I recall been here more than 10yrs ago for an oil change and these guys were great. But yesterday I called out of an emergency where one of my suspension shock mount stud has broken off and the back brakes are not stopping fast enough. So I called a few shops around the area and only this location confirmed that they have the availability to get my car in right away. Other shops wanted me to leave the car there so they can look into it the next day. 1.5 hour later these guys called back and informed me on what's wrong with my suspension mount and asked for my approval on repairs. Another hour or so later they were done with the car and left a voicemail for pickup. The price for the repair was reasonable. This is the place to go for your car repairs. I needed a new muffler and pipe and the dealer wanted $1,000 just for the part so I got a recommend to bring it here. I spoke with Sam who went out of his way to help me solve the situation within my budget. They were able to do the work and put in new pipe and a muffler. The total for parts and labor was a fraction of what the dealer wanted just for the part. I had another problem that Sam took care of and the dealer misdiagnosed the problem. When I asked to have the part replaced that the dealer said needed fixing the car still wasn't working right and so I took it back to Sam he swapped out my old part refunded me for it and told me what was actually wrong. I wanted to get a second opinion about the exhaust leak on my 2000 Saturn, so I called the day after I picked up my car from a competitor. Sam, the store manager, answered and told me to bring my car in so he could inspect it before asking me to make an appointment. This was a Friday afternoon. I told him I'd be there Saturday morning. The technician showed me where the leak was and gave me an estimate that was hundreds less than the competitor's. I just needed one pipe to be replaced, and not the whole system. My car didn't turn to gold after getting the Midas touch but it does in fact work again! I've come here before when I have needed new brake pads. A second visit was for getting my rear view mirror glued back onto the glass. Both times I believe that the manager has been honest to me about what is needed of my car and also very friendly and accommodating of my schedule. No one likes to have to spend money towards getting their car fixed, but if and when the time arises that it is needed, Midas is a place worth going to. read more

I was referred here by a repeat customer. I was having some suspension problems and the dealership wanted almost $1500.00. They were able to look at my car and diagnose it quickly. On top of that the price was half of what the dealership wanted. The manager allowed me to use a loaner vehicle while mine was being repaired. Unfortunately, I had to return my car a week later as the part was defected. I was given another loaner car and the repair was covered under the warranty they provided. Great friendly service that solved my problem after after spending $530.00 at Pep Boys on 14 Mile Rd in Clawson. Pep Boys was told that I had a load Noise when I drove my and my check engine light was on. Pep Boys did fine a problem/they said and replaced a module, but didn't fix the noise problem that I was concerned about and they had my SUV for a day and 1/2. So I drove it back home and still had the very loud noise that I took it there for. So I went back to them re: the noise problem & they told me that it was a very small hole in my muffler causing the noise. And they didn't work on mufflers and I needed to go to a muffler shop. So these is why I came here. I told them that I needed a new muffler and they told me that they would check it out. To my surprise it was not my muffler after all. I had a very dangerous wheel bearing problem, it was so hot that it was actually smoking. And could have caused my wheel to fall off, I was very happy to find the real problem. They replaced it in about a hour and half, test drove it and all is well. No more noise and I can drive safely, the charge was $310 which I've been told is a very good price for having that part replacement. Thanks for your Great work and Service, I will be back. And will Not be going back to Pep Boys. read more

After having a rear collision to my SUV, I had to leave my car at The Collision Shop of Troy for 7 weeks. After finally picking it up, the car seemed to have more than just body damage, and it still needed an alignment, so I took it to Precision Auto in Royal Oak to see what was happening underneath the car. Their technicians gave me no explanations and seemed a bit unsure of the one repair they said the car needed, so I took it for a second opinion to Midas who I have used in the past and fully trust. They realized after two minutes of talking to me that the repairs to my suspension were due to the prior collision the car was involved in and told me this is an issue with the collision shop and my insurance company. I chose to leave my car with Midas to repair rather than deal with the collision shop of Troy again. Sam and his team at Midas worked quickly and efficiently to get my car up and running again within a day. I will highly recommend their services to friends and family in the future. Going to a mechanic has to be on my top 10 list of phobias. So my whip was having some braking issues where they felt like they needed to be replaced. Also my ABS and traction control light was coming on for no reason. So I stopped in here and was greeted very nicely by the manager and explained my problems to him. He said I could leave it there and he'd have it fixed that day, but I couldn't do it so I said the next Monday. Stopped in at 7:30am the next Monday to drop off the car and as I sat in the lobby setting up an Uber to work, the manager asked if I needed a ride!! I said sure! So I got a ride to work and had a nice convo with one of the mechanics. The manger called me around noon and explained that it wasn't actually my brakes, but it was a traction control issue. So he quotes me a price and said it will be ready in about an hour. He called me when the job was complete and I went and got it and the car has been riding perfecting ever since. Very impressed with Midas on Maple Rd in Troy. I had that ominous sound of needing a muffler. I was uncertain who to take the car to. I called around and was told by several service shops that it could range from $100 to over $2,000. Since the Yelp reviews were very good, I called the Midas store in Troy. I spoke with Sam the owner. I felt very comfortable talking with him. When I brought the car in to him, he lifted it up to look at it and said it was just a bad gasket. I took my car in for brakes and a fluid flush based on a quote from the dealership. Upon inspection, it was decided that I only need rear brakes now, the front is in great shape and the fluid still has at least another 10,000 miles. What? My husband and I have been taking our cars to this location for almost 10 years. What made us switch to Midas forever was when we took one of our cars in for regular maintenance at a local dealership and then had an issue (no issue when we dropped it off), took it back to the dealership and they told us it would be $600 to fix the problem- we took the car to Midas and they literally tightened something and we were on our way. No charge. After that I did get 1-2 other opinions for repairs but Midas was not only cheaper but they were friendly. So.. We've developed a "relationship" over 10 years. The guys know us when we come in. There isn't a big turnover of mechanics. It's a few of the same guys for YEARS. Yesterday my car was making noises.. I took it in to this location right away. I'm cringing thinking I need a whole new exhaust and suspension but it was a "weld together" and sway rods. My car is a 2004 so major work would not be a surprise. I'm certain that, if I took my car anywhere else, I'd get a quote for an entire new exhaust. And god knows what else! I know (and still think) car noises/repairs are a scary thing but I'm SO happy that the Midas staff is there! read more

These guys are the best! I like to do some of my own work on cars but when I get stumped or things go wrong, I turn the job to these guys. They never criticize anything and they simply offer to fix it. They don't complain about anything, the technicians are friendly and very willing to answer your questions if you ask them nicely. I had a great experience at this Midas. The manager was incredibly transparent in the fixes that were necessary vs. recommended. For the recommended fixes he educated you on what they affect so you could decide if that was something you wanted to have fixed or could live with it as is. Upon pick-up of my car I was very impressed of this explanation of the service - he took you though everything they fixed (showing your old brake pads vs. new ones, etc) and even had a diagram of the underneath of a car to point out how everything works together. read more
