Minus the Harry Potter section, this is my absolute favorite ride, overall at Universal. Located at Island of Adventure, this thrill has been around some time and could use a touch up bought the excitement of the ride stands the test of time. It's a water ride so expect to get wet. The further back seated in the raft, the less but if you enjoy the front line me, wear a poncho. You will see some similar scenes from the movies so buckle up and hold on tight.

This was the most fun of the rides I took at Universal Studios, other than the getting my shorts soaked. I was in a middle row on the boat so I didn't get the worst of it directly but the water that was on the seat flowed to where I was sitting. Yuck. The rafts follow a pretty smooth path with a couple of monsters that pop up and spray water. And then, the raft goes "off course" into the raptor containment area. A few more "scary" monster pop up spitting "venom" which is actually just water. A climb up a ramp before it drops the raft like a flume. And then you get to the unloading dock. Five or so minutes of ride. Pretty easy. Tip: Bring a towel for this one. Or you can pay $7 ($7!) for a few minutes in one of the drying machines. Hey, it's a good time. What's not to like about the marriage of animatronic vinyl dinosaurs, squirting water, and an 85 foot gravity drop with a shoe-ruining splashdown? Much like the Jurassic Park movies, that got better technologically as the series progressed, this ride was definitely made a while ago. Ostensibly, many years before the Universal Hollywood upgrade featuring top billed film stars in their line queue videos, and much better sound. But it's still enjoyable ride, and with a fast pass, most of the time it's a "walk right on." The story concept is pretty straightforward: an educational tour gets bumped off course and into danger, augmented by escape velociraptors and an inexplicable uphill climb through some kind of control building for the park? I don't know. But it's entertaining, and if you went in the summer like we did, you are already soaked from the last thunderstorm that hit before you could get your cheap plastic Amazon parka on over your clothes. Like all good rides, it ends in the gift shop, and unlike the ride itself, the concessions are up-to-date with all of the movies. Definitely worth your time, whether for a laugh, or a cheap family gamble of who's going to get the big crotch splash at the bottom of the hill.

My dream car lol

This is my most favorite ride of all time. I went when the part first opened and have been going back for years. It's no secret I love dinosaurs. The velociraptor is my favorite. I get they have to update things, but I was sad to see Jurassic world take over Jurassic park.

Universal's Island of Adventure (Florida) JURASSIC PARK pavilion Missed getting on Jurassic Park - The Ride at Universal Studios Hollywood in California during its stint and now after running for 22 years, just like the dinosaurs, it's now extinct! All is not lost for me... I got a chance to ride it here at Universal Studios Florida and I totally love it! We boarded a tour boat that took us to a scenic aquatic tour through the grounds of Jurassic Park. Lots of oohs and ahhhs during our little journey in the beginning... but you know how it goes, our pleasure journey shortly took a turn to chaos as our tour boat mistakenly made a wrong turn and we needed to escape the jaws of the mighty T-Rex... so down we go!! Yes, we got splashed towards the plunge of an 85 foot drop near the end of the ride! It wasn't a surprise to me... I watched this part at the ride in Hollywood when my kids rode it. I don't know if sitting anywhere in the ride would've escaped the water but, whether you get splashed a little or a lot, with the heat and humidity in Florida it was refreshing LoL! Oh, also, at exit you can find a people dryer machine. Actually, they have these machines at all the watery rides inside the park. It's the first I've seen! This is a good idea! It isn't free, though, not sure how much it charges. Love this ride... Review #1578

Is a great theme park ride that we definitely visit every time we go to Universal Studios. I've always been a big fan of Jurassic Park going up so of course I have to ride this ride and it's pretty fun thrill ride yard it's not a roller coaster anything like that it's an adventure ride tea Rex bus out and try to eat your face and all that good stuff so it's really fun ride that I enjoy

