The office staff itself can be pretty hit-or-miss; it's a typical doctor's office. I do like that if you need blood work you can either do it in the office or walk a couple of buildings down to Quest Diagnostics. They can bill your co-pay to you, but if your bill goes over what's included in your insurance plan, have some Advil handy because it's seriously a headache trying to get a hold of these people just so you can get on a payment plan. They also have a website that you can log in to to pay your bill, but it doesn't always work.

We transitioned over to Dr. Deltoro-Diaz and I was very appreciative of the type of care she provides. Since a teen I struggled with weight issues and even had weight loss surgery 2001, so when I had to move to a new doctor, all of the unpleasantness came into play. I always hated when a doctor would not listen to what I am going through but with Dr. Deltoro-Diaz, she listened and talk through it all. Besides my doctor, the staff is always extremely friendly and welcoming. It wasn't until recently that one of the staff just didn't seem motivated to answer some questions I had regarding my insurance and authorizations. When it comes to ones own health, you cannot tread lightly with it and when it comes to your wife and kids, you want the very best care possible. After several days, you still need to call the office, if you can get anyone to answer the phone to make the appointment. Send an email - no response. Communication is not very good. I called to inquire about becoming a new patient, but I was immediately placed on hold, and my call was disconnected twice before I even had the opportunity to ask a question. When I finally spoke with someone and mentioned that my call had been disconnected twice, the woman responded in a very rude and snarky tone, stating that they were busy and that was why I had been placed on hold. I understand that medical offices get busy, but that is no excuse for poor customer service. I then explained that I was interested in scheduling an appointment with Dr. Del Toro Diaz, only to be told abruptly, "We aren't taking new patients." Went to this doctor for a PCP first visit. The first visit was told I could only bring up two…read morethings by staff. Then when the doctor came in for the first visit he interrupted me after asking me what brought me in I started going over my medical ailments. He interrupted me within 11 seconds of my telling him my medical history and said we are not going to do that. He could only address two items in a single visit. Which ended up causing a potentially worse issue down the road because I had an ear infection that was put way down on the (two items) list. So I had to schedule an emergency appointment with them. (They were able to fit me in the next day) Which cost me another copay and more expensive medication that could have simply been taken care of at the first visit. Then I asked them to certify I have a spinal stimulator in my back and they said they would only do the form and not click on a link that is a PGE URL. I get him and his reluctance to click on a link from a client. However, there are ways to see if a link is malicious. I'm sure he has IT! So if your medical professional doesn't hit the nail on the head on the first swing, go back and let them take another try. Each time they see you they are accumulating more information about your healthcare that will help them help you. Eat right, exercise and get plenty of rest. They do not answer the phone and the "system" puts you on hold for totally unreasonable amounts of time. I am writing this on a Tuesday and I have spent almost two hours on hold since last Friday. They can and should do better. Sorry, unprofessional service. No one has time to wait 45 minutes on hold. We are working, earning money to pay for health insurance and co-pays.
