Halloween horror nights at universal was a complete and utter blast!! Be prepared for long lines... some times over 2 hours... wear your most comfortable shoes. We were there from open 6:30pm to close 2am and we hobbled out at the end of the night. If you can afford the lightning pass that is the way to go!!! Ride options are limited but a good break in between and what they have open is good. Food and drink options are many. My sons and I had a very memorable time! So, honestly not much has really changed for us with this part of the park since the last time we came here. Outside of what was Shrek 3D is Villain Con. Staff we interacted with still did amazing but I do feel like it's time for a few changes. Villains con while a cute experience and fitting to changing that area to minions, took away a nice relief from the heat that was Shrek theater. (And before that Alfred Hitchcock Experience!) The horror make up show was being redone during our trip. A few stores in the Harry potter store felt ... Smaller than I remember, though in that area our intent was mainly looking around. We were able to do everything we wanted to quickly and easily. During a non busy time we did everything my kid wanted to do in about a half a day. Saving a few things for when we did HHN as we knew we needed a few time killers while we waited for the staged openings of the haunts. We skipped the little kids area and Jimmy Fallon, due to lack of interest and not being geared to our age group. I'll be interested to see what they do to bring new life to this park when the Simpsons contract runs out, especially since they are closing the Animal actor experience. So that's a sizeable amount for something new! For HHN, it ran well for us. I liked that they had two houses open at 2, and then we hit some haunts as they opened at 515 or 545. Thought I will say our feet ended up killing us from having to bounce back and forth. Since where they had two haunts that felt like a long walk off to the side where one opened at 2 but the other didn't open for a little more than 3 hours after it, so made for some unexpected back tracking. read more

All I can say is: yikes! From the underwhelming parks (except for Epic) Universal is expensive for no reason (not to mention outdated and lack luster). The customer service phone number is a pain to navigate and the staff is unhelpful. They are either unwilling or unable to connect directly to restaurants, certain departments (like guest services), etc. They even told me a restaurant was closed despite the restaurant showing as open online. The customer service rep was also unwilling to put someone else on the phone or provide next steps. The inconvenience of Universal (including having to pay to visit City Walk) underlines its intent was to make money rather than create lasting family memories. I'm so happy we've gotten to experience Universal. It was a different pace than Disney, in a good way, now that my kids are older teen and adult ages. We had a beautiful day to visit and smiled throughout the day. Some of our best moments were walking through the various city streets and seeing musical performances and dancing. The walkways were wide and we were never on top of other guests. Most rides had reasonable wait times and/or offered single rider options. The locker areas for cramped, but I appreciated how many of the wait queues were indoors, keeping us cooler and away from the rain. The Harry Potter sections were amazing, just amazing. I couldn't have imagined how it would have felt being in the middle of the space. Restaurants, both sit down and quick service, were scattered throughout the park. I loved that we didn't have to worry plan in advance to get a spot at either. My only downside to Universal Studios is that some of the themes felt outdated or just aren't favorite characters of mine. At least this helped to decrease the temptation of spending money on apparel or merchandise. read more

I had a blast as usual!! I can't really say too much and I didn't take enough pictures because I was having way too much fun but it's Universal Studios for crying out loud! I did everything except for volcano Bay and Epic. (waiting for the Epic hype to die down) The joint is always clean. The snacks and food are always great. Just expect to spend some money while you are there because you are at a theme park! Friday was a great day to go, we went in as soon as it opened , I don't feel like it was that crowded, but lines were long and the only thing that you can do to ensure you ride on all the rides that you want to...is to purchase a FAST PASS! ($100) Getting a fast pass is the best way to go to get your full experience. My average wait time for every ride was 15 minutes or less, which means you can ride the ride again multiple times if you would like Vs. 45min+ wait time. One of my favorite rides to go on is the Jurassic Park River ride, which was closed for maintenance, but that did not ruin anything for the day. All-in-all universal is always a great place to visit. Please do not let me give too much away for first time visitors in order to savor the total experience. I hope everybody has as much fun as we did! Five Stars! read more

