Honestly I have been here twice for MRI's and I never had any complaints!!! It's usually is not that busy but today was and it was still fast service!!! They take care of you while getting your MRI and throughout the process check to make sure you're ok and how much time left. They have brand new machines and the one I was in today was open MRI. Either one is fine with me though. But if you want a better experience and if your claustrophobic, I recommend coming here for that as well. They have a decent size lobby that you can wait in. I've had to visit United Medical Imaging twice in the span of a few months and had nothing but good experiences. Once for an x-ray and the other for an MRI... FYI. X-rays are on walk-in basis only while MRIs require an appointment to be made. Both times, I did not have to wait too long. You check-in at the window, they ask you to have a seat, you fill out some paperwork, they copy your ID and insurance info. Then, you go into a separate waiting area inside a hallway past the initial waiting room before you are seen. The front office staff was always friendly the times I went. The imaging staff inside was very informative and also nice. I had never had an x-ray or MRI before so I appreciated the step by step explanations on both my visits. I was told what to expect, how long each scan would take and what to expect time-frame wise once the scans are done & results sent to my doctor. Free parking in their private lot... The only thing I would say that they need to improve on is that the facility/building is a little dated. It could definitely use a refresh, especially inside. The waiting rooms and restrooms, specifically. Also, there were a lot of discarded coffee and drink cups out front on the benches. It was first thing in the morning so who knows if that was left there overnight but it wasnt the best first impression. read more

My boyfriend went in for a knee X-ray. The actual scan took less than a minute, but he ended up waiting over two hours before being called back. When he asked the front desk for an update, the staff simply told him to sit down without giving any explanation. The issue wasn't just the long wait -- it was the lack of communication. If there were urgent cases ahead of him, that's understandable, but no one explained what was happening or even gave an estimated wait time. It felt dismissive, especially since he was in real pain. Patients deserve at least some clarity and respect while waiting. read more

I had called to make an appt. and was told there were no appointments, just come in, so I did. On arriving, the receptionist surprised me with the news that I was too late to get a simple x-ray because it was a few minutes after 4:30 p.m., the time the tech leaves. So I spent over an hour going to and from there, and now get to go again. I suggested to the receptionist that when people call in and are told to just come in, it would be helpful to tell them the hours, to come in before 4:30. She said she'd pass on the suggestion. Hopefully management will get the suggestion from her and here too and kindly implement it. Note: This Yelp page wrongly states the hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. So if you are considering using this provider, you might want to call in advance and confirm the hours they're open. read more

This scheduling system is unacceptable. My husbands appointment was at 7:30 a.m., yet IHe was not taken in for the scan until 9:30. The office staff provided no updates during the delay, and most of the technicians did not begin arriving until around 8:00 a.m. This is extremely unprofessional. read more

I was concerned when I saw some of one star reviews here, but I had a great experience today. My appointment time was 1:30pm, I was announced to arrive 30 min earlier and I arrived 45 min earlier. I waited for almost 45 min but I was called a bit before 1:30pm, which I was so glad! The doctor was very considerate and thoughtful about my mental / physical safety, I felt very comfortable during the ultrasound examination. I truly appreciate their professionalism! read more

