I've had two different congressional appointments to discuss with United States Postal Service, and why I can't get my new built & purchased house address activated and delivered. I talked to Congressman Allen's aid she forwarded my complaint about times, ended up on the desk of a woman named Pamela (706) 562-1882 Who handles the Georgia congressional Complaints. She called me 4:30 PM on a Friday and we talked. She said she would do an investigation and get back with me and She called back 19 minutes later left a voicemail that I'd have to get the cluster mailbox or pay for a PO Box and I still couldn't get certain packages delivered the end! Well state past 12 years ago a stupid law that new divisions and subdivisions have to have a cluster mailbox. It makes sense that way the postman just goes to the box and deliver all the mail and the people come and pick it up it saves fuel But there should be exclusions in there because I'm one house one they have to drive by it every day to directions when they're delivering mail to other houses that were put in for the law, but this uneducated woman said no not once, but twice, even though I had all the evidence proving that the address was made available to her post office, three years prior to the law changed! So to activate my house address I have to spend out of pocket funds for the cluster mailbox they cost $2,700 on low end just outside of town the other 7 plots on my street are nature and for sale by owner & he isn't building any more houses It's not a neighborhood because the streets only connect from the highway one way in one way out. She tried to say that it was a subdivision, wrong again you have to have a Home Division before you could have a subdivision so her lack of education and experience is being shown once again! These are the uneducated people, United States Post Pffice likes to hire and that's why they're always in US Congressional Hearings making excuses for All the stupid rules and decisions they come up with. I literally think They get together for a group function and play a game of polish darts vs playing polish archery it's safer and that decides how they waste taxpayers dollars! This truly is just another leaching Government Agency for your annual taxes should be called "anal taxes for dealing with these assholes!" Are used to believe in being nice and respectful, but after dealing with this group of idiots out of Augusta, I'm retired and they don't deserve my respect they are ran by machine and operated by brainless minions and Peons and I can't tell you who the woman I talk to which one she is but I really won't be volunteer or gift any of my tax dollars, especially if she refuses too do the one thing the USPS Government Organization is Designed to do, deliver my mail!

I haven't been in here in about three years or so, and that was when I first got my Georgia driver's license (purely because my home state license expired, and I could not renew it online). This DDS is usually VERY crowded, and quite noisy as well. The way they do their system is kind of funky, and a little annoying, but if you can skate through on a weekday during everyone's normal working hours, you shouldn't be in there too long. I went a couple weeks ago on a Friday afternoon to get an endorsement added to my license, and it was fairly painless for the most part. The employees are definitely hit or miss, sometimes you get a super nice one and sometimes you get a... not so nice one. Either way, I make it a point to not go to this DDS, but it was the closest one to where I was at the moment, so I just decided to stop there.

I have had to visit this location on Mike Padgett Highway several times this year. When Nicole wrote her review I would agree with her. However they have added someone who asks while you wait in line "Why you are here?". This addition is incredibly valuable. In the past I have watched people wait in line only to be told they are not even in the right office or being told they need a document they don't have with them after waiting 1-2 hours. Since adding this person service has become highly valuable. Things stay moving even when fully loaded. Customers are much happier knowing their wait has been minimized even before they get to the counter. Also that person can direct customers to online features they can use while waiting in line. They have even added two computers terminals for this process and often people just start helping each other. So even that 80-90 year old grandma or grandpa can be assisted in a way that gets them through with a kind of speed I have never witnessed before. I used an online feature before coming in, that's right from home, got a number, sat down and was called in 5 minutes and helped in about 2 minutes. If they maintain this level of service I will raise the rating from a 4 star to a 5 star.

This historical marker stands in front of the large and imposing St. Paul's Church in Augusta along…read morethe Savannah River. The church is amazing and deserves a special visit but this marker points out the history of the site, which dates back to the pre-Revolutionary times. The marker is in excellent condition and the very small text reads, "This site selected by fur traders Kennedy O'Brien and Roger de Lacy as a trading post to be nearer the Indians than Savannah Town, (in present Beech Island). To protect them and others, General Oglethorpe in 1735 built here Fort Augusta (so named after a royal Princess), maintaining a garrison until 1767. Here he met chiefs of the Chickasaws and Cherokees in 1739 to pacify them after a smallpox epidemic. In 1750, there was built the first St. Paul's Church "under the curtain of the fort." In 1763, chiefs of the Cherokees, Creeks, Catawbas, Chickasaws and Choctaws met here with governors of Georgia, North and South Carolina and Virginia and the King's representative and signed a treaty of peace. Again, in 1773, Cherokees and Creeks here ceded two million acres in North Georgia. During the Revolution, the British on this spot erected Fort Cornwallis, which was captured by the Americans by surprise September 14, 1780, but soon abandoned to the British.
