I signed up for a basic drywall service (needed a wall and ceiling demoed and replaced with new drywall) and a re-mud of an existing kitchen. I demoed half of the bad wall myself (ancient lathe and plaster) which saved him time...yet instead of demoing the rest he used a puzzle piece of small pieces of drywall stacked around the rest of the plaster that needed to be removed - if I hadn't seen it he might have mudded right over the top of it. In addition, his 'professional staff' do not exist. The guy he hired to assist he got off of Craiglist and didn't supervise him. They did not put down tarps, they did not remove light plates or anything else but instead drywalled around things that should have been removed first so now I still have holes I need fixed - and I ended up with mud on my existing cabinets, my molding, and spilled on my hardwood bedroom floor which made no sense since there was no work being done there. Speaking of molding, I asked them from the very beginning to remove the existing baseboards (original redwood matching throughout the house, can NOT be replaced) and save those for me to put back. He told me after the fact that it wasn't possible, they broke and splintered them to get them out. I knew it WAS possible since I had done it in a different room, it takes patience and a little time. But those are now gone, well they left them lying in my backyard NAILS UP for my dog to injure herself on. Lastly, after the work was done and he left me a huge mess to clean up, my dog got VERY sick, I almost had to take her to the emergency room. Then I found the big patch of grass in my backyard they had dumped either joint compound mix or something on, and just left it there. I guess my dog got into it...so if you want an incompetent job done that destroys things in your home and may injure yourself and your loved ones, hire this guy!!

Once they got started, that ease of communication continued. Jeff, Terrance, and Pete, were all very sure to make sure that we got the fence that we wanted with all the details we desired. They were also good at coming up with better versions of ideas we had that were more cost-effective and looked better. Our finished product is beautiful, and we really like how much better it makes our property look. We really feel that we got the fence we wanted out of this project. Instead of just showing up and building a fence, Hadley Construction made sure we got _the_ fence, and we're very happy for that.

Because our neighbor's insurance policy covered the cost of the repair, we had a choice of contractors - either the more reknown company or our choice; I'm so glad we chose Hadley. Jeff is a rarity; he's honest, he's timely, a good communicator (even sending pics of the work that was done), responsible, cost efficient and a good qualified contractor. He came out on a weekend to provide the quote, gave a timeline to get the work done, and despite wet weather interfering with paint and mudding drying time, got the job on schedule. Our place was left clean, and we were left with very positive impression of Hadley Construction. When we have future work to be done, I know that we'll be calling Hadley Construction.

I will be honest, we picked Chris because of the photos on his Instagram and because we liked him when he came to give us an estimate. I have to trust someone who is going to be in our home for an extended period of time, and Chris is very trustworthy. But enough about that.... his work! Oh. My. Goodness. First of all, Chris is so easy to work with. He communicates often and well without being overbearing. Chris helped us figure out what we wanted. We were really only going to add shelves and cabinets in my office, but while he was here for the estimate, we had him measure our dining room, master bedroom, and a niche in the hallway for built-ins. He drew up sketches and we tweaked them about 4 or 5 times. The designs were so good that we decided to bite the bullet and go for all five built-ins (a bar, a buffet, a wall unit in our master bedroom, and 2 units in my office). The quality, in my humble opinion, is outstanding -- solid wood construction, dovetail joints, full-height back panels, soft-close drawers AND cabinet doors, smooth and strong drawer glides. And the painters did an amazing job. The finish is so smooth! The price tag was a nice chunk of money for us (we do not have loads of disposable income). But looking at the work that was done, the amount we paid is very reasonable. I can honestly say it was worth every single penny. The indication of a good decision is that you would do it all over again, and we definitely would. As a matter of fact, we will probably have Shoreline rip out our kitchen (which is only 3 years old as our home is new construction) and go to town with new WELL-MADE cabinets and pantry. Our remodel did take awhile to complete, however well worth the wait! Actually because it took longer than I thought I was able to make my decisions & even changes as the project was going along.
