UPDATE: I never received a call from Dr. Farr are his office, the office cancelled me in their system because of my review. Now they are refusing to give me my test results, which they received as Dr on record. I don't know where the OLD staff went but this new model of business is challenging. I'm going to keep using pray and I will be going into their office today! read more

OMFG...Stay away from Farr Medical Group. I'm only staying with them for now because I'll be switching over to Medicare later this year and why make more changes than necessary. But, I called to make an appointment yesterday. There voicemail says you can either wait for an available representative or you can go online and request an appointment. No emergency so I went to their website and made the request. Haven't heard anything back so I called them today. I waited for a representative and asked how long it takes to hear back using the online appointment system. She says that system is disabled. DISABLED. Doesn't work. So why the he** do you direct people to use it. She doesn't know. I used to sing the praises of Dr Farr, but this place has gone downhill fast over the past few years. read more

I've been a long time patient of Farr medical group and have not been super impressed with the Dr.'s there recently or the staff. My last straw was that i had an appointment scheduled with a NP there for an annual exam and to get bloodwork ordered and i was early for my appt and did my intake and then waited in a room for over 40 minutes and not one person came in to tell me the NP was running way behind schedule. I finally had to leave because i was on my lunch break and had to get back to my job so i jet her assistant know that o couldn't wait any longer and she just said "I'll let her know and if you want to reschedule let the girls at the front know" there was no I'm so sorry or let me see if she's about to be ready for you or anything of that sort. It was extremely frustrating and disappointing and just goes to show that they don't value their patients. I emailed the office after i left letting them know my frustrations and that i really needed to get bloodwork done and no one even took the time to respond so after all that i will be finding a new provider and would not recommend this practice to anyone. I'm sure I'll still get billed for the appointment or they'll find a way to charge me since it seems like all they care about is their bottom line. read more

DO NOT come here. I advise you. After Julie Picking left, this office is horrible. Front desk are rude. Doctors are greedy and so arrogant. My husband went in for an appointment and said he's never been treated so horribly by Campos. Refused to ever return. I then called to try to get in as I have not been and they scheduled me an appointment.. well I never got a reminder so I called them day of to confirm and the office manager gets on the phone and says they will not allow me to come back as a a patient as I've went elsewhere for a doctor. I said well who put me down for an appointment and supposedly "Lexi" did and was not supposed to since she didn't have the data. Umm this just sounds like bad business NOT healthcare. Basically be loyal to us or get lost. So crazy. Find a different doctor so you won't get random bills from them for years. read more