During my early elementary school years; I used to be jealous of classmates who broke bones and came to school in casts. They always seemed so 'cool' and received lots of attention (the same could be said about braces - it was very trendy among the girls). In fact, I wanted a cast so badly that I once wrapped plaster tape around my arm pretending it was legit (I didn't fool anyone). As an adult several decades later; I don't have to fake anything because I suffer from a multitude of health issues including a rare, fatal illness. My life consists of labs, testing, doctors, and specialists. Plus, MRIs, ultrasounds and x-rays. My rheumatologist was requesting x-rays of my feet/ankles and knees and my California Medi-Cal insurance authorized United Medical Imaging (Glendale location) to get the job done. United Medical Imaging is a sort of 'chain' imaging center with several locations throughout the Los Angeles metropolitan area. I was being sent to the Glendale location on S. Central Ave near the major intersection of Central/Colorado smack adjacent to the Glendale Galleria and Americana. I initially called to make the appointment for my x-rays and found that the receptionist wasn't answering the phone during posted open hours. And I'm not talking she was too busy to answer; but rather that the line automatically went to a voicemail declaring that UMI was closed. It seemed that the phones weren't even turned on. When I finally got through, I learned that UMI of Glendale does NOT take appointments for x-rays and only MRIs. What?! That is super odd. Essentially it is first come, first serve so you run the risk of waiting for quite some time. I was not a happy camper about this notion. I decided to go to UMI on a Friday in the late afternoon (they are closed Sat and Sun) figuring that the staff would be in a hurry to leave so perhaps I wouldn't have as long of a wait. I arrived to a nicely-landscaped building with a (free) side and back parking lot and a modern, architecturally pretty lobby with high ceilings, wood trim, fake stone accents, etc; looking almost spa-like. There were several patients already waiting and a constant flux in-and-out the door but check-in was quite easy and they had no issues finding my authorization in their system.  Several reviews complain about the front desk girls and it depends on whom you deal with: one girl was indeed curt and snotty but the other I mostly spoke to was friendly and conservational. Now, here is where the weirdness begins: I came prepared with a book, water and snack figuring I would have to wait forever in the x-ray queue. My later afternoon arrival time plan worked (I suggest this attack method if you need x-rays!) and I only had to wait about 40 minutes. I say 'only' because I expected longer, to be honest. But this place is like a hospital ER triage. Once you are called from the main lobby; you then have to wait further on chairs in the back hallway. So, basically you're sent from one waiting area to another. Plus, you're waiting outside the MRI and x-ray rooms and can hear everything - very little privacy. It is all very uncomfortable. The back area and exam rooms don't reflect the 'pretty' lobby and are a bit shabby. The machines are outdated, the lighting is very harsh, ceiling tiles had water leak stains and the ladies room bathroom stall had an entire black, melted plastic panel underneath a metal grate/vent (see posted photo) which doesn't seem applicable in a medical facility (why hasn't this been replaced?!). When I was called into the x-ray room, I was disappointed to see that it was equally grimy/dusty and the chair that I was instructed to place my belongings on was completely in shambles (a black pleather chair with the fabric ripped off in large chunks - ummm you can get a nice, new chair for $20 off Facebook Marketplace, for Christ's sakes!). The x-ray machine experience was an odd one as UMI has of those ones where you lay on your back on a thin, wooden folding table and the images are captured from above (I have never, ever used this method before). It was all very weird. The x-ray tech (younger, Armenian male) was efficient, though, and made sure to waste no time so that I was done with the x-rays quite quickly. In fact, I felt sort of kicked out! I asked the tech how many business days until my doctor receives the results, to which he replied, "A few business days". Obviously, his lack of clarification means he doesn't know. I should have asked the receptionist on my way out, but oh well. Hopefully, all is handled in timely-manner. There isn't much more to say regarding UMI, as it is a solid-middle ground experience. Pros include a nice lobby, free parking and x-ray experience that isn't dragged out. However, there are heavy cons of hit-or-miss staff, no appointments for x-rays, weird ER triage-style waiting and dirty, outdated exam rooms, ceilings and bathroom stalls that are half melted. They genuinely care about their patients and knowledgable at their craft. This establishment is very lucky to have them. The scheduler here is wonderful as is Julie at the front office. The technician Julie is rude, impolite, and refused to do my mri. She said that I have a pacemaker. No, I have a device connected to my i-phone to report fluttering, fast paced heartbeat,... Hill Imaging in Pasadena would never get away with being so unprofessional. Waste of time driving out here to only be turned away rudely. My right foot is killing me and I can't get images. read more

