This United Airlines was located at the Buffalo Niagara airport. The United staff were super friendly and helpful. We talked about the weather in Phoenix and they laughed about the heat since it is diversely different in Buffalo. We got all checked in with no issues. read more

United Airlines used to be a good airlines to fly but it's in the toilet now. This was our big trip for the year so we decided to fly First Class. It wasn't worth the extra money. It used to be that in First Class you would get a certain amount of pampering and respect from the flight attendant along with some special amenities. Boy is that not true anymore. On the first leg, the flight attendants were not friendly at all. I ordered a Bloody Mary but they didn't have the right mixer. I had to drink it with discusting flavorlee tomato juice, YUCK. Then they informed all of the First Class passengers that they had NO SNACKS to offer us. The second leg was just as bad. Again the flight attendants were not only unfriendly but screwed up my PRE-ORDERED meal. They apparently only had one with my name on it and they just gave it to another passenger. I purposely ordered it whay before the flight. Why do they even bother having PRE-ORDER if they don't even give it to the First Class passenger that orders it. Our return flights were just as bad. When it game time for our PRE-ORDERED meals, I felt it necessary to tell the flight attendant to not give my meal to someone else. A lot of good that did, i suddenly overheard the incompetent flight attendant offering my wifes PRE-ORDERED meal to someone else. I immediately told them to stop trying to give away my wife's PRE-ORDERED meal. He gave me a nasty look and bad service the rest of the 4 hour flight. We could have paid half the price for Economy Plus, with extra legroom and bought McDonald's before we boarded the flights. If you have a choice, don't fly United Airlines. As a final note, the best part of the flights was the coffee in the airport. read more

Flying from Buffalo to Poland via Chicago doesn't seem like a good idea. I agree, going west made an already long trip longer, but I try to avoid JFK at all costs. The combination of United Airlines, Austrian Airlines and Lufthansa was promising. Believe me, I made a good decision. My last flight to Europe and back home was extremely smooth and pleasant. Most importantly, the service I experienced was truly professional. Even being just an economy passenger, I felt safe and well taken care of. The United B787-10 Dreamliner was a smooth overseas flight. I enjoyed a complimentary horrible red wine and my choice of chicken meal. The butter chicken from Rajbhog Food was actually very good. I also watched the first of three films, "The Equalizer" with Denzel Washington. This was a time when none of my streaming media had this movie, and I had already seen the rest of the trilogy. Fun! On the way back, my connection from Chicago to Buffalo was on United Express. The window I was sitting at had a cracked frame. That's probably why the screen was blocked. Luckily I arrived home safely and on time. read more

FREQUENT FLYER ALERT - "COMMUTAIR DBA UNITED EXPRESS" is undergoing flight attendant training, so regardless of your status they will bump you to an alternative seat to accommodate their employees at will. I've never considered myself to be a reactionary person, so I did count to ten prior to writing this review of United Airlines in particularly "COMMUTAIR DBA UNITED EXPRESS" flight number UA 4855 from Buffalo, NY to Washington Dullies on 10/27/16 Prior to boarding this flight I was alerted via the United App that this flight would be delayed 30 minutes due to late in-bound aircraft, after looking at my connection it didn't seem to present any immediate concerns and since this isn't anything unusual for United Airlines since the merger, I discounted this frequent event to the airlines doing business as normal now days. As the in-bound aircraft approached the jetway I was summoned to the podium in front of the gate and informed that my assigned seating that I chose at the time of purchase 1A was going to be reassigned and my new seat would be 7A to accommodate a new employee in training since that person being trained did not have enough hours to occupy the jump seat in the cockpit. I questioned the practice of bumping loyal customers for airline employees and was told by the senior flight attendant on this flight that "I better get used to it since they have just hired an additional 35 flight attendants and this practice would continue going forward" I politely called BS - and they offered me a fifty dollar voucher which I declined. The United gate personnel told me that they have no control over their contractor's policies but they would look into it. Please know that I will kindly give up my seat for the elderly, children traveling alone, military personnel, etc. but this is the most disrespectful ridiculous practice I've seen to-date. It seems they could have blocked these seats prior to selling out the flight and been totally transparent. I am a loyal customer with thousands of flights, so this is not some pretentious infrequent flyer with an ego or a "greater than thou" attitude. I just feel the situation could have been handled in a much more professional way and have gotten a more positive result. United you are really forcing me to question my loyalty when you pull this kind of crap... read more

This morning I was supposed to leave at six a.m. But arrived here a little after five and the lady at the counter told me that I was late, so she'd have to rebook me. She was pleasant, efficient and very helpful. She let me rearrange my checked luggage so that I would not have to pay 125- for being four pounds over. She rebooked my flights so that I still would make a connecting flight. Very nice lady. We shall see if the air crew is as pleasant, soon. read more