Everything was constantly breaking down. The Kong ride broke down while we were in line, and then we got on the ride and it broke down in the middle of the ride. We had waited an hour and 15 minutes for a ride that said it was a 10 minute wait Maintenance is not something they do well. And then I had to go all the way around the park because I'm disabled and the elevator was out of order at Hogwarts. Come on people, we pay a lot of money for our vacation and you give us crap. For some reason, I thought that a holiday this park would be packed; it's a little bit busy in the front of the park and buy the minion section however, towards the back, it is very calm and nice. I'm so glad I decided to spend a couple hours in studios before I go meet my friend for dinner. I am drinking a nectarine spritz from the bar next to the NBC building. This drink I believe was $17 plus tax rounding out to be $20.24. All the wait times for the rides are rather low and I think I will be making my way over to the Dagon alley area to go ride GRINGOTTS only at a 35 minute wait!!! If you haven't mentioned Universal Studios, Florida, I highly recommend it. Visited this park on a Sunday, and found it to be far less crowded than Island of Adventures but definitely more dated. The Park opens at 10am on Sundays and we arrived at 11. Upon arrival we encountered nearly no wait times at the ET and MIB rides, so knocked those out first. Those were just OK in my opinion. The highlights of our day here included: - Exploring Diagon and Knockturn Alley. Absolutely incredible, magical, and true to my imagination. Highly recommend for any Harry Potter fan. The Escape from Gringotts ride was a thrilling experience and a lot of fun. - Revenge of The Mummy - this is easily the best ride in the park. We loved it so much that we did it twice! - The Bourne Stuntacular Show - amazing performance, mixing live stunts/actions with animation. A must see! read more

Though I'm a routine Disneyland fanatic, I throughly enjoyed the Universal Orlando Resort and long to return. My parents and I visited December 2024 to celebrate my mom's successful battle of breast cancer and my tumor being benign. Life can be fleeting and you never know what to expect, so let's be off to a theme park! Since a kid I've been theme park obsessed, and I was excited to try the other coast's Universal Park. I'll never look at Hollywood the same as Universal Orlando is hands down the superior park! I definitely think if you have the means to do Orlando versus Hollywood, I'd choose this park! Less congested with people, more rides, better dining, and there are water taxis! My favorite mode of transportation. Some of the attractions are the same from coast-to-coast, but some vary. For example, the Mummy Ride varies between Orlando and Hollywood. I found myself more fond of the one in Orlando as it was more intense. It will be interesting when I finally get to see Epic Universe as I believe it will squash any desire for me to travel to Universal Hollywood. Definitely worth a visit at least once in your life if you enjoy theme parks. read more

Walking into Diagon Alley felt like stepping straight into the films--the attention to detail is absolutely mind-blowing. Beyond Harry Potter, the park does an incredible job of making you feel like you are part of the movies. Rides like Revenge of the Mummy and Transformers offer great thrills and amazing special effects. It's an unforgettable experience for movie fans of all ages. An incredible day packed with thrills and entertainment! We had an absolute blast visiting. The park has a fantastic mix of high-energy simulator rides, classic attractions, and incredible street performances. The layout is very easy to navigate, and the transition between different themed areas keeps things exciting the whole day. Plenty of great food options and gift shops, too. In town for a work event and was treated to a day at Universal Studios. Lines were organized and the staff were professional and patient. There were not as many people as we expected and the majority of the wait time me were around 40 minutes. I'm not a huge rider but was able to enjoy Hulk and Spiderman. If you're looking for a thrill, Hulk will do the job for sure. The food and drinks were good. Definitely come prepared to spend some money if you plan on eating and having some adult beverages. We were able to get a shuttle/bus from the hotel so didn't have to worry about parking luckily. read more