I love Jurassic Park Adventure and as a person who is not a big fan of water rides, I like to consider this one more of a dry ride and I try to ride this ride every time I visit the park. Located at the backside of Islands of Adventure, this boat ride takes you on a journey inside the world of Jurassic Park and you're exposed to all the dinosaurs displayed in the movies until you make a wrong turn.... and.... If you don't want to get wet, try seating in the back -- you will get minimally wet but don't expect to come out of the ride dry. You will still be a little watered down. But don't think of it as a ride you will get soaked in. The ride itself is great that you won't mind a little wetness on your body. Plus -- it's a great ride to just relax in.

final Drop is dope. Marvelous we have visited this in off season so it was only 10 minutes wait for us. Lucky us :) as people have waited even 2-3 hours for this ride in peak season Each boat holds plenty of people. when it starts, the Jurrasic Park theme music, and when the gate opens, you get goosebumps. The beginning is a little boring, where dinosaurs are emerging from water or bushes, but the atmosphere is great and kids seemed to love it. you will feel the fire heat. You get squirt by water no matter where you sit. Then after you go off the path into the raptor containment area where you can hear a panicked voice telling you to turn around. The tiny dinosaurs are eating an employee's shirt as you go underneath a shaking cage that emits enraged velociraptor sounds. The last corner takes you straight into the path of a T-rex that looms out of the fog. The ride eventually raises you up to the top of the control tower and from there to escape the Tyrannosaurus Rex you are dropped from a height with a splash. the climb is in totally dark so you don't know how big the drop would be. that was fun. The finale is fantastic and what really makes this water ride special. I have read many reviews where people are saying you 'll get wet/soaked completely. See if you are front, chances are you 'll get wet, but not completely and no, you won't be soaked in water. I was at 3rd row and there was just a splash of water. I have carried our ponchos with me but if you don't carry, its still fine. There is a great observation area outside the ride at the water drop and i have taken few beautiful shots of it

Jurassic Park River Adventure is a water ride located in Islands of Adventure. Overall it's a great experience. You ride through some great scenery that takes you into the storyline of the movie. Lots of destruction caused by all of the animals that escaped and the stress of being hunted by a hungry viscous raptor. At the end of the ride a T-Rex appears snarling with a wide open mouth. Your boat is forced to ride through the mouth that turns out to be the start of a pitch-black 85ft drop. No matter how many times that I have been on this ride the drop still gives me anxiety.

So much of my review from 6 years ago still stands but let me make some slight edits... I know this is strange but for me Jurassic Park is THE SCARIEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME! It really scares the bajeebus out of me. When the guy is on the toilet! AH! The velociraptors...are you kidding me!? Oh the raptors were in many of my nightmares. They open doors!!! Good Gracious, I think I'm going to have a nightmare tonight reliving this all in my mind right now. Anyways, for me, this ride captured everything I experienced watching the movie. It's a bit corny but still...scared the heck out of me just because it reminded me of all the horror in the movie! Just hearing the Jurassic Park score playing starts freaking me out. The ride just like the movie starts off with Jurassic Park being a lovely place for nice, lovely little dinosaurs just living harmoniously with each other and nature. THEN! The Hadrosaur steers you off course and sirens start sounding! Ohhhhh great!!!! I'm not going to spoil the rest for you but trust me, it's the stuff my nightmares are made of. And it ends with you getting completely drenched! Splash Mountain ain't got nothing on this as far as wetness goes. I will ride this every time I'm at Islands of Adventure and every time I will scare myself to death. You can usually get on this ride with very minimal wait because it's a water ride and because it's honestly a bit outdated. The River Adventure could use some freshening up but my friends and I still loved it to pieces! Be sure to use the free lockers to put away anything you don't want getting wet.