Awful service. Staff and office manager Becky don't care about patient care, evidence based medicine, or treating patients with compassion- even if they're being difficult. The goodwill associated with the brand of this practice in Bakersfield was built exclusively by Dr Farr. He's no longer accessible to 95% of patients at the practice....the practice manager guards his access with great care and attention to the amount of money you can afford to pay lol. He has a concierge service now that a finite number of patients pay $3k or so a year in cash, in addition to insurance and regular medical expenses, to get access to him. That's the only way you can see him....if you pay the toll. That should tell you everything you need to know about the culture and focus within the practice these days. It's about money and transactions.....you'll wait when you call in, you'll wait longer when you get to the practice to check in, and you'll wait once more in the exam room for your "provider." The providers, in my experience, are like robots, programmed to process people and input billing codes for insurance billings. If you vocalize or express your frustration, disappointment, or honest opinion the PM is willing to terminate you on the spot- which violates patient abandonment laws, by the way! She did that to me two weeks ago when I asked for a referral for an ear infection, and what turned out to be a benign tumor in my ear that will require surgery. They wanted to me come see them, and I wanted a referral because I had dealt with this issue a couple years ago and they spent 8 months telling me there was nothing wrong, performing procedures, and giving me medicine that made my ear worse bc they mis diagnosed the condition THREE TIMES. I found a new practice a few days after she terminated me- and for three weeks I've been ignored and hung up on everytime I try to get my medical records to my new practice. I'm not kidding you, the PM actually hung up on me several times and instructed her staff do the same. How is that not willful negligence!?? I'm absolutely confident that they contributed to the deterioration of my ear condition and permanent hearing loss that was just confirmed in my left ear. The only blessing in this nightmare with Becky the PM and Farr Medical is that my new practice at Dignity Health (general office off San Dimas St) is AMAZINGGG!! It was like a different universe I have no idea why i subjected myself to the substandard care and treatment at this practice for so long. There was virtually no wait. The staff enjoys their patients and what they do and it shows. And my new primary sat down at our first appt and said the words, "I'm going to ask you a lot of questions because I want to get to know you so I can help you." I never heard that at Farr. She not only diagnosed my left ear right away, got me on antibiotics, and referred me to an audiologist, but she also discovered a fungal infection in my right ear. She took the time to use their proprietary evidence based diagnosis tool to show me what she saw in my right ear that concerned her. She did that while her staff was cleaning out that ear to help ease the congestion. She then prescribed an anti fungal solution that she's had good success with. I was dealing with two ear infections when Becky at Farr Medical refused to provide me care and then terminated me as a patient with no notice or effort to help me treat a worsening condition while I found a new doctor. She did that because she didn't like the conversation we had. I was mad and upset and she had absolutely no idea why and instead of trying to de escalate and understand why I was defensive and frustrated she power tripped and basically fired me. She then proceeded to hang up on me 3-5 times in a row...and revoked my access to my medical records online and refused to help me transfer my medical records. What kind of self respecting practice administrator in the medical profession behaves that way!?? That is unacceptable for anyone that makes a living managing a business that provides a service to customers. read more

Our family has been coming to Farr Medical Group for about 4 years. We've never had a bad experience and from our 1st visit through my visit today today. I see Dr Campos and my experience has been great. She spends as much time as needed during my visits to address any of my concerns, I don't feel rushed. My family sees Dr Campos but we have had visits with Dr Farr (also amazing) and the NP's (also amazing). The nurses and office staff are always happy and extremely helpful. At one point in time here, we were trying to get my daughter's medication approved through our insurance which kept denying a medication. Dr Campos and her medical assistants did a fantastic job working with us and the insurance till we got a remedy to our situation. I'm glad we found Farr Medical! read more

And if it is a charge I should've been advised of this when the note was requested not a week and a half later when I call to try and locate the note that I need. I contacted the doctors office to be seen for a crisis situation. I was told I would need to wait a week and a half to see anybody. I ended up being seen out of state, since that was easier. after being treated out-of-state i was referred to my general practitioner again-at Dr. Farr's office. It took over a month to be seen then dr campos refused to accept the delegation of continued care and referred me elsewhere, without providing documentation of that to my disability provider. upon follow up w manager Becky, farrs office will no longer complete EDD forms since covid. all this has caused delays in my care and caused me to lose disability benefits for the month of July, 2023. read more

