I took in a new car (new to me, used) yesterday for the first oil change. Herald was our technician and he was absolutely wonderful. Beyond the oil change, he gave me a printout of the recommended services for my car (the dealer never gave me anything like that). He checked both the air filters, which were Absolutely Filthy!!! I don't think it's too much to expect a used car to at least have new air filters. Also, when I bought the car and took it on the open road for a 10 hour drive, I discovered that neither the cruise control nor the car charger worked! So, I asked Herald if he thought the charger might just be a fuse. He checked and it was. He fixed it in two minutes or less. I'm not even sure he charged me for that. He was so clearly fully cognizant about all things mechanical, and he emanated trustworthiness like crazy. Outstanding service but holy smokes are they pricy. Unfortunately, my Equinox requires a specific type of oil so the warranty doesn't void (all gimmicks thanks to good ol' GM!) While one mechanic worked on my oil change, the other put air in my tires. The mechanic walked me through every step which was nice, and at the end, he made sure everything was still working properly in my car. Once it was all complete, he showed me my oil stick to ensure it actually had oil inside. Like I said, really outstanding service. I'm hoping the $53 spent on an oil change, that I don't have to get for another 5,000 miles, lasts long. read more

Let me tell u how I have been to many oil changes and most of the time i leave feeling uncertain or uncomfortable like I've been taken advantage because I'm a female who does not know much about cars and oils changes and all that fun stuff. Coming here they were so informative, patient and very very honest and not to mention how fast and efficient they were. *Update: My mom went back to the shop & they refunded her $40. Her receipt had showed a $30-something labor fee?! I updated from 1 to 4 stars, because they tried to make it right. * My mom, who is 77, took her car there for a basic oil change. She's never had an issue with doing this herself. She came home upset, because she was charged over $70 for a basic oil change. She normally pays 1/2 that price whenever she's had it done before. This was her 1st & last time trying this shop. Do not send your moms or grandmas to this shop. They will take advantage of them. Do not recommend this shop. read more

This place is the only spot I go to get my oil change. I've never had a problem. The workers are so friendly and kind. They always start up a conversation with me which makes me feel so welcomed. I highly recommend this spot for oil changes. They keep my car running like new. They even did a quick courtesy light check and free safety inspection. I like that Ben (who owns the shop) still works at this location. I am treated very kindly by all members of the staff. I never worry that recommendations will be made to "work" on my car that are not needed. There is never any pressure. They do have standard maintenance recommendations but do not push you to get them done, like I have seen at other well known national chains. read more

I have been getting my oil changed at Universal Quick Lube for 5 years. I remember my first oil change from Harold his level of service was outstanding, pleasant friendly and professional. Every oil change since then has been the same regardless of who takes care of my car. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and does not push services that you don't need like other oil change places. My 84 yr old mother utilized UQL as well. I have tried other oil change places when I am out of the area and nobody compares to Universal! I strongly recommend UCL for oil changes! read more

I can't complain about the $19.99 oil change. However, if you are going to put air in my tires, it might be a good idea to put air in ALL FOUR TIRES!!! Driving around with driver side at 40psi and passenger side at 33. Either put air in all four or don't put air in at all. read more

This place is awesome! I go here for my oil changes and other car services. I work in Warren and I pass this place up on my morning commute, which is so convenient whenever I need to get something done. I was always so clueless when it came to getting things done on my car, but somebody that I work with recommended that I try this place out a few years ago. I am so glad I did because they have never disappointed me, and are always so consistent. Unlike many other places that I've been to, this place will never try to up-charge you or try to sell you things that you don't need. The owner is always here when I come in (which shows how dedicated he is to his business) and is always so friendly and helpful.
