They do NOT CARE if the kids are allergic or whatever, THEY HAVE TO GET THEIR WAY. I am pulling out my girl for sure!

The coach sat the entire time, simply giving instructions, which made it difficult for my daughter, who is brand new, to keep up with the warm-ups and across-the-floor exercises. Despite this being a Tumbling 1 class, they were doing back walkovers and front walkovers during across-the-floor drills. How is this considered a beginner-level class? My daughter didn't receive any spotting, even though she can't do a back walkover yet and was trying her best to keep up. I initially gave the coach the benefit of the doubt since she mentioned she wasn't feeling well that day. However, when we returned the following week, it was the same thing. The coach began the class sitting down, gave instructions, demonstrated a little, but again didn't spot or assist the new students at all. It feels like a Tumbling 1 class here assumes you're already trained and just need a space to practice. While the coach seems skilled, they lack the teaching approach necessary for beginners. A true beginner class should involve more hands-on assistance and spotting to help build confidence and ensure the students are learning safely. This is not how a beginner program should be run.

Albiet, head space and determination are a whole part of this- we discovered try outs were just 10 days away. I reached out to various cheer companies and got nothing not even a returned phone call. Coach Lati, stepped in! From the start day 1 my daughter learned soooo much! We effectively did 8 sessions and my daughter jumped into open practice for the school and cheer clinic week of tryouts... Coach Lati encouraged her and worked closely to work as hard as she was willing ( would of been nice to have more time not suggesting this was ideal) what we can only dream up Coach Lati truly is!! MY DAUGHTER MADE THR JV TEAM!! We couldn't of done this without Coach Lati!!! She is amazing in every way - made it fun and focused all the right details!!! In the end that's all you want is someone to coach you so you can give your best and have a shot!! She is your girl - can't beat one on one!! Doesnt hurt she was an NFL professional cheerleader - she keeps it real and fun!! Love Coach Lati!!!

My daughter has done a fair amount of dance, but no gymnastics for many years and no cheer. Coach Lati taught her and the other girls (who also made their squads!) the fundamentals and did an excellent job preparing them for tryouts. So glad we found her.

At Focus she has studied ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, acro/tumbling, contemporary, and hip-hop. Her teachers have always been superb and the variety and quality of the instruction at Focus is far superior to that of her former dance studio. Through dance she has learned grace, rhythm, and balance. Through dancing at Focus she has learned, friendship, teamwork, and determination. The highlight of each dance season is the annual Concert (don't call it a recital!) that Focus produces in June at the end of the School year at the Barclay Theater on the UCI campus. Not only does it give the dancers the opportunity to be exposed to a "real" dance production, it is a delight for the parents, grandparents, and friends to watch their children perform on the big stage, in fabulous costumes with proper stage lighting and sound and hair and makeup. It's worth every penny!

On one occasion, the owner spoke with the teacher for over 10 minutes while the children were left waiting. When I pointed out that 15 minutes of class time had already passed, she responded that she was the owner and was discussing competition-related matters for another class. Those discussions could have taken place outside of class time, rather than at the expense of my children's paid lesson. She then suggested that we request a free class voucher. However, the issue is not about receiving another class--we attend at the scheduled time because that is when we are available. Scheduling an additional makeup class does not truly compensate for the lost time and requires us to make an extra trip, which is inconvenient and unnecessary.