My husband starting seeing Dr Farr a couple of years ago and had excellent service. But now he wants to start charging $1800 a year to keep his service. Um NO!! That's why we pay for insurance. Abysmal standard of care. Staff seems unable or unwilling to help with basic questions and follow-up from the patient. They do not listen to patients. They do not follow through on what they say they will do, including in terms of care and keeping in touch with patients to monitor outcomes. After attending my appointment and providing labs to get a prescription refill. They told me to make a different appointment for a refill. After being in an car accident i had PA Patel examine me and after the examination she said ill will order X Ray's. Moments later walks in and states she cannot order X Ray's becuase her office manager told her it would require another doctors appointment. This office has become ridiculous with making a appointment for every single item that could be handled in one visit. All this back and foruth just to tack on another insurance charge. I mean why charge only once when you can break down the visit into 4 different co pays right? Example: Diabetes, Visit one: what's wrong? Need medication. Visit two: get labs done. Visit three: read labs. All of these can be handled in one visit especially since lab work is already done prior to the first visit! Horrible medical facility. Administrative staff returns calls 2 weeks later and always refer back to "our policy states" .... policy's are made to milk your insurance and not care for patients. Don't go here this medical practice went down hill. don't recommend! The only good thing this place has going for them is Julie Picking! She is nothing short of wonderful. She cares about her patients. She wants to legitimately help her patients and does! I wish she would leave this practice. This office is a mess. They're unorganized, they don't call patients back with test results, don't return calls, don't update their patient portal, don't answer their phones and put you on hold as soon as they answer their phones. This morning they let their phones ring for 8 minutes before automatically putting me on hold for another 10 and this was the third time I tried today. After a total of half an hour trying to get my results I was told "they're normal. Click". Gee thanks so much. When I called last week for my test results I was told "hmmm they are definitely ready I don't know why no one has read them" seriously? Also the dr Campos is not empathetic whatsoever. My parents are both in their 80s and my dad has Alzheimer's. I scheduled their appointment for the same day since I manage their care and asked if they can be seeing together. They stated that the provider only sees one patient in the room at a time. Very difficult for them and me my dad can't wait in the waiting room by himself or wait long periods of time and my mother need someone with her. Their internal medicine physician retired and always helped me with our situation. The provider was great with my patients. Just a hard situation I'm in. Only leaving this review because of the most pleasant appointment I think I have ever had with a physician. FNP Julie Picking really cares about patients and LISTENS to your concerns. I have had bad experiences in the past where I feel like the doctor just sees you as a number and wants to rush you out the door to see the next patient. With Julie, that did not happen. She was attentive, caring and best bed side manner I think more doctors should approach. She listened to every one of my concerns, offered great medical advice and really came up with a good game plan to improve my health. I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders knowing I had someone to talk to and she was doing her absolute best to help my medical needs. If you have a problem and need to see a doctor, you should not go to Farr Medical Group because you will not see a doctor. You will see, at best, a nurse practitioner with very little experience. Based on my experience they nurses are dismissive and arrogant. They can't even pronounce words like "planters fasciitis" correctly. They don't want to hear about your unique circumstances. They don't know or care about why your problem exists. They simply write referrals because that is the only thing they have the ability to do. If you want to see a doctor, avoid Farr Medical Group like the plague. read more

Office staff is rude & in accommodating. This office is still requiring masks, yet doesn't have any for patients to wear. I was asked to leave and go somewhere else to find a mask before I could return. They wouldn't check me in for my appointment until I had a mask. Please note the date, it is May 2022. Masks are no longer required on airlines, let any other place of business. I understand a doctor's offices making different rules, however, they should be fully equipped with masks for their patients if that is their policy. As a health care provider, it is shameful that they would turn away a patient because they didn't have a mask and the office refused to provide one. Get it together Farr Medical Group. read more

Farr Medical Group is by far the best medical practice I have ever been to. As a retired paramedic, and unfortunately someone who suffers from asthma, as many of us in the valley do, I have found the providers, especially Kori Williams, to be extremely attentive to my needs. Throughout this "shelter in place" time, they have been available for telemedicine visits, which has helped immensely. I have been a patient of this office for about 9 years and have had nothing but issues with them. You would think with medical records being electronic now, and right at your doctor's fingertips, they wouldn't have such a hard time 'remembering' what your allergies, etc. are. It leads me to wonder why every single time I go in I have to tell the Dr. what medications I take (that she prescribes), what I take them for (explained during every visit and documented) and why I need them refilled. Case in point, I have had insomnia my entire life and have had to take sleeping medication for years. I also take some Xanax every once in awhile for depression but when a new Dr. started in the practice, she would no longer allow me to have the Ambien and put me on something called Belsomra because 'it was safer and wouldn't cause me to have suppressed breathing and possibly cause me to stop breathing in my sleep'. Alright, noted, thanks! Then last year my insurance would no longer cover the Belsomra so magically it was okay for me to take the Ambien again with my Xanax. Hunh, amazing coincidence! When I called for refills they told me I could not have them unless I came in. Okay? However, the DAILY, EXTREMELY INTENSE migraine medication I have been on for the last 6 years, when they put me on it, I was given strict instructions that I would need a blood test every 6 months to make sure my body was handling it well. How many blood tests do you think I have had for that? How many times do you think that has been refilled without me being seen? Hmmmmm. I called this morning for refills because I can not get over the Grapevine to come in because of bad weather and was refused. I have often times been left without my medication for weeks. read more

