Review is for the correct company. I have emails and texts. Was happy as the work progressed. They asked for payment 5 minutes before work was completed. As I roll my power equipment into the garage I hear the truck start and drive away. I talked to Art and he said he would come by to finish. I had to hire another company to finish the work after already paying Universal 2300.00. read more

I called several times in a 6 month period about my roof. Artan, the owner, lied to my face and told me nothing was wrong with the roof. He didn't care because he already had my money. They reused flashing from the old roof. It would have cost a couple of dollars to put up new flashing. read more

This company is great at roofing but bathrooms no Art told me he could do my bathroom first it took him a month to finish it and it still isn't done he had guys in and out my house at all times of the day they took my step stool he had people cutting wood in my bedroom his plumber came to my house and the first words out his mouth was I didn't wanna take this job wtf him and his plumber had issues my wife had to fight with Art to finish the job.... Call BBB before u do business with Art he's a scammer bbb has been looking at his business for months and Wells Fargo's investigating as well read more

These guys are aces. They replaced my roof about 5 years ago. Last year I recommended them to a client who needed a new chimney and a masonry repair on her front stoop. They gave her a very good price, jumped right on the job and did beautiful work. Today a concrete truck hooked my Optimum cable and tore them off my house, pulling out my vinyl siding. Sounded like the whole wall came off, but thankfully not. I called Artie and an hour later he was here. He went up the ladder and was able to get the siding pushed back in place. He wouldn't even take money for coffee. Absolutely GREAT PEOPLE to do business with. read more

They did a horrible job, they did not line up the tiles, my roof does not even look new. They are butchers! They did roof & chimney. The corking on my chimney started peeling off 2 day later. Had roof done in April and I am waiting for them to come back to repair. They said it was a 10 year warrenty?? The flashing is bubbling and starting to come off. They took out my new liner in my chimney and put terracotta brick. They clogged the vent with cement, never checked the inside or told me to get a professional to check. They pipe came off on inside and the fumes were backing up into my basement. Boiler repair man I called said thank god you have oil and not gas or we would not be talking right now! read more

I used him in 2016 for a roof job and siding. I only wanted the front siding done. I was not working at the time so he was paid for that whole job. He said he could not hang the gutters and leders back on so the sides of the house and the back needed to be done with siding. My mother ok'd it. They tore it all down and were halfway done before 3 days later I signed the contract to finance this part. He knew I had no job and said do not worry for payment. I later found out the roof is not completely under warranty unless you pay a couple hundred dollars more for a certificate and the siding on the front is coming off my house but, he refuses to fix it unless he is completely paid. I was also promised gutter guards and another set of shutters which he never gave me and made a couple of original payments of the contract. He wanted to do the garage doors and said he would give it to me once I come up with more money for that he will come back. I was unemployed and used my severance pay for all I had so now he is sueing me for non-payment but, he never finished the job and the siding was not done correctly which that part was paid for. The roof was done great! The siding is not.... I had tried calling him and the office girl fought with me and hung up on me. When I called back she put the tape on. read more

I needed to have my leaders and gutters cleaned......found an advertisement in my local pennysaver, and I figured I would try them out as there was a coupon for a fixed price on the cleaning...I called the telephone number and a gentleman named Artan answered the phone.....he was pleasant, friendly, and made an appointment to come and take care of the cleaning......on the day of the appointment he called to confirm the time and he did come on time.....he and his crew were professional, explained what needed to be done, and completed the leader and gutter cleaning in a most efficient manner......they showed me pictures of the before and after and I have to say that I was impressed with the difference......a job great done......there was no upsellong and the price was what I was quoted which was the price in the add.....I would certainly recommend Artan and Universal Roofing to anyone needing a gutter and leader cleaning or repair.... read more

I am a busy person. I hate writing reviews but when someone does a superior job, I must take the time to give them credit. In this day of half a%% work, it is a welcome relief to see a team that does an excellent job. I am very happy with my new roof. Every aspect was done with precision. The corners matched seamlessly and the flashing is hardly visible. The roof venting and bathroom vents were replaced and look great. They did a wonderful clean up job and the place looked like the place before they came. We just had a 7 inch rain fall the other day and not one drop entered the house. They coordinated the roofing delivery as well as the dumpster drop off and removal. My old gutters were replaced and that was also a great job. The only negative to this great job was the down spouts of the gutters. After the big rain the water in the down spouts wash some of the old nails onto the driveway. No big deal but something to remember if you have your roof replaced. Also, I told my insurance that the roof was replaced and after faxing them Universal's bill, they reduced my insurance by $343 a year. I also had them reface my chimney, it now looks like new. I would definitely recommend them and I plan on using them for some concrete work in the future. To their credit, they showed up the very next day and they were on time. Two technicians arrived and immediately got to work. One was on the roof while the other worked in the basement, and it was clear they knew exactly what they were doing. They also explained that this is a family owned business, with multiple family members working together on the same jobs, which really showed in how coordinated and invested they were in the work. The scope of work involved installing a stainless steel chimney liner designed to properly vent double gas appliances, upgrading existing connections for safety and code compliance, installing two double tee connections, and finishing everything with a stainless steel top plate and rain cap. They also handled flashing and waterproofing by installing aluminum flashing with ice shield underlayment, carefully removing shingles as needed, and waterproofing the exterior of the chimney to prevent future moisture issues. What stood out most was their professionalism and communication. They explained each step clearly, answered questions without rushing, and made sure I understood why certain upgrades were necessary. The workmanship looks excellent and very clean, especially considering the complexity of the job. Despite the rocky start, they ultimately delivered quality work and followed through when it mattered. The finished product looks great and gives me confidence that the system is safe and properly done.

The technician was incredibly knowledgeable, and even though he came on a Saturday at 3:30 PM he told me he could have the job done Sunday morning at 9 AM. Just as he said, they arrived Sunday morning and put the liner in. He told me the smell would go away, which I was very dubious about. However, he was correct. My home does not smell like creosote anymore. I saw this company had a lot of negative reviews and I just want you to know that they did right by me. Not everybody has a bad experience. I was given a fair price for something that was absolutely necessary. I would definitely recommend them.

Professional, experienced, reliable work done by considerate craftsmen. Universal has done numerous repairs for us at our home and we couldn't be happier. The latest was to reinstall a storm door that separated from the door jamb after years of water leakage (that Artan fixed last year), but the damage was done and the stud was rotted. Ed and Jose did a fantastic job and carefully removed all the rotted wood, replaced it with new wood, then expertly reinstalled the door, which works perfectly now. My homes roof had a leak going on for a little while now so I gave Universal Roofing & Chimney Of Li Inc a call and the lady was able to send Artan out the next mornning. He showed up and inspected the leak and took photos of everything for me. He even checked out our chimney which we were having issues with also. We agreed upon the estimate price which was fair. The entire project was completed within two days including roof repair and chimney repair. It was a no brainer to go with Universal based on the fact they did a flawless job repairing my relatives roof a few weeks ago. My roof has been repaired properly by Universal Roofing & Chimney. Artan was able to come out the same evening and inspect the leaks. He was able to repair the roof and we no longer have any leaks. The price of the repair was pretty fair. We do plan on getting a new roof from them soon. read more