It'd been a long time since I'd been to Universal Studios, so I was excited to see what all had changed... and while I was happy to see a lot had changed, I was also shocked to see a lot of things were the same: Men In Black ride, Simpson's Krusty Land are the 2 things that come to mind. Those were there and popular when my family brought be as a 10ish year old.. now as a 32 year old to still see them as kind of "sure I guess we'll go ride these too" is kind of sad. Thought those would've been gone by now. Didn't go to Krusty Land but MIB still isnt a terrible time by any means. It just doesn't get much love these days. Easily the best part of the park for us was Diagon Alley. We loved walking around, going in the shops and doing the magic spells with our wands. (a part two from our time at Epic Universe the day before) Our biggest complain, which we expected in some ways, is the waiting and the amount of delays we experience while in lines. We expected 30-60 mins waits for rides... maybe even 90 for the most really popular ones... but I'd never experienced 120 (2 hour+) lines before going to Universal a few weeks ago (early March). While waiting for the Minitry of Magic ride, we waiting over 2 hours, and they told us that there was a stoppage/delay in the ride 7 times... it was terrible. But I knew my wife really wanted to ride it so we stuck it out. These rides all rely so heavily on robots, crazy effects, etc. these days that one small issue seemingly shuts everything down. Regardless of the waits, and the endless lines that feel never ending because every next room feels like you're close to the actually ride... until you get to it and there's a new line maze to get through....we had fun and will probably go back and do Universal studios first so we have more patience for all the waiting as opposed to going the day after Epic and not really waiting too long, but still being tired from a day of walking. read more

One of the trio of theme parks plus the water park, it's located right beside Islands of Adventure (and if you have a park hopper ticket, you can go between the two on the Hogwarts Express). Harry Potter Diagon Alley, Simpsons, Dreamworks, Minions, and location specific (Hollywood, San Fran, New York) areas all combine for a large park experience with rides, shows and games. Plus plenty of merch to buy. Great immersion, but catch yourself in a line or in the way for the parade - you're going to be stuck for a bit. I've seen better crowd spacing/control at the Disney parks. They could learn a bit from that. Lots of 4D/3D shows and rides. There's something for everyone although lots of the rides are jerky, so anyone with a bad back/neck or gets nausea should avoid getting on most rides. While not bad, I like IoA and Epic better than this park. Catch the little Back to the Future display (train & car) but not much around that near the Simpsons. Kwik-E-mart and other stops like Moe's tavern for food & drink. Lots of beer. A giant Lard Lad strawberry frosted donut, too, in the Simpsons area :) The Minion games looked fun but missed out (lines in the way). Holiday time was super crowded. Express pass is helpful here - most of the rides have an equivalent and it gets you through the lines faster so you can spend less time waiting and more time riding. I think it'd be more fun when less people - try not to come on a holiday like I did because that made it too crowded and too many people to enjoy fully. read more

Theme Park I had been waiting for the kids to get old enough where it would make sense to hit these larger and more sophisticated theme parks and man, it was worth the wait! We took advantage of a package deal that was offered online and headed to Orlando. We booked accommodations at one of the newer hotels that are part of Universal (Terra Luna) and that was also a great experience. We got to the park the same day we arrived and after a few minutes getting the tickets scanned and validated, we were on our way. We opted for Universal park first and entered pretty much into minion land. From that point onward, the day was a blur of walking, riding the attractions and just marveling at the details that go into a place like this. Of all the attractions in this park, the one that the kids kept wanting to go back to was the entire Harry Potter area - they really do a spectacular job with the attractions and when the giant dragon on top of Gringotts decides to blow fire, you feel the heat wave pass you by. The park is pretty much set up in a large circle and we did a few laps that day we were here. There are plenty of food beverage options available in the park- and as you might expect, those are not going to be exactly cheap. We ate at Krusty burger over in Simpsons land and to be fair, while expensive, the food was actually better than expected for this type of venue. Definitely something for everyone at this park and sure to engage pretty much most of the age groups. I enjoyed the attractions as much as the kids did to be honest. Be prepared to walk - bring those extra comfy shoes and don't forget the sunscreen and sunglasses. A wonderful time and we are already planning another visit. read more