***United service out of Buffalo is quick and friendly compared to other United terminals throughout the U.S.; the boarding process was smooth; United flies mostly small regional jets here though there was a big plane that goes to O'Hare; you will have to make a connection in order to get to most U.S. cities from this airport*** I imagine parking here is expensive like other major U.S. airports. read more

Bad experience....we're generally not fussy about flying, but they changed our itinerary the day after booking, then changed it again last minute! We have 3 boys & they separated our chosen seats/family on us as well, so it's not easy to supervise your kids that way. The flight attendents spent most the flight going up & down aisles with garbage bags, then acted annoyed if others asked for help or couldn't reach luggage, etc. It seems there is no service anymore. We had layovers, so it was 4 United flights. That's more than enough experience to know never again! read more

I booked my ticket with United Airlines on Jan. 29, for Toronto. My flight has a lay over from SNA airport to O'Hare, Chicago then to Toronto Pearson airport. We landed on time, but when I was waiting for my luggage it didn't come out of the conveyor. I was told by the representative that it was still in Chicago and I will not get it till the next day. It is now the next day and I call the 800 number but still no update and they are still searching for it. I have my work laptop that I need, but unfortunately I can't do any work. In short I'm SOL!!! I haven't gotten any calls. Is this how United treat their loyal customer? How can I explain to my boss that I can't work since United Airlines screwed up?! This is RIDICULOUS! Up to now I'm still wearing my clothes from yesterday. I can't even go out, since my winter clothes and jacket are in the luggage. I will post about this on all my media and will spread the news to all my family and friends, so it doesn't happen to them and that they will not use United Airlines. If there's a negative star to rate you, I would. read more

Once again. As much as I try never to use united. I had to. Buffalo to dc. Flight scheduled to leave at 725. I got to the gate at 710 and the door was already closed. 20 minutes before takeoff! I found someone to help and told the plane agent that I was at the gate. They opened the door and when they scanned my boarding pass it showed that I had already boarded. So they told me to board. Then the flight attendee told on board screamed at me. @there are jo seats. I told her already! Then she screamed at me again when I asked how this could happen. Confusion ensued and they had to ask a traveler who was in my seat to get off the plane. How does this happen. Oh. No apologies offered read more

WORST AIRLINE EVER!! If I could give it deep stars I would!! They are inconsiderate of people's time! My flights have been delayed MULTIPLE times! It's always the same excuse "their staff needs mandatory rest!" Not even due to to bad weather or technical problems but bc of their staff?!?! Guess what!! Get more staff or plan accordingly. We have places to go! Garbage of an airline company!! I'm surprised they are still in business. My bf who is a physician has lost thousands of dollars from missing speaking at events! I have missed work several times and we both have had to pay more to book on another RELIABLE airline to get to where we need to plus transportation! UNACCEPTABLE!! NEVER AGAIN!! DO NOT FLY WITH THEM! It will cost you thousands more bc they are so unreliable!!! read more

United Airline's seats are the smallest, their services horrible and expensive, their personnel rude. THE WORST airline! They charge for every little thing and if you bring carry-on, they may decide you have to check your bag at the last moment and charge you $35 for that. read more

Horrendous experience on June 10, I was placed on an earlier flight with my fiance and the person at the front desk made a mistake and double booked my seat. I was asked to leave, and when I got off, the flight took off. My fiance came off the plane as well, but my belongings were still on board. They have yet to be found. I was apologized to profusely by the attendant and was given a $10 voucher for my trouble. She promised my items would be back when I returned to Newark and when I got to Newark, nothing was there. That was about $500 worth of tech that is now gone. United told me if they can't find it, then they are not responsible. The person at the gate told me it was their fault and I have nothing to show for it now. Extremely disappointed by their horrible customer service and lack of empathy to passengers. Ridiculous. read more

We submitted a formal complaint on United's website 2 weeks after our travel date because we were SURE someone would reach out and apologize for the WORST travel experience in our lives. We were supposed to arrive in SFO at 11:00 after a connection in ORD. We had 5 appointments lined up to view places to live so we didn't have to get a hotel room. We originally boarded the plane at 6:25, and sat on the runway until 8:00 when we were deboarded because the battery in the plane was dead. We were the last row on the airplane, so therefore the last in line at customer service. We stood waiting in line for an hour and a half and finally spoke with the most rude agent we have ever spoken to in any industry. My wife called her mother who works for Air Canada and she found a plane we could get on (that still had seats open) that would have taken us directly to SFO. According to the Star Alliance network, this is completely above board and is covered by the alliance. We still would have made our appointments. The customer service agent would not put us on the Air Canada flight, and she would not change our flight time from ORD to SFO to the later flight because she told us we still had an opportunity to make the flight that was departing FROM ORD which was 10 minutes from the time we were speaking with her. Her excuse was that all of our bags were on the plane. So we reboard the plane at 10:00. The pilot came on and mentioned we were going to have to de-ice for 30 minutes. After that 30 minute wait, we had to wait for the bags to be put BACK ON the plane! This was the reason we were not able to switch in the first place! Finally take off at 11:38, 5 hours late. Wait for 25 minutes to speak with customer service agent in ORD, who told us we missed the connecting flight by 10 minutes. Definitely could have made that flight if the CS agent in YYZ changed our flights. Flight from ORD to SFO was delayed 35 min, tried to speak with the gate agent and she was more interested in flirting with the pilots than helping. An extra $545 in hotels and 7 hrs late due to the lack of competency in United Airlines staff. I have flown a LOT of miles and this was WORST. read more

