I love kombucha. It's just such a healthier option than going to a bar. I've been to unity vibrations a number of times. Each time is always more delightful than the last so I figured that the rest of the world should know how amazing they are with this review They keep a selection of kombucha teas and beers on tap and the flavors are outstanding. This time I did a flight and they were all delicious. I especially like the ones with ginger. The usually have a band playing the weekends and it's a really chill atmosphere. I wasn't really sure if I would like this spot. In fact I was sure that I wouldn't. I'm not a tea drinker so tea infused beer seemed gross to me. But I needed the tag so we decided to give it a shot. We got there at 9 am when they opened. Haha. We didn't even know if they would sell beer that early but they do! The brewer was a very nice guy and he helped us make our choices. He offered us some samples. I ordered the citrus blood orange which really surprised me. I don't like sours either and this was described as tasting like a sour. But I loved it! The vibe in the brewery was very casual. It's more like a big garage or warehouse. It's decorated all in local artists'work. Excellent. I don't know that we would come back specifically to that brewery but I do recommend you give it a try! read more

I believe I've found my spirit space! This place is fabulous. I'm a huge kombucha fan and was excited to experience it on tap. This place makes outstanding varieties both in alcoholic and non alcoholic forms. The flavors are fab, as well and you can try free samples. In the back of the building there is live music and outdoor picnic tables. To the right, there is a tiki bar which makes liquor- infused cocktails and wooded scenery with a bonfire pit. After listening to 2 bands, we decided to sit indoors to imbibe and play some board games. The decor is very bohemian, with dim lighting and local art. You can even see the numerous vats that they use to brew the kombucha. I tried a sample of the elderman and decided to go with that. My friends got the bourbon peach and raspberry and they were both delicious, as well. I met up with a friend of mine here, since she was a local from Canton, Michigan. She has a passion for these kinds of concoctions and I had nothing better to do. We arrived here at Unity Vibration, which offers a variety of kombucha beers and teas around 3pm on a brisk Friday afternoon. My friend wanted to try this place and I'm like, alright, got nothing else going on. Lol I came here with an open mind and got a taste of pineapple flavored kombucha tea, among a flight of samples my friend wanted to try. The place itself was quiet and was set up like a small Starbucks esque cafe, but it's basically in a large warehouse storage facility. It was quite a homespun feel to it. I learned during my stay here that they manufacture their kombucha brews here and ship them regionally. My initial reaction to the pineapple flavored tea was quite interesting and quite refreshing. It did taste like a fizzy soda in a couple of ways, but the others that were sampled tasted sour or bitter. After trying the initial flight of drinks, I would say that the pineapple one was the best for my taste buds for sure. I remember the ginger too and it was sour. My friend and I hung out here and enjoyed the ambiance for about 45 minutes. It was nice to be here on a casual Friday afternoon. The overall experience here at Unity Vibration was quite chill and seemed like an aforementioned Starbucks reference, but like a bar too, but not grimy. The seating was fairly small for patrons, only sporting about 2-3 tables, while the rest of the space was used for their distribution and wholesale side of their business. While we were there, they were beginning to set up a live band of some sort for the evening. This is a place to hang out, if you are into the type of kombucha offerings and in the west Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Ypslanti area of Michigan. It's quite hip and cutting edge for trends, if you can see that. Unity Vibrations is located at 93 Ecorse Road in Ypslanti, Michigan. They accept major credit cards, which is always a good thing, as well as cash. Not sure if they have public wifi or public restrooms either, but one can ask if necessary. They have a small but private parking lot in the back of the building. Try not to park next to the auto repair shop. Not sure if they have public transportation options in Ypslanti, but uber and lyft can be your best bet to get here. Kombucha is an acquired taste and I'm glad that my friend took me here. Unity Vibrations was a cool experience. My friend took the care of explaining that I was from Hawaii and the dude at the counter just smiled and asked what part of Hawaii I was from. It was awkward, but kind of cool at the same time. After soaking up the ambiance and finishing up the flight of kombucha teas, my friend bought a couple of bottles of kombucha teas to go and we headed out. The décor seemed very simplistic though. Rustic with a sense of style. It was cool that they have this place in a small warehouse. The service was friendly and fast. I could see myself returning here, if my travels come through Detroit / Ypslanti / Ann Arbor on a future trip. I couldn't feel any central air conditioning though, but it didn't feel stuffy. Still, it was a nice place to hang out in and taste test kombucha teas for the first time ever. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 4.0 stars for the ambiance, service, and overall cool factor. 4.0 stars for the teas, even though some of them didn't agree with my tastebuds. And the owner and staff are super friendly! I got a flight which all were awesome I really enjoyed the coffee kombucha especially since it was paired with another of my favorite local businesses zingermans. Maybe it's the west coast hippie soul in me but I loved everything about this place! Back in Arizona, many years ago my roommates and I discovered their kombucha beer in a local grocery store. It became a staple item in our fridge. Since then we've been hooked. And in a full circle moment some friends from Arizona visited Michigan and we trekked out to their tap room. Such a cool place with a very warm and welcoming team. We got a flight of all the beers and teas they had on tap and it was really cool to try them all. Lately I've been loving the craft beer around me in Michigan, the various sour and kombucha beers that lately popped up and became available. Unity Vibration is an A++ place, with a friendly staff, and fantastic kombucha beer and tea (some coffee too!) varieties. I've been here on a couple nights to just grab a pint with a buddy but mostly loved the availability of popping in and filling my growlers so I could enjoy the kombucha at the house. If you're into kombucha / sour beer, this is a great local brewery to support. There's no way I would give this place 3 stars. That's really disappointing, Yelp community. Can you find a place like this just anywhere? Ummm, no, you can't. :) It's a little tough to find (a sign by the street would go a long way, according to my wife) but maybe that's a good thing. I like that it feels kind of tucked away, an unpretentious factory space that has no frills but has a whole lot of good vibes and good drinks. The interior is super chill, very minimalistic with music that keeps it mellow and fun, the way it should be. Jacob, our host with the most, was a cool dude who showed us around; I'd totally suggest a tour of the small place to really appreciate what this is all about. Be mindful though, they only have one guy for the whole place - so, on a night like tonight, you may have to just take it easy for a bit while they attend to other people. They'll get to you, though. Promise! :) We had a flight, which came with our Groupon. It helped us try basically everything they had on tap. The wife really loved the Citra Blood Orange, which had a nice tart/sour punch that made it stand out from the other Kombucha Beers. I honestly loved all of the flavors (buying the Raspberry for my sister, which was smooth and slightly sweet, it was clear that the flavor was packed with fresh raspberries). Bourbon Peach was what made me intrigued with Unity Vibrations (I love Kombucha, peaches are my favorite fruit, and, well... I've always been a bourbon guy). Jacob let us try the Cold Pressed Coffee Kambucha (can we please just stock my office with this? Seriously!). We got a bottle of the KPA (their healthy Kombucha version of an IPA), a Ginger and the Elderwand (elderberry, blackberry, buckwheat and hops). I walked in star-struck by the Bourbon Peach but left head-over-heels with the Elderwand. Unity Vibration is all about making you feel good from the inside out. They preach peace, love and happiness (yes, totally hippy, but what's wrong with that?). If you are into kombucha, this is the place for you! However, if you are looking for a nice bar, this is not the place for you. I really liked it, but keep in mind, it is a very bare bones / hipsterish / hole-in-the-wall place. (I think some of the bad reviews are from people who don't really know what kombucha is and come here looking for a regular bar.) The kombucha tastes really good! I don't drink beer, but since it was kombucha beer, I did try some and did a 7 flight sampler of the kombucha beer (8% alcohol) and regular kombucha (1%). I'm not sure if it's just because I usually don't drink alcohol, but the beer got me very, very buzzed. I could not drive after and ended up walking about a mile into town to get food. Ha! (Shout out to Encuentro Latino Restaurante for having awesome food!). The service was excellent as well! We also got a tour of their facility. It basically felt like I was making a friend with the one employee there in the tasting room. I am so happy there is a place around here that makes kombucha naturally! This is the kind of place I would have liked to happen upon in my twenties. A place to meet up with friends, enjoy conversation, and enjoy a . . . well, kombucha either wasn't around then, or I hadn't heard of it . . . so I guess I would have enjoyed whatever the place served. Unity Vibrations is beyond a bare bones operation, with benches constructed of 2x 4's and plywood, and cheap high top tables with chalkboard surfaces. Chalk supplied for your drawing pleasure. It's obvious from the get go who the owner is, and how much he loves his business, products, and customers. You won't find anything here but kombucha, and possibly the most laid back atmosphere existing within a hundred miles. Don't come hungry. Do dress in layers, as there is little insulation inside, and the cold makes its way through your clothes to your skin, leaving people like me shivering. Not what I expected, but worth a visit with friends. We enjoyed our time here. read more