This place was fun and entertaining. We visited this, Islands of Adventure, and Epic. ******* This place isn't set up to accommodate those who are limited walking. They have scooters and other equipment but it's inside the gate. So you have to walk from the cab/App stops or bus depot. ****** I absolutely hate the skip the line option. So the Escape from the Ministry said 75 minutes when we got in line. It actually took 90+ minutes and people were constantly leaving line to use the bathroom. I estimate we probably could gotten through the line in 45 minutes if not for the skip the line and single rider options ****** The cost is around $500 per person for the express pass or you can get them free if you stay at a Universal owned hotels which are 30-75% more per night than the regular brand hotels. ***** @Universal, how about raising all tickets $10-15 and dump the express pass? read more

Any time family comes to visit we make a stop here. It is always a pleasure to have an annual pass. I joined my family after work and still got to enjoy man and black and the ET ride. I have been multiple times and never even rode ET. It was such an incredible experience. Also, something new to me was turkey leg purchases had to be in a combo with chips. This was our first trip to Universal Studio. A fun parks with lots of fun themes like minions, Transformers, Harry Potter, Simpsons, SpongeBob, Trolls, and so much more. Before the park, there's also a shopping and dining area open to everyone and can be entered without a ticket. We started the day by parking in standard lot. I bought it only that has $3 discount. It was very organized. Going through security and ticket checking was efficient process. Though we registered with our selfie in the app, still the staff took our pictures again at the gate, delaying the process. Inside the park, I had the most fun at transformers, including the 3D ride. We had a chance to meet Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. The Harry Potter village was also super cool, with people try to cast spells with their wands in the window shops. The Trolls area was nice too with open children's playground. In the park we also got to meet Patrick the star, Gabby from Gabby's Dollhouse, Viktor from Despicable Me, and Hashtag from Jimmy Fallon show. There plenty of small shops for snacks and drinks throughout the park, alongside some dine-in restaurants. I was looking forward buying a lot of stuff, but most of the merchandise stores had disappointing collections. We bought few small magnets, pins and some currency from Harry Porter. There were issues and delays with multiple rides. We couldn't go to the Jimmy Fallon one. Other popular rides had long lines, wait time of 40+ minutes. I looked into Express Pass, but those were $180 per person, on top of regular ticket. Most of the staff throughout the park were friendly. Compared to my experience in Disney parks, this one fell much short of expectations, both experience, price and quality wise. read more