This location is very unprofessional and the front staff is very argumentative and unhelpful. I scheduled an appointment, confirmed with them that they received the referral only to arrive to be told they don't have anything and on top of it they are the ones upset but I'm going by what their customer service - staff said on the phone. Went in there did a chest X-ray and I asked what about my Back/Ribs, Adam said there is nothing for the back, and I agreed. next day my doc got the result and she told me what about your Back/ribs, I said that's what they did for me . Went back again next day same Adam guy said we couldn't read your doc handwriting, hmmm, why didn't you call the doc Adam? waited 5 days called back again, the lady at the front told me you never came in , you canceled your app. "Really" ??? was I dreaming??? For X-ray we don't get an appointment , it's a walk in.. long story short, they found my X-ray I just hope that's mine and not somebody else's. btw my wife advised me not to go there from the start. I would definitely recommend this place! The guy who did my imaging was really nice and understanding! Unfortunately, I was too nervous to try and ask for his name. My MRI took an hour laying on my belly and he helped me get really comfortable and offered more cushions and alternative positioning to help me get comfortable. He walked me through the steps and gave me little reminders of how many more minutes left. The sound of the MRI machine was really loud and he offered me to try the head covers on top of my earplugs which helped. Overall, I'm so glad my imaging got rescheduled and moved to this location!! read more

I arrived 20 minutes before my appointment. The technician was late coming in, so my appointment was 50 minutes late. These things happen, ok. Their seating are rows of uncomfortable chairs outside of bathrooms in a narrow hallway, gross. I was then informed that b/c I was refusing the contrast injection and it was a handwritten doctor order for both contrast and non, that even if I paid cash they would not be able to do the CT scan without a new handwritten doctor order. I had already fasted for this, took time off of work, woke up at 6:30 to drink 900mL of barium sulfate, for null. Unbelievable, unacceptable outcome, and a complete waste of my time. I do not recommend this facility, and I will tell my gastro doctor to stop sending his patients there, as well. read more

Please look at all the negative reviews before making your appointment. This is one of the lowest rated imaging centers in this area. This facility has unprofessional staff who do not care about patient care and quality of work. The clinic/center itself is extremely dirty and not a comfortable environment. WHY IS EVERYONE SO CRANKY IN THE REVIEWS! :( literally this place is so great! Easy paperwork, clean front office area everyone is nice and I was in and out in 20 minutes. The Xrays I had were for a walk in and my Xrays were SO FAST. So happy I came here and no where else, please give it a chance. If you have a walk in case, recommend to come early when they open, that's what I did. Maybe these other people tried coming really late or maybe a machine was down but that's just my assumption. I had a mammogram there twice in one month, with the same technician. She was rude, did not care that she was hurting me, was inconsiderate and simply unprofessional. I have been to other facilities, and had no pain, and was treated with care and respect. In addition, she was coughing and sneezing all the time. You are dealing with patients, so make sure you don't get them sick. Will never return to this place. read more

Worst service I have ever had. Rubina is one of the most unprofessional office aides I have ever encountered. Walked in to their office for a 12:15p appointment with zero order or signage in place. I saw a form that says sign in here.. I attempt to sign in to then be yelled at about my need to go to the right side of the room and not cut in front of anyone already in the office (I was getting out of their way) which had nearly 10 ppl bunched together. I explained this is not the time to be together during Covid. I am not getting sick because of their lack of organization. Don't waste your time with this place, unprofessional at every level! If you are not the right race it seems you will be asked to go outside until your temperature is taken. And I am by NO MEANS RACIST!! Funny how she emphasized the need for me to go outside yet the people that walked in after me never had their temperature taken nor were they hart added or yelled at like I was. Again same nationality as her. ‍ And Rubina... one of your own race came out to tell me how rude you were to me and how sorry she was for YOUR behavior towards me. I'm not racist and know what I am saying may come off as I am sensitive, NOT AT ALL., but you do not belong assisting people if you do not have the skills to be human and speak to people with respect and decency. The worst imaging center in the entire Southern California. Extremely unorganized. I presented to this facility for an MRI and they collected $100 copayment. Later I received a statement for $38 for a co-pay so I called them and informed them that I had already paid extra for my co-pay. So they're supposed to pay me back. I have called multiple times and spoken to multiple people at billing department, including someone called Kelly, which is extremely unorganized and does not know how to take care of this. I'm waiting for to send my bill to collections so I can sue this company. I have called multiple times and have not gotten anywhere. This is a fraud. read more

