Although I've had nothing but positive experiences at Pasco Post office, I'm writing this in…read moreparticular to thank a worker there, by the name of Ina. I had medication being sent through the mail and it had gotten lost once long before it reached tri-cities. It was found and ended up at Pasco (where it should have been.) But unfortunately, somewhere after it left Pasco, it got lost again on the way to my local post office. I was frantic as the medication was now 2 days late. I called my local post office and there was nothing they could do. When I called Pasco (the last place it had departed). I spoke to Ina on the phone. She REALLY went above and beyond to try and help me track down this package. She spoke to me and got all the details, took down my name and number, then she started to search all over the loading docks and in every possible place a package might have gotten off track (even though it had clearly checked out of Pasco and was headed somewhere else entirely. She still double checked just to make sure). Ina tried to track down this package in every way she could think of. She also spoke to the post master at the local post office where I live. I received the package the next day. But that wasn't the end of this story to show to Ina and her willingness to go the extra mile. This evening she called me at 6 pm, I imagine she was done for the day by then, probably exhausted and ready to go home. But instead, she reached out and called just to make sure I received my package and got it all in one piece. I cannot believe she took the time to make that call, when we all know how busy and overworked the post office is right now (ESPECIALLY at this time of year). Thank you, Ina. (I really hope I am spelling your name right!) But you deserve massive kudos for being so professional, kind, diligent and thoughtful. GIVE THIS WOMAN A RAISE!!!!! Also, I appreciate the extended hours of the Pasco Post Office and any time I've had to go there, the facilities are clean and the staff are always very friendly. It's not my local post office but I've had to stop by a few times here or there and it's always a positive experience. (If a manager or supervisor, or someone up the ranks in the postal service would like to get in contact with me. I would gladly tell you the story directly and give you even further details of how very helpful, kind, and dedicated Ina was. My name is Stacey and you can reach me at DuchessStacey@gmail.com.)

Only one employee handling passport applications and pictures (she was great, though) and zero signage on where to go for passports, even though only one employee is handling them. When I got there I waited only about 10 minutes, but while I was waiting about 15-20 people got behind me in line without any movement made. I hope this post office gets more staff members and is able to upgrade their signage at some point soon. They don't make passport appointments intuitive for dummies like me! Side note: Apple Maps takes you to the employee only parking lot instead of the general parking lot, not sure why that is.

It's a real treat because as you come of the bridge crossing into Wallula the wind really picks up…read more I literally had to hold onto my car for fear of blowing away with a wind gust, no exaggeration. From this office, you get a really nice view of the Columbia River and the office is located on the outer road of the town so you don't have to go too far in to the town to get to the office. It's a simple office with well maintained landscape and perfect parking spots. The people are just as perfect and sweet. All I wanted was a book of stamps and you just kind of get to talking with them without even know it. I kinda miss that small town courtesy.

We spend the winter in California, but have lived in the Walla Walla area for 13 years. About 7 to…read more10 days prior to leaving for the winter we make sure we fill out the US Postal Service card to forward our mail to the temporary address in California. This past year we noticed after a while we were getting very little correspondence. After calling the Walla Walla post office asking to please fix the problem, we soon find out they started to forward only some of our mail to California, but the rest was being delivered to our house in Walla Walla. We call them again and felt things were finally fixed, but we just found out that some of our correspondence is being returned to the sender with a yellow label: RETURN TO SENDER, UNABLE TO FORWARD - NOT KNOWN. We cannot believe how they could mess things up again and again! For the last three years similar things have been having. Just one incident as an example, we were going to be gone for less than one month and filled out the appropriate card for the mail to be held for the month and went in person to the post office to give them the formal request. When we got back, we found they had continued to deliver our mail in our box by the road to the point it got so full that envelopes were falling on the ground and we lost a lot of important items. So we went in person to the post office to make a complaint and requested that the mail would be placed in a mail box attached to the house, just in case this would happen again. The manager was very rude and said she would not be able to allow us to change the location of the mail box because she was going to have to pay more to her delivery person for walking to the house (most residents have their mail box fixed to the house and not by the road and, by the way, we have a very short driveway). After insisting and asking her to be responsible for the lost correspondence, she agreed. We have been very frustrated with the poor service and lack of efficiency with the post office in Walla Walla, although we have heard from friends living in other states that they are having similar problems. Now we can see why the US Post Office is doing so poorly.

I feel like I'm giving away a neighborhood secret here - the line at this post office? Really…read moremoves! They often have three people working the retail counter. It doesn't look like much from the outside but these guys have it far more together than other area post offices. The parking situation is pretty dire on busy days - it's a small lot on the side of the building or residential street parking. Don't even bother trying to come on a Proctor Farmer's Market day. Otherwise, it's not too bad. Inside, it's clear that this post office hasn't seen any real work (and maybe cleaning) since the 70s sometime. That's okay, at least it doesn't smell of cigarette smoke like other post offices I can think of. The space is small and a little cramped but flows well for such a small space. There are four windows for retail transactions and they usually have three of them going. The employees have some of the standard surliness of postal employees but a few have a sense of humor - what a nice thing to run into, actual human postal workers! Things I ship from this post office go just as quickly as they do from Pine Street, A Street, or any of the other local post offices. Funny thing, though, they seem to arrive at their destinations in better shape. Don't all flood the post office at once, now, I have all of these packages to mail.

Just love Mary in Prosser. Always so kind and courteous. The staff in general are very helpful.read more
