Only one employee handling passport applications and pictures (she was great, though) and zero signage on where to go for passports, even though only one employee is handling them. When I got there I waited only about 10 minutes, but while I was waiting about 15-20 people got behind me in line without any movement made. I hope this post office gets more staff members and is able to upgrade their signage at some point soon. They don't make passport appointments intuitive for dummies like me! Side note: Apple Maps takes you to the employee only parking lot instead of the general parking lot, not sure why that is.

The flow of service was quick & we only had to wait about 10 minutes. The USPS clerk was: pleasant, courteous, & efficient. Her personality was such that she was very empathetic to my disability & truly treated me compassionately. She asked if I needed stamps, I said no thanks. She offered different rates & I decided on the delivery date of Monday, Yay; it would not take a week to get to my BFF in AZ! I highly recommend this USPS!

I have a block style mailbox so the courier has to pay attention to what apartment they are putting it in and somehow can rarely manage to put it in the correct one. It becomes a major inconvenience considering it is items I've ordered that cost money and I have to hope I get them whenever the person who received my package is honest enough to bring it to me. it is currently the holiday season and I need my package between a certain timeframe, I would've gotten it on time had the courier delivered it to the correct apartment. This is a very unprofessional branch of the US Postal Service. First, the clerks at the Pendleton office move in slow motion. Once you go to the front of the queue, there is a lack luster "greeting" and questions are answered with obviscation leaving out essential helpful facts. I understand that this is an institutional workplace, but I think they just stand there and take there pay without any consideration to provide actual, helpful service. I purchased a home and I wasn't informed that mail went to a corner deposit box. I had gone into the branch 3 or 4 times because the box on my house was empty of mail for weeks. It was only after speaking to someone the 3rd or 4th time that I was asked if I had a key to the deposit box. This was news to me. But once I dug through my keys that were left for me, I had no idea where the box was... they left that part out. Can you understand how someone new, might need more information? She told me I needed to pay $40 to get a new key, but that proved to be false. I had to get a refund by money order because of information I was told that was incomplete. What do you do with a money order? I went back and asked to cash the $40 money order and was told she didn't have enough cash in her register. I asked to speak to the supervisor, but she was having a chat fest over on the side... I could see them. Then everyone disappeared. I stood there for 5 more minutes and no one came out. I left the post office very angry for how I was treated. Every time I go there, it is a problem and they are not helpful. They laugh at you and think you are stupid, or you are the problem. They have no idea what people do in grocery stores or hardware stores where the work is complicated and hard, but you still smile even at less pay. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highly rated, the front staff is a 1. I have been there 4 times since moving to Pendleton and everytime it is a problem. I am 67 years old and I have NEVER encountered such a Postal branch. Congress is considering turning the post office over to a contractor because they run so much in debt... I think they should do it.

We turned the package around to show him the label because why would we drop off a pre-paid package with no label? He then got even more annoyed because he said he could barely read the label. He took out his scanner and dramatically tried to scan the label and complained it wouldn't scan. Instead of being helpful he was extremely rude to us about the label. Also he said he could not take the package because he couldn't scan it, but he could've just manually entered the numbers. This really made me mad because he was extremely rude and over dramatic about the package, instead of helping us fix the problem.

From this office, you get a really nice view of the Columbia River and the office is located on the outer road of the town so you don't have to go too far in to the town to get to the office. It's a simple office with well maintained landscape and perfect parking spots. The people are just as perfect and sweet. All I wanted was a book of stamps and you just kind of get to talking with them without even know it. I kinda miss that small town courtesy.

About 7 to…read more10 days prior to leaving for the winter we make sure we fill out the US Postal Service card to forward our mail to the temporary address in California. This past year we noticed after a while we were getting very little correspondence. After calling the Walla Walla post office asking to please fix the problem, we soon find out they started to forward only some of our mail to California, but the rest was being delivered to our house in Walla Walla. We call them again and felt things were finally fixed, but we just found out that some of our correspondence is being returned to the sender with a yellow label: RETURN TO SENDER, UNABLE TO FORWARD - NOT KNOWN. We cannot believe how they could mess things up again and again! For the last three years similar things have been having. Just one incident as an example, we were going to be gone for less than one month and filled out the appropriate card for the mail to be held for the month and went in person to the post office to give them the formal request. When we got back, we found they had continued to deliver our mail in our box by the road to the point it got so full that envelopes were falling on the ground and we lost a lot of important items. So we went in person to the post office to make a complaint and requested that the mail would be placed in a mail box attached to the house, just in case this would happen again. The manager was very rude and said she would not be able to allow us to change the location of the mail box because she was going to have to pay more to her delivery person for walking to the house (most residents have their mail box fixed to the house and not by the road and, by the way, we have a very short driveway). After insisting and asking her to be responsible for the lost correspondence, she agreed. We have been very frustrated with the poor service and lack of efficiency with the post office in Walla Walla, although we have heard from friends living in other states that they are having similar problems. Now we can see why the US Post Office is doing so poorly.

So I take the rock off and leave the lid to blow open. 4- your box doesn't have your address on it. (It's on the fence 10' away) I move the address next to the box. 5- The road is too rough. We grade the road. 6- it's too far...... Its .49 miles, under the. 5 limit. I file a complaint with the post master, she says we are. 57 miles from the mail box. I tell her we're not, she then says "Dawn's back is bad". Please do better!