I've only been here two times (and oddly only two times to the Cali location as well)--once when my daughter was little and once during a work trip. I enjoyed walking around, people watching, eating junk food, taking in rides, etc. with work friends. As you can imagine, it gets pretty crowded especially in the summer months. Somehow on a March weekday my sister and I got to get on most major rides at Islands of Adventure and then took the train over to Universal Studios Florida and got on just about every major ride here, too, except for the Fast and Furious dark ride and I think I picked well by skipping that as it doesn't seem to be too popular. (I haven't seen a single one of those movies either!) I'm much more a fan of roller coasters than motion simulators so I like Islands of Adventure a good deal more than USF. I also like the theming more, apart from the Springfield area and Diagon Alley. The whole studio backlot/cityscape isn't as interesting to me. It's still a pleasant looking park though. The layout seems more confusing than IOA which is really straightforward and simple. Maybe part of it is this was my maiden voyage to USF while I'd been to IOA once before but there's just more nooks and crannies here. I've done reviews for most of the major rides and Diagon Alley. Simpsons and Transformers are elite, E.T. is a wonderful blast of nostalgia and weirdness we must protect at all costs, Escape from Gringotts is way overrated even if the queue theming and preshow is superb, I got no love for Jimmy Fallon or his stupid ride, the indoor Mummy coaster is surprisingly good still leaves this park's coaster lineup lagging way behind its neighbors, Men in Black is okay but not worth waiting in a long line for and the Minions shooter game was a quick diversion I never even bothered to do a review for. I'm just seeing we missed another Minions ride, a motion simulator. It was such a whirlwind of queues with almost no wait I guess it was easy to miss one. The Blues Brothers musical revue was an absolute blast with an awesome setting. And the Mardi Gras parade wrapped itself around the city streets around the diner where my sister and I ate dinner with us looking out the window and had parade to spare both before and after our meal! It went on for over half an hour. Universal didn't chintz out on that at all. Cast members, floats and flying beads aplenty. There were more shows, too, with stuff like behind the scenes on how Hollywood does makeup, stuff like that. We skipped these but stuff like this is why I wish I'd gotten my parents to this park before they passed. They'd have loved stuff like that, the Blues Brothers and the Hogwarts express. They seemed to like Islands of Adventure okay but I think they'd have liked this park considerably more. The theming, too, I think they'd have enjoyed more. This park closed a couple hours early on the weekday we visited, booked by some high rollers for a private event so we ended our day where we started at Islands of Adventure. And though I like that park more, with a Fast and Furious coaster on the way to USF I think I'd be more eager to return here and ride that and spend more time exploring and soaking in the vibes at this park. read more

You are literally riding the movies. Minions, transformers, animal actors, the Simpsons, ET, men in black, gringotts bank, and the mummy were an exhilarating experience. We loved it so much! The food is also really worth it and very creative. Lots of air conditioning. The parade and night show was wonderful, very magical. For more context we also had express passes which made the whole process so smooth and fast. The staff were very friendly and helpful...adding to the overall great experience...tomorrow we plan to check out Islands of Adventure...and I'm hoping the weather holds up so we can enjoy it just as much. With the soaring prices and controversy at Disney, Universal is the place to go. The park layout, rides, food options, and events are all amazing. Until yesterday I was an annual premier passholder and loved the benefits that were included, free Prime Parking, express pass everyday after 4 p.m., discounts on food, and no blockout dates. Of course there are different tiers, but the highest (premier) 2 park pass is a steal at $790/year. Their Christmas parade was wonderful and they have a beautiful light show at Hogwarts Castle for the Holiday. But my favorite park perk is their Mardi Gras concert series that is free with entry. I didn't get to take advantage of it as much as I like this year, but I did see Illenium perform, and his show was incredible. They had other headliners like Joe Jonas and TLC. They really go all out at this time with themed food and drink as well as a fun parade. I'll be sure to get a new annual pass when it's time for Mardi Gras and I have more time to go in the future. After exploring Universal Islands of Adventure we took the Howard's Express to Universal. Being a huge Harry Potter fan, I headed straight for Diagon Alley and the Harry Potter themed rides. I love the way they stick to the themes in every land but especially here. The costumes, merchandise in shops and the whole ambiance is perfect for me. We also explored some of the good old standby's like ET, Men in Black, and escape from skull island. There are a few newer (to me) rides like The Simpsons and the walk through exhibit of costumes from the Wicked movies. There is something to eat everywhere you look and I was happy to see a lot of fruit and some healthier snacks available. All the parks were pushing sales of battery powered bubble blowers for kids so everywhere we walked we were inundated with bubbles. Not a bad thing! Because we stayed on property, transportation was very easy by boat. The parking areas are huge (and pricey) but they do have a dedicated ride share area and lots of bus drop off areas. I do recommend getting the express passes and that would allow you to do everything in one day. Fun place to spend time! read more

