I thought it was my imagination until I asked Cathy Zhang, owner/pharmacist, about it and she explained that their ears different degrees of materials. However since their staff is busy doing what they do best - making drugs, they don't really provide all of the other bells and whistles of customer service that you find with the big corporate pharmacies like Walgreens or CVS. My doctor directed me to have my prescription filled here. She didn't send it in electronically, but instead wrote the ingredients on a prescription paper. She suggested I call them first to make sure they had the ingredients before going. I did, but there was some confusion on whether they had the ingredients because of the way I was pronouncing the ingredients and/or my phone was cutting out. Thankfully they had an email address, so I sent them a picture and they replied right away that they could make the medication immediately. I drove to the facility. The woman at the front seemed to be working multiple tasks and wasn't privy to the conversation I had previously on the phone, so we had to go through everything again. Once everything checked out, I had a small wait in the lobby before they came out with a paper white bag with my medicine inside. There were no instructions or "scare sheets" included, so I just had to go by what my doctor discussed in my appointment. In the end, I got a 60 day supply for $150 which seemed quite expensive. I took one, and an hour later, I was so sick. My blood pressure skyrocketed and I ended up with one of the worst headaches I had ever had. I thought I was going to have to go to the ER, but I managed to wait it out. By the next morning, my blood pressure had dropped to a normal range and the excruciating pain in my head subsided. I had an unfortunate experience here and with this overly potent medication. Had I used one of the corporate pharmacies, I would have had a consult with a pharmacist, had a detailed sheet explaining the medication and expected side effects as well as best practices for taking it. In the future, I will ask for this to ensure a layer of protection.

Be patient, bug them on Monday even if you know you're not getting your script until Friday. Then call and ask again on Tuesday! They can only order meds Mon-Thur. NOT FRIDAY...which will make you pissed because you won't be able to get it then until the following Monday. Yes, they're open on Saturday, but that goes for ALL pharmacies!!! I've noticed a surge overall from the public in buying medications, just remember that Pfizer headquarters recently got ran through from a tornado. If you have to wait, it's because they are doing the best that they can to compensate for that. All pharmacies will be affected. I like to say, don't hate the player, hate the game...and over the last couple years, all of Big Pharma have given us a rotten deal. The Covid shot is being proven ineffective and now, everyone has more health problems than they did. Remember, this is an independent pharmacy...which means, ONE location. Get on your phone, give them a call, ASK if they have what you need. My final and most important piece of advice is to ASK FOR A PAPER PRESCRIPTION. I have lost a few prescriptions due to failure to follow through on my own doctors end, (who is also about to get a review from me today) IF you do YOUR part, stay on top of things and if he doesn't have it, you won't have to worry about it because you have a paper script, and can ask if they have something. Especially now in this time. I've been let down more by my own general practitioner MD, than I ever have by Live Oak.

My first experience solidified my plan to never go to CVS or another pharmacy again. We were in and out in under 5 minutes--it's like hitting a small lottery when you have a sick toddler in tow, and I love it even more that he's located directly across from our pediatrician's office within the same building (we go to Richardson Pediatrics). I haven't seen a sign for it from the outside, so it's not obvious from the street. It's located inside a one story brown building on the northeast corner of Arapaho and Floyd, along with a lot of pediatrician offices. Once you step foot inside, you'll see clear "pharmacy" signs. You can tell he's working hard to build his business and to make it succeed by offering services like free delivery within a 3 mile range. He also mentioned if I were in a real emergency and needed to get something filled, I can try calling him, too--something you won't get with the larger pharmacies.