I am extremely disappointed in united. They have a total lack of customer service and will not try to remedy errors made by their company. During my ordeal with the company, I was constantly notified via email, text and phone call about delays and cancellations. On the way to San Antonio, my flight was delayed, even after they changed my flight, which meant I didnt get much sleep last night. I decided to forgive and forget. My flight back home was a nightmare. My flights kept getting delayed/cancelled so i asked the agents at the counter to change me to a morning flight, even though it meant I'd miss an important appointment. The agents were rude and unhelpful. I was scheduled for an early morning flight that was then cancelled without any notification. When I went to again change my flight, they rescheduled me to a flight that was known to be delayed and i ended up missing my connection. I ended up getting home almost 24 hours later and United made no effort to rectify the isssue. At the end I was emotionally spent and glad to be home. United (and American) have the worst customer service. I will not be flying with United ever again. The little money you save is NOT worth the hassle read more

Overbooked is united's business model. It's called the 'screw you' approach to business. I travel weekly. I have to have no other option to fly United. Each time I do I am stunned at how poorly run this business is. Choose any other airline. #unitedsucks read more

Our full flight was cancelled and it was blamed on the air traffic controllers but United then chooses which flights to book. The ticket agent said Newark has closed runways so not to fly through there. Why is United flying through Newark knowing some flights might be cancelled? My sister spent 9 hours at the airport due to United delays yesterday. We'll never fly United again. Most bumped passengers had to spend the night in the airport with no hotel voucher. We don't want to repeat this awful experience! read more

One of the worst airlines I have encountered! I wish the rating went into the negatives - United does not deserve 1 star. My son flew out of Pearson in TO. He will be living in Japan for 7 months, studying abroad. It is difficult to keep baggage weight under 50 lbs. United baggage overage is ROBBERY! We were charged $400 CDN for a 53 lb and 56.5 lb suitcase. Company policy is what I was told. Of course I checked into this before flying, but was hoping there would be a kind heart in Cust Serv. There should be a law for a cap on overweight luggage. The woman at the baggage claim suggested we "could take some things out the he doesn't need.! REALLY!!! I'm mad as hell about this. To top it off, my son told me it was not a pleasant flying experience to San Fran. The crew was less than friendly and he did not get a snack or drink on the 6 hour flight!! United is an airline I WILL NEVER USE AGAIN! Flyer beware!! read more

I'd give it a zero if I could. It was the worst flying experience I have ever had. Our outgoing flight was cancelled for no apparent reason. I would like to add that we paid additional fee to have our flight scheduled earlier do to a tournament we had to attend. Our incoming flight was also cancelled three times we were on a stand by for two flights. An hour flight turned into 24 hours waiting at the airport. We had to rent a car and spend additional money. When we asked for our bags they said they put them on one of the flights. We still kept our cool. When we got to Buffalo, NY at 3:00 am, they would unlock the room to give us our bag. At this point my daughter was throwing up and I lost it. After my episode they sent some one down after waiting for three hours. It may seem cheaper when you are booking it but trust me it will end up costing you same as a first class ticket with a different airline. Shame on you United! Your customer service is horrible. read more

United is, without a doubt the WORST airline I have every flown on! Never have I dealt with such horrible customer service before, during and after travel! I don't know what is happening with United, but they seem to have forgotten what the root of customer service is-- the customer! I used to fly United internationally all the time-- I even had the United mi,eager credit card. As I had experienced their service deteriorating over the years, I cancelled the card and stopped flying United. Recently, due to a last minute need to travel, I had no choice but to fly United. My experience was exponentially worse than I remembered United being! Even worse? No one cares! United cares about profit, not people. Their customer service department would be more aptly named Customer Do Not Care rather than Customer Cares. As long as they get the sales, they do not care about how terrible your experience is, how inconvenience you are or how disrupted your life becomes due to their errors. The entire human element is gone when flying United. If it were possible to give them less than one star, I would. Save your money, the aggravation and yourself a headache-- fly ANY other airline! read more
