Came for the first time with the lady and the pups. Staff was very friendly and provided treats for our dogs! Beer choice was moderate sized and had very delicious drinks they offered. Burger was FANTASTIC and absolutely am looking forward to another date night at hear say!

When you first enter EBC, you might wonder if you're in the right place. No bar or tables in sight…read morewhen you walk through that door on the side of a cinder-block barn in an industrial park by the airport, just some dusty production space, and a folding chair holding a bell with the words "Ring for Beer" printed on the side. We did, and shortly heard a voice inviting us to come into the adjacent tasting room (open only Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). On premises, you're limited to tastes only--four ounce sample pours, drawn from open cans, are available. Beer to go comes in cans, which you can purchase singly, or in six packs with whatever selections you like. Six pack purchases earn a 15% discount, which is nice since the beer is a bit on the expensive side (see menu pics below). Our favorites were the Marzen and the rye barrel imperial stout (the one that really knocked it out of the park!). The brown ale was excellent too. The man behind the bar was very pleasant to talk to and knowledgeable about beer generally. He told us their beers are available at about 20 local stores, as well as on tap in some bars. I hope to see some of those in the future, or perhaps some extended hours for the tasting room.

This is a super cute spot that specializes in smoked meat and sausages... yes please. We ordered at the counter and the employees were very friendly and helpful with great suggestions. I got the Michigan asparagus, onion, and cheddar brat, and Nate got the currywurst. We also got a cup of chili to share. We got a buzzer for our order and then sat down in the heated outdoor space. They have a lot of outdoor seating and some firepits, so I really want to come back in the fall or summer. Our food was done quickly and we had fun picking stuff from the toppings bar. They had chopped onions, jalapenos, banana peppers, sauerkraut etc. and lots of sauces. I LOVED the brat. It was easy to bite and not super snappy which I didn't mind. The bun was perfectly toasted and the flavor combination was delicious. Kind of like a broccoli cheddar vibe. I had some of the currywurst which was also delicious! The chili was packed with brisket and pulled pork, and was really tasty. There is a bar so you can enjoy a beer with your sausage, but we just grabbed some cold drinks from the cooler. They even have ice cream and floats!! There are lots of great items for sale as well, including lots of pickled things, frozen pierogi, meat sticks and jerky, and they even have Trenary Toast (#iykyk). I am already planning my next visit to try more brats and the brisket sandwich. This is such a great concept and I really wish we had a place like this in Grand Rapids.

We were here in December so the patio wasn't open but looks roomy with many picnic tables. We opted to sit at the bar because that's usually where we get personal with brew pubs we love to discover. We always search local brews when traveling and 9/10 times the bartender will greet us, ask if we've been there, make recommendations or tell us a bit about the brewery style. Not here. I'm not sure the bartender ever even made eye contact and pretty sure he wanted to be there even less than he wanted us to be there. We did get a few beer samples by request, but no recommendations, he didn't ask what we thought and he made us feel very unwelcome right from the start. However, once that bartender was relieved the new bartender was chatty and friendly to the new customers. We had finished our beers and meal by that time and just needed to cash out. So I would say maybe it's just that one employee. We had the pretzels. Kudos to the pretzel bread-- it was delicious. Beer cheese was pretty good, as was the mustard. We asked about the menu and what he recommends (still trying to be friendly and get him to warm up). He recommended the special menu, so we ordered the Blackened Salmon sandwich. It was okay/average. Fries were cold. We ordered the Table Talk beer and I enjoyed it. I'd say that the beer was the best part of the whole experience. Overall I'm glad we tried it but we wouldn't go back. If the bartender had been more welcoming and interested in sharing a bit more about the concept, we would give it a second try when we head out there again. It's always good to try other food items and beers, but the vibe doesn't warrant a second try. I can understand if a place is busy, but we were there at 2pm on a Saturday and were two of four at the bar and he didn't look to be super busy with the restaurant as a whole. It's always so disappointing when service falls so short on something that could be such a unique experience. Three stars for the beer and pretzel.
