    rim bulging out of box
    Ron C.

rim shipped to me in a box SMALLER than it. Rim measures 23.5, box is 22x22. all 4 sides had a large protrusion so that the box couldn't even sit flat! A coin could be put in the gap between the floor and box. Then they suggested that I build it up and after the lacing, tensioning, truing, if it still looks bad, they'll "have my back." How cute. Update: It's been 2 weeks and I still don't have a replacement rim. I checked tracking and it ended up going to an address that I haven't lived at in years. The rim shipped in the box smaller than it did turn out to be damaged.

I like supporting local bike shops but I don't like driving around to every one not knowing if they'll have the part I want.

It felt like they expanded it or made it more spacious and better lighting. It was super organized. There's also a little play area for kids in the kids section and everything was laid out nicely. I enjoyed exploring and walking around there! Maybe one day I'll find something that fits and it my range (price wise!)

Men's, women's, kids, footwear, accessories -- everything is clearly laid out and easy to shop. The staff is friendly without hovering, and they're genuinely helpful if you need sizing or product recommendations. The real highlight? The pricing. Deep discounts across Columbia, Mountain Hardwear, SOREL, and prAna make it very hard to leave empty-handed. It's the kind of place where you go in "just to look" and walk out fully outfitted for your next hiking trip, ski season, or rainy Portland winter. Inventory rotates, so every visit feels a little different. I've found everything from lightweight summer layers to serious winter parkas. Quality is exactly what you expect from Columbia -- durable, functional, and built for the Pacific Northwest. Pro tip: Go in with a plan (and maybe a budget). It's dangerously good. If you get the chance to shop here, take it.

I usually try to get a place so that the lines (the do not park here) are for my door because sometimes bending to get in or out of the car is more difficult if swollen etc. I was just starting to open my door and a gent flew into the lined space nearly taking my door off so that he could argue with his wife and teen as to who was going into a store. I was seriously paralyzed with fear - seriously dude... I am already in ADA, please don't kill me! SOOOO, apparently park here with caution. This was on a Friday so perhaps it is rougher heading into the weekend. I will say that the store does seem light on clothing and heavier on home things. I did see entirely too much I wanted to take home. Getting through the registers was pretty fast even with how busy the store was which was nice indeed. And, as with all these type of stores - some of the best things are in the line on shelves.

Anyways, when I entered there was a kind lady who greeted me and offered to help me wipe the cart handle down. I didn't need it but am happy to see someone helps sanitize it before you use it. There was also a person who greeted me and was counting how many customers entered and also had plenty of sanitizers for us to use. There were arrows to guide you but this Marshalls and probably like many others, are quite crowded. Everything is very close so you'll be very close to people too if it's a busy day. I guess those who don't mind can be close together but I tend to wait till the aisle is less busy before I check it out. I didn't buy anything but noticed they have a white wall between each cashier and customer.

And as I got older, they didn't carry the more fashionable clothes I prefer. This year, while doing a search for a faux black leather pants, JC Penny's had a pair online that were more attractive than any other options that came up during the search. They arrived within a few days and were very nice, well made, stylish, but way too long. Like 6 inches too long. 2 alteration places quoted me $50 to hem. Not happening. So I ventured to the store to do a return to avoid paying return postage. Upon entering the store, I wondered if they were closed. There is no one there! Worse, all the previous cashier stations are gone and no associates anywhere to ask for assistance. I wandered through every section of the first floor, past very dated looking clothing, and finally found an associate in the makeup department. She explained that online returns, and all purchases, are handled back by the shoe department. Plus just one other location on 1st floor and one cashier on 2nd floor. Well, I guess if there are so few customers, this makes sense, but it does nothing to contribute to a positive experience to create repeat purchases. Sure enough, I found the cashier, and the few other customers, all perplexed, wondering if this was where they should be paying for their purchases. My return was processed, after 10 minutes of very challenging system issues where they could not locate my order, and with manager assistance, th3 return was completed. I purchased a pair of Sketchers while there. As I made my way to the other end of the store to exit, the alarm went off and I realized they didn't cut off the sensor. So back through the entire store again. Definitely got in my steps, but that wasn't the point of my visit.

Great for Shoes, Not Much Else…read more First off, this employee store is much harder to get into than the Columbia or Adidas employee stores. It's pretty rare that I get a pass -- usually it's through my 107ist membership -- so I end up going maybe once a year, if that. On the plus side, there's plenty of parking and the store itself is clean and well organized. The clothing selection is definitely trendy... maybe too trendy. It feels geared more toward teenagers and young adults. I've visited a few times now and honestly haven't found any apparel that interests me. A lot of it comes off as flashy. I was hoping to see more outfits tied to big events like the Winter Olympics or the World Cup, but while they did have a few jackets and pants, they were pretty boring overall. The real draw here is the shoes. About half the store is dedicated to footwear, and there are some really nice options. Most shoes are around 40% off, with the non-discounted pairs clearly marked. Prices on display shoes usually range from about $145-$220, so you can do the math to decide if it's worth it. Even with discounts, many pairs still start around $80 and go up from there. Clothing, on the other hand, still felt overpriced even after the employee store markdowns. I've been here three times now and still haven't bought a single thing. In comparison, I've purchased multiple items at other brand employee stores. That said, if you're already planning to buy Nike shoes, this can definitely be a solid deal. One standout positive: the employees have always been very friendly and helpful.