I have always been a fan of the Jurassic Park movies, so when Joe K and I encountered this ride during our stroll though Universal's Islands of Adventure, well, we just HAD to experience it! But before proceeding into unknown territory, we decided to watch what happens to the raft riders during the ending of their visit from the mysterious park. The rafts would emerge from the park as a gate opens to let them careen down the rapids and of course splash water onto nearby observers! It didn't appear to me that the riders themselves suffered too much from getting wet. But boy was I wrong!!! As we joined others getting onto an inflatable raft, the Jurassic Park gateway opens and our tour begins as a relaxing river ride with some lovely jungle views, waterfalls and harmless wildlife. It doesn't take long though before aggressive dinosaurs start showing themselves in menacing ways. We barely escape with our lives multiple times! Soon, we must enter a dark cave where scientists have been housing specimens of the prehistoric variety, except some of these creatures have escaped and bent on revenge! More heart pounding encounters ensue as our raft races away from the hungry velociraptors only to come face to face with a huge T-Rex! That's when we escape once again by heading straight through the legs of this monster and out the gates falling a few stories downward to either your death or safety! The ride will make that decision for you! LOL! We all ended up drenched, but grateful to have survived!

Hi, Planning to go to universal studios next week. can I carry my DSLR on the ride ( Jurrasic Park)? I have read reviews and found u can get little wet. so I am not sure... would my shoe ll also be soaked in water? accordingly, I will carry flipflop

Not a little wet. It’s a flume ride which culminates in a pretty big splash. If your dslr is weatherproofed you can probably get away with it if you stay in the middle of the row but it’s still a risk. I’d personally lock my dslr up and use a… Read more

I also liked that there's no entry fee for non-riders and you can purchase rides à la carte. I ended up paying $12 for a go-kart ride and LOVED it We got there around 12 PM and it wasn't crowded at all. The lines were super short, so the students were able to ride things 3-4 times with no problem, which made it even more worth it. One of the best deals was the all day dining pass (you have to buy it online). For $24, you get 2 meals and a snack, which is a steal compared to the regular menu prices. Our first stop was Cluckees where we had tenders, wings, and fries. The portions were HUGE and everything was tasty, especially the fries. None of us could even finish our food! For our snack, we grabbed ice cream. The kids loved it, but it wasn't my favorite. Later, we went back to Cluckees for a chicken sandwich and fries for dinner. This time it wasn't as good as earlier. Maybe a different cook or just an off moment. We didn't spend time in the arcade and stayed mostly outside. The park is a pretty decent size with plenty to do. Even as the day went on and traffic picked up, it never felt overly packed. The staff was friendly and very laid back, which added to the relaxed vibe of the day. Overall, it was a good experience. The kids really enjoyed it. I'd give it a 3.5. Btw I think there is a bee problem there. I saw bees flying around often. Not enough to ruin the experience, but I definitely noticed them.

We had a beautiful day to visit and smiled throughout the day. Some of our best moments were walking through the various city streets and seeing musical performances and dancing. The walkways were wide and we were never on top of other guests. Most rides had reasonable wait times and/or offered single rider options. The locker areas for cramped, but I appreciated how many of the wait queues were indoors, keeping us cooler and away from the rain. The Harry Potter sections were amazing, just amazing. I couldn't have imagined how it would have felt being in the middle of the space. Restaurants, both sit down and quick service, were scattered throughout the park. I loved that we didn't have to worry plan in advance to get a spot at either. My only downside to Universal Studios is that some of the themes felt outdated or just aren't favorite characters of mine. At least this helped to decrease the temptation of spending money on apparel or merchandise.

