I was not violating any policy. I was simply waiting; They told police that my medicine was not an immediate need like insulin violating my HIPPA privacy rights. One of the medications they failed to fill was needed for a post operative surgical need requiring my doctor on day of surgery to find an alternative pharmacy to dispense the medication. This experience was humiliating and alarming. Calling law enforcement on a black woman disabled veteran for waiting for medication reflects poor judgment and raises seriously concerns about racial bias. That is great for a four year old but a 74+ year old make it difficult to stand up. No handicap handle to assist standing up. Easy to fall if you are older. I understand there are regulations regarding prescription medications, but it's incredibly frustrating to lose that much money while already facing the enormous financial burden of fertility treatment. Pharmacies that specialize in IVF often say they are here to support patients, but experiences like this make it hard to feel that way. I wish there were more compassion or flexibility for patients who have experienced pregnancy loss and are already struggling with the costs of fertility care.

The prescription I have been taking for the past 9 years can carry some unwanted stigma. I have always been tretaed very poorly by the big box pharmacies, Walgreens, CVS, etc. I also travel for work and if I need to fill early they make you jump through hoops, if they even consider it at all.