These negative reviewsi surprise me. I used to go to UMI on Wilshire and there you will definitely wait an hour. And it's ghetto as can be. I didn't realize Glendale had a UMI so I started going there about 2 years ago. Amazing service. I have never waited over 10 minutes. Everybody is extremely kind to me and efficient. I've never had problems with techs. Sometimes people need to check their attitude that will push the buttons of the staff. Maybe you're not such a nice person yourself. This is one of the best UMI I have ever been to. Here's a tip wear clothes that are easier to change So you don't waste their time. this company is great, I desperately needed somebody today to do an MRI of my back as my I believe sciatic nerve went crazy and I could hardly walk. I spent all morning and part of the day yesterday trying to find somebody to do an MRI and everybody was two weeks three weeks out, Glendale had a cancellation and I was able to get over there and not only did they do the one MRI of my spine but I needed a second one on my hip they squeezed me in, One of the girls that worked at the front counter was schedule to get an MRI right after mine, she was so wonderfully gracious to give me her spot to get the second needed MRI completed. The technician Soheila was the best in taking care of my scans. Great facility very well run if I ever need another MRI that'll be the place to go to. today in 9-8-23. thank you. Jim read more

I was scheduled to go to this facility for a CT scan today. I arrived on time, and I was told to fill up some paperwork and wait. I waited about 20 minutes and was called. When I got to the back of the place, I was told to change my clothes into a gown and go to the imagined room. While I was changing my clothes, the technician kept knocking on the door, telling me to hurry up because he was behind. I told him I would be out in a couple of minutes but continue knocking on the door. When I came out, I went to the imagined room, and the technician was rude again saying don't do this and that. Very unprofessional and rude. I don't recommend this place. Find another place to go, or you will regret it. read more

How is this place still open is mind boggling to me!!! Do the owners of the establishment not care about their business, because it sure looks like it. All the reviews are about their incompetent front desk workers. Never in my life have I met people working in the medical field that are this unprofessional, have absolutely zero customer service skills and speak with patients with so much attitude. Amazing experience, such friendly staff. Very clean and organized, I received a call prior to my appointment to informed me about my co-insurance and then they also called me same day to see if I wanted to go in half hour early. I'll had many health complications so i was very nervous when my neurologist told me that they do not give anesthesia due to always getting it for all my MRI. I also informed the lady's and with a smile they reassured me they will keep an eye out in case I cud not handle it. My dr prescribed me Xanax so I took it half hour before and OMG it did the trick. Anyway they had the CD ready when I got out of the MRI and gave it to my husband. I am beyond pleased with the work they did while serving me and my paranoia. Maria made sure I was comfortable and comfort me during the MRI. Also, take you for the cookies my husband enjoyed a few. read more

Came in for an ultrasound. I was told by the receptionist at the front desk that my insurance required a special authorization. Called my doctor, she said that was incorrect. My doctors office and I went back and forth with the front desk staff for over 30 minutes trying to clear it up. The front desk woman got irritated, wasn't communicating and stuck to me needing an authorization. My doctors office had to escalate to a supervisor who realized it was a mistake. They left my doctors office on hold and came and got me for my ultrasound. Meanwhile, I showed up with a full bladder making the experience even worse. The next day they called and said they forgot to have me fill out paperwork and asked if I could come back. The office seems really disorganized and wasn't very friendly. Do not recommend. read more

I went to this place for a Chest Xray. Which was supposed to be urgent. First I go in, they make me wait for an hour. After an hour I go in and they do my X-ray. In the afternoon my do tor's office calls and says the radiology center told them I never went In and my results won't be ready. I get that they can be busy, but they should keep track of their patients and do things in a timely manner. read more