(I haven't seen a single one of those movies either!) I'm much more a fan of roller coasters than motion simulators so I like Islands of Adventure a good deal more than USF. I also like the theming more, apart from the Springfield area and Diagon Alley. The whole studio backlot/cityscape isn't as interesting to me. It's still a pleasant looking park though. The layout seems more confusing than IOA which is really straightforward and simple. Maybe part of it is this was my maiden voyage to USF while I'd been to IOA once before but there's just more nooks and crannies here. I've done reviews for most of the major rides and Diagon Alley. Simpsons and Transformers are elite, E.T. is a wonderful blast of nostalgia and weirdness we must protect at all costs, Escape from Gringotts is way overrated even if the queue theming and preshow is superb, I got no love for Jimmy Fallon or his stupid ride, the indoor Mummy coaster is surprisingly good still leaves this park's coaster lineup lagging way behind its neighbors, Men in Black is okay but not worth waiting in a long line for and the Minions shooter game was a quick diversion I never even bothered to do a review for. I'm just seeing we missed another Minions ride, a motion simulator. It was such a whirlwind of queues with almost no wait I guess it was easy to miss one. The Blues Brothers musical revue was an absolute blast with an awesome setting. And the Mardi Gras parade wrapped itself around the city streets around the diner where my sister and I ate dinner with us looking out the window and had parade to spare both before and after our meal! It went on for over half an hour. Universal didn't chintz out on that at all. Cast members, floats and flying beads aplenty. There were more shows, too, with stuff like behind the scenes on how Hollywood does makeup, stuff like that. We skipped these but stuff like this is why I wish I'd gotten my parents to this park before they passed. They'd have loved stuff like that, the Blues Brothers and the Hogwarts express. They seemed to like Islands of Adventure okay but I think they'd have liked this park considerably more. The theming, too, I think they'd have enjoyed more. This park closed a couple hours early on the weekday we visited, booked by some high rollers for a private event so we ended our day where we started at Islands of Adventure. And though I like that park more, with a Fast and Furious coaster on the way to USF I think I'd be more eager to return here and ride that and spend more time exploring and soaking in the vibes at this park.

The Knight Bus was fun enough for both my sister and I to get pictures by it with its friendly steward and his appropriate accent. I missed the low key entrance on our first go round. As I said I watched the movies in a cloud of smoke and didn't realize it was this secret fandom entrance/exit but the throngs passing through tipped us off. The greater density with everything packed so tightly together and its separation from the other themed areas of Universal Studios Florida makes this Potter themed area more impressive than its counterpart over at Islands of Adventure- even without a magnificent castle. The alleys, the shops, the hand painted signage, the dragon perched high shooting out that massive flame... I can only imagine how hard this hits if you're a Potter fanatic. And though Escape from Gringotts was pretty weak sauce in my estimation the queue and the theming before the ride experience was top notch. They really broke the bank on this, as with the great train ride in. Maybe if I ever go back I'll watch a Potter movie or two sober.

Colorful, full of life and BUSY! This location is a Nintendo fan's dream, but be aware that…read moreeveryone wants to visit. There are interactive areas, 3 rides, 1 hidden attraction, lots of food and character experiences and tons of photo-ops. Shoutout to the amazing Team Members with the characters, they have some serious crowd control jobs and offer great moments with Mario, Luigi, Peach and Yoshi. I do miss Donkey Kong and TOAD and I hope they return soon.

We definitely felt dropped into a Mario Bros / Super Nintendo game or movie. The space, while…read moresmall, is colorful and contain the elements you'd expect to see - Yoshi, boxes to hit for sounds and points, mushrooms, Bowser, etc. Even the gift shops are fun with their apparel and character accessories. (Did a Yoshi hat come home with us? Yes, yes it did.) This space will not be appreciated by everyone - not because we don't love Mario Bros but because it is small and full of people in every corner. It offers a few attractions and it is a huge commitment to stand in line for a short thrill. We did ride Bowser's ride. It allowed for single riders. It delays regularly though - in our case a cart had to be removed and replaced on the track. It involves a lot of technology the way the game is designed. Our family of 4 did not understand the game at all and how we even gathered points. Thankfully we didn't stand in line as long and wouldn't recommend anyone else does. Sadly the other rides were not part of our day due to the lengthy wait times and in the case of Donkey Kong, so backed up that the single rider line was closed. We witnessed a lot of happy kids running around and tapping question marked boxes. Even for my older teen / adult children they stood in the space and smiled while they took it in. It was the first place they wanted to see upon our arrival.