I am about two weeks late with my review since I am no longer on vacation mode and back to the grind (*tears*) But I really enjoyed Universal Studios Florida! It was the park nearest to the Hard Rock Hotel, and so the entrance was right there. It's a much older park - the OG of course. However, we arrived on the Hogwarts train from Islands of Adventure - but for some reason the elevator did not fit many people on it? We had a stroller, but there were others in line with wheelchairs. I do hope they add more elevators or a ramp! This would be MUCH MORE accommodating. You can tell that this park has more... age to it and there was parts of it shut down for improvements and updates. The rain came down hard on us, but there was plenty of spots to run and hide! The new Dreamworks area was very cool. If you are a fan of Shrek (me), Trolls, or Kung Fu Panda AND have little ones., you will enjoy it! The park was fun, but I do hope they update it more. read more

This was by far my favorite theme park I visited when I came to Florida. Every part of it just seems more organized and better than any other theme park. Parking area easier to navigate. Security had an actual check unlike random people pulled off line. Ticket entry was organized and quick. It seemed more sis ious and less chaotic than the competitors. It was the first park I didn't feel stressed in. I would definitely recommend buying tickets in advance. For this park, you may want to invest in the Express Pass. I'm usually against it, but there are so many rides to go on. You may miss a few if you don't have the pass. They also have a line for single riders for some of the rides. If you are willing to take the chance or break from your group, these lines are even faster than the express pass. Lots of food and restaurant options. There is a refillable tumbler you can buy and refill all day. You can get three for $30. Sounded expensive at first, but if you fill up all day consistently, you definitely get your moneys worth. Refill stations are scattered throughout the park. There's also a sensor in the tumbler which won't allow you to fill up within a certain amount of time. I went New Year's Eve and it was still decorated for Christmas. It was nice to experience. The rides are a lot of fun. I'm not into roller coasters, but they have lots of great motion rides and interactive rides. There are areas where characters are set up to meet the kids. They are also randomly roaming the park. I would also suggest downloading the app. It has a map and ride wait times which seemed accurate. Everything is set up In areas to make it easier. Some of my favorite rides were Spider-Man, Transformers, The Mummy, and Jimmy Fallon Race Through New York. There is a whole area dedicated to Harry Potter. I'm not a fan, but they do a great job with it. Very detailed according to the Harry Potter fans I was with. Definitely go to Universal and make sure you go early to see as much as time allows. read more

We did a park-to-park ticket between Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure and headed into Universal late morning. Diagon Alley was awesome--definitely a highlight of the day. We did the wand experience and bought wands for the kids. There are 1st and 2nd generation wands with about a $20 difference. Two of my kids got the newer version and one got the older, but honestly, we didn't notice much of a difference when using them. The Hogwarts Express train ride was really neat and a nice break from walking and crowds. Universal has a lot of simulation rides, which were fun overall. We had lunch at Mel's Diner--it was fine, but like most theme park food, pretty expensive. The Transformers ride was super bumpy and not one we'd do again. We really liked The Mummy, and my kids enjoyed The Simpsons ride. We had unlimited Express Passes through our resort, and I would absolutely recommend that--it made a huge difference in our day. read more

This is an orlando staple with a ton of great things to do and see. The rides are so fun and varied- my favorite is the mummy, but I also think the minions mayhem and men in black are such fun ones with different vibes. Some of the things around the park could be modernized a bit- like some of the bathrooms, and water stations (with cold water pls) would be great. Make sure you use the app to check wait times and maximize your time. read more

Extremely crowded and wait for the rides is about an hour, unless you pay for express pass. We paid $900 for a two day pass without express passes for an adult and one child 12 years old. A very fun amusement park. This is the original park, but very different from when it first opened. The best part was Harry Potter, but the Simpsons are a close runner up. We were able to see the park in a day. So many details in each themed part. It is very fun and entertaining. There are some shows and parades as well. I really like that when you walk in or out of the park you are on their Citywalk. Lots of restaurants and shopping. I can't wait to go back. read more
