies manning the intake at the front counter are friendly yet efficient. They keep everyone moving through the process of filling out forms and getting signed in. Proximity continues to take my Insurance with only the standard minimum copay that my regular doctor would charge. The doctors are quite competent and have an approachable bedside manner. The examination rooms are clean and always kept at a comfortable temperature. My latest visit was due to a burning pain that would creep up from my ankle and at odd times over a period of weeks the ankle would roll out from under me causing me to trip and fall. Within minutes of seeing the doctor, I was getting x-rayed in the room next door. I can't tell you how relieved I was when the doctor assured me there were no breaks or fractures in the bones, simply swelling from a bad sprain and he gave me advice to speed the healing. I was in and out of here start to finish in about 30 minutes. I can't even get in to see my regular doctor in that amount of time and they would have had to send me elsewhere to get x-rays done and then additional visits to have the doctor deliver this information. I came here because I was in great pain on a Saturday morning (why do I always injure myself on evenings or weekends? Why?) when my regular doctor's office wasn't open, but frankly they were more efficient and saved me time and money in the long run over a regular doctor visit. OK so maybe I'm spoiled when it comes to going to my Dr. but this last time I was shocked to find out (after I impaled my foot on a rusty nail) that my family doctor does not give tetanus shots and hasn't since 2005. What the heck? Called the Pharmacy, they said no go there so I called my insurance who sent me to Sendas Northwest Urgent Care. The guy at the insurance company told me he goes here and they are really fast. I thought he was blowing smoke, but I had no other option. I dropped in around 2pm. The place was immaculate! I mean CLEAN. There was a section with Disney Jr. playing for people with kids, and another with a TV for adults. NICE. I got up to the counter and had my credit card, insurance card, and ID ready. The girl there was very pleasant. She asked me to have a seat and she would call me shortly. Yeah... right... I was SO WRONG! A couple minutes later there I am filling out the forms and the forms are even well organized and easy! What strange universe am I in when Urgent Care is fast and easy? I took about 5 minutes to fill out the forms and gave them back. By the time I sat down again they were already calling my name. Vitals done fast and straight into the room. I hadn't been in the room for a few minutes when the doctor came in. Super nice guy. Good with my daughter. Talked with me. Looked at the foot. Asked a couple questions and offered me the tetanus shot. Thanks doc! He steps out, a couple minutes later the nurse steps in, bada bing, bada boom, I'm out. I'm in shock. Made an appointment to get my 97 year old mother a COVID test. Appointment was for 3pm. At 4pm, I went inside inside to ask how long it would be until she was seen, we were told there were still two people ahead of us. At 4:45, I went to ask again and was told there was one person ahead of us. I asked how long it would be until she would be seen. They told me it would be at least another 45 minutes to an hour. I asked them what was the point of making an appointment if it we were going to have to wait 3 hours. They had no response. We left and will never use their services again. Horrible service. Had 2:40 appointment for COVID test. Did not get called into office until almost 4:30. Sat in office exam cubicle for another 30 minutes before test which was performed in about 60 seconds. When I went into the office there were multiple employees standing around sharing cell info. Thought was very unprofessional. After 4 days not receiving a call, I had to call them multiple times to get results as they did not answer their phone. When I did get a hold of them they indicated negative results. Online info says they are supposed to call you. I would not use this facility again! read more

Proximity Urgent Care is a 5/5 for me! The staff is very helpful which made my visit a happy and convenient one. They are quick and efficient. I'd never thought I'd leave a doctors office happy but they sure proved me wrong. Their available services made me glad that I went there because I don't think I could've gotten these results anywhere else! While my old primary doctor wouldn't be available to see me for another two weeks, I was able to get the help I needed at no wait at Proximity! read more

After being sick for a couple weeks, I finally broke down and went to Sendas Northwest Urgent Care in SW Bakersfield on Ming Ave. I don't have insurance, so I called before and asked about rates. They were very upfront about the cost, $150 to see a doctor. I called other urgent care places, and $150 was the lowest. My friend also recommended Sendas to me, and I'm glad that I took her advice. I got to see a doctor about five minutes after filling out paperwork. The waiting room was comfortable, and I enjoyed watching "Toy Story" on TV. The doctor, I think it was Dr.Chavez, was very nice. He informed me that my cold had turned into a sinus infection. He told me that I could buy the medicine from his office or get a prescription. I got a prescription, and then later returned to his office, because the pharmacist's price quote of the medication was higher than Sensas. I went back to Sensas and got the medication from them, thus saving around $8. If I get sick and go back to Sendas, the office visit will be $100. The $150 is for the initial visit. read more

In dire need of a cure for my chest cold I found this place just down the street from my parent's house. Very clean, very easy. I was in and out with a minimal amount of pain with a nice round of antibiotics. Staff was friendly and pleasant, not all stressed out and annoyed like most urgent care centers. Wait was short and I didn't feel like I was going to catch worse stuff from the other patients. Highly recommend if you're in the area. read more