kumbucha beer- my new fave! The brewery is only open Friday and Sat from like 5pm to 10pm for tasting and fresh on tap kumbucha beer. I had the bourbon peach and my companion had the ginger. The beer is sooo good but careful it is 6% and it sneaks up on you because it is so delicious it is easy to drink it . They also have some low alcohol kumbucha teas that are 1% which I am eager to try. You can walk through the brewery on tasting nights and I think they have tours during the week. It is way in the back of the parking lot on an industrial site off Ecorse in Ypsilanti. They have 4-5 tables sat up and some homegrown decorations, it is a real cute little place to have a beer! read more

Really don't understand the good reviews. It's like drinking beer after hours at a Belle Tire. Very limited seating made from whatever was laying around. Smells wafting over from the vats and a bathroom that seemed to barely survive a hurricane. No TV, no music no atmosphere. The beer is unique, not really my taste but at least something out of the ordinary and I guess it being sort of off the grid makes it worth 2 stars. I don't see myself coming back but some place everyone should try once. Maybe things will change, I remembering thinking similar things about The Wolverine Brewery when it first opened (although way nicer) and its expanded nicely. read more

This is probably one of the strangest brewpubs I have visited. The place is a warehouse off the road and the night we visited the lights were out so it was a little spooky trying to find our way in. Once inside Jacob was more than willing to let us know about how their brews were made. There are tables with tops made from barrel tops, a movie projected on the garage door (tonight a Japanese anime) and the bathroom labeled "elevator". The brews which are made with tea as a base were surprisingly tasty. I especially like the bourbon peach and the one (I forget the name) with black pepper, dates and other spices. I went on a tour of the brewery and was fascinated by the process and dedication the staff puts into every bottle. I love that a healthy beer exists. My wife can only have Gluten Free so finding a bar with even a single option is tough, but not at this place. Every beer and Tea is Gluten Free! A real find! Then when I did they never got back to me. The build is small and cold, with uncomfortable furniture. And it's really difficult to find it in the first place. I had had kombucha once or twice before but never experienced it this way. I also didn't know that they had kombucha beer.