After deciding to change my health insurance coverage I had to change doctors. Because of this I asked for my medical records. When I picked up my records, I started to read the notes and, in the notes,, they stated, "the patients has been counseled about the side effect of the medication they are taking." This is not a true statement. When I made this statement to the office manager, she then went back to talk with the doctor I was seeing. When she came back, she stated, "the doctor said they did in fact counseled me on each visit. Again, this is not a true statement. This office did not hand out after visit reports. Always a long wait (one time 2 hrs) just to be called, then another hour to be seen. Only be seen by a disengaged doctor who was short with my husband. I have since moved out of the town and establishing a new doctor in my new city. Ofcourse the new doctor wants my records, so I signed the release for my new doctor to get my records. Later that afternoon I received a call a representative of Farr Medical who advised me that I would be charged for the doctor's request. I have never heard of such a thing!?. I called this doctors office as new parting to schedule an appointment. Receptionist told me that she can't schedule me because I am having on going cough. Why would I go see a doctor if I am completely healthy with no issue. I inform the receptionist that I have negative covid report and she said they can't schedule me until I recover from my cough. Good Doctors are hard to find. Good Doctors with an excellent support staff is damn near impossible. That's why I'm lucky to have found such excellent care at Farr. Truth be told, I've never even seen Dr. Farr. I've always met with the PA, Jillian. She's an absolute doll - sweet and kind, her bedside manner is something others in the medical field should emulate. She's also incredibly smart (Stanford Grad!) and understands the medical field more than some doctors! Best part of Farr Medical Group - the minimal wait. Seriously - the longest I've ever waited was 20 minutes. Yet, whenever I'm with the PA I never feel rushed. I don't know how they manage to do this, but I love it! I do have to knock down one star due to the billing staff. I have had problems with a bill from back in April of 2012. A whole $60! They continued to bill the wrong insurance. Even after I sent them copies of the new cards. Ugh!! This went back and forth for a year. Thinking the issue had resolved itself, the bill would suddenly appear in the mail several months later. When I called to tell them they're billing the wrong insurance they'd swear up and down they billed it correct. Umm... Yeah, obviously you didn't. If you can put up with the occasional incompetency of the billing department you'll love this place. read more

I am used to Socialized Health Care. When we moved here, finding a DR was very important to us, of course. I did not know where to look and was not used to "Networks or Co-pays". Someone referred Dr Farr's Group to us. The call was placed and we were in! I have to be honest, I have never met DR Farr, just his PA's. Something else I have never dealt with before. If this makes the process smoother, I am all for it. I have never waited longer than 15 minutes in the waiting room. Never had an issue with bad billing. The staff at the front desk are fine as are the assistants to the PA's. Going to the DR is never fun but going here is never cringe worthy. The only issue at times is that if a script is necessary, the communication between the DR's office and the pharmacy can be skewed and may take awhile if it is called or faxed in by the office. I have never been able to manage a medical file on line before and I am not sure if that is a normal thing here in the US but it is a neat feature to this medical group. Always parking here too in a nice, clean, newer lot. read more

The billing department here is comically inept. After billing the wrong insurance they went straight to collections with no contact. We gave them our credit card and they didn't process the payment. Sent to collections again. Potentially damaging our excellent credit. All this for one lab appointment which they didn't even do anything anyway. I love my Dr! The whole staff is nice and patient, fantastic bedside manor. I am spoken to like an actual person, not like patient number 459807. Sometimes when I need an appointment because I'm sick TODAY and want to feel better TODAY, I end up having to wait until tomorrow and that sucks, but things get booked and I understand that. I also understand that dealing with sick, whiny people should not be anything new when you are a doctor's office, so surely something can be done. That said, I go to one of the best doctors in Bakersfield. Although... I always seem to be the only person until 82 that's ever sitting in the waiting room. read more
