made an appointment with Tammy thru ClassPass. immediately was not impressed with the space and felt that it was very unkempt. was impressed that they make every client wash their hands before service. wasn't impressed with the mask wearing when i felt like people were coughing openly buttttt i didn't get sick, so maybe it was just a lingering cough when i was getting coughed on. i wasn't sure how to rate given everything but after waiting a week to see how the manicure held up, my gel manicure DID hold up. a little messy when i left but the gel fell off my skin fast enough. i did get a glitter gel polish so maybe those stick around nicer for longer but it looks good and isn't lifting early. sooooo all-in-all, i wouldn't go back based the unkempt look but if you don't care about looks, it's not the worst.

Update: after 4 days, my gel manicure started chipping on 2 fingers. I do higher quality gel manicures at home. This manicure didn't even last a whole week.

Great first experience! Called at 7:30 pm and they were able to take me for a late Monday night appointment. They didn't rush at all, and in fact, stayed past 10 pm! I loved how my nails turned out (shoutout to the lovely technician who suggested the red tips) and thoroughly enjoyed the leg scrub / massage that I received during my pedicure. Located in Irvine near John Wayne in the same center as Bare Waxing & Laser and Krisp Fresh Living.

Gorgeous nails by Lan!!! She stayed open late for me so I could have beautiful nails for my World Cup match tomorrow :)) she can do really anything and she was very patient and kind while I was fidgeting. Very good experience and great quality I am looking forward to making this my new salon

Gel builder nails with nude polish. Love !

Just got my gel builder nails (done by Lan) and gel pedicure (done by Mimi). They are truly so kind and amazing! I'm super happy with how my nails came out and I am super picky. They are kind, patient and detailed. Not rushed at all. Super good service. Would recommend 10/10! Right next to John Wayne airport and by lots of food. Super convenient location with lots of parking.

No no no. I should've known when I walked in that this wasn't going to be the most spectacular nail salon. Starting off, I had to find the gel colors myself and thankfully a nice customer getting her toes done already pointed to me where they were on a table. The color samples were in basket and there was so much crust on them that all the colors looked matte. There are small gnats flying around everyone in this salon. I killed at least ten of ten flying around my chair when I was there. I had existing gel that needed to be removed. She told me $6 extra for that. No worries because I saw that listed on classpass earlier. However, once she began, staff used the crustiest file bits from a tin that has clearly been used on PLENTY others before me. I'm going to go home right away to thoroughly clean my feet and hope I don't get any time of infection from the nasty tools here. The lady filed my skin around my toe nails multiple times with the drill bit. My skin around my toe nails were very apparently red after the filing & cuticle cut. Once she put alcohol on my toes I could feel all the micro cuts stinging. I had to sit through the rest of the appointment in silence, feeling itchy from all the gnats around I had to kill. The small bugs must be normal with the way the staff wasn't even flinching when one would fly in front of their faces. The polish I picked had some additive that made it so liquidy and it was dripping all over the towel, on her hands, on my skin. I kept hearing her whisper to herself that the "color was no good" but she never spoke up to ask me if I wanted to change the color. She would keep touching the gel after curing to check if it was done. Something is wrong with the gel polish. Application was so messy the lady said the color I picked was making her "tired" from the amount of clean up each toe was needing. She CURED improperly wiped up polish on my SKIN and then proceeded to try and SCRATCH it off with her nails. I'm sorry, what?? Then once she finished curing my top coat she went to file off loads of gel that made it onto my skin. Then she used acetone to off the gel that made it onto my skin where she couldn't file like down my big toe and the top of my ankles, this also amplified the sting from again, all the micro cuts on my skin from her original file. 5 minute foot massage w lotion at the end was the best part, but came with the growing anxiety of the quality of the job done. Actually so appalled by the lack of cleanliness here.

Can I give them a zero star? They left me unattended and without any explanation to attend to a new customer that walked in without appointment! She was being unresponsive to me and did not reply to me when I was telling her that I was done! Very bad overall hygiene. Considering that it's covid time, they used an unsterile nail clip on me !!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!!! UPDATE: I am very unappreciative of the response from the owner to my review and I sat down for 2 hours without saying a word!!! I don't appreciate twisting situations like that read more

I had walked into Unique Nails asking if they could do a spa pedicure and a nail Dip. after speaking amongst theirselves, one lady signals me to sit down as the spa chair. she filled the water and I put my feet in. she then pulled her nail cart and began on my toes. Another lady sat down with her car as if she was going to get started on my toes. the lady never did my toes, moved to another lady and started there instead. I asked for a certain shape and instead got something not good at all. I was burned twice with the electric nail file. the older lady didn't seem to care. they charged over $70 for a dip. Ive never paid that much for a dip, even at the luxury nice places I go to. very bad service, not friendly, not clean at all. do not recommend read more

THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE, dirty and gross. I was expecting more especially because of the location. Let's pray I do not get a fungus! Or anything worse. Well I walked in, asked if they could do acrylic nails / toes they said yes. I was asked to wash my hands. Then I'm standing there because there's no paper towels to dry my hands. Then finally they hand me paper towels. I go to sit down in the chair they set up for me. Mind you I'm the ONLY one there! I sit down and there's like that sugared gel stuff on the chair it gets all over my hands and my clothing. They are like what happened. I'm like you can't see the chair is dirty. Whatever. They start doing my nails. They didn't have a basic pink acrylic power for French tip. Just a nude one. They are doing my toes, I asked for the deluxe package. Did not removed my cuticles, not clean under the nails. The guy starts pulling the acrylic. The lady doing my manicure. Says it's an extra 6$ to cut my cuticles?! I tell her no. She starts drilling. And cuts my thumb. I'm bleeding, she has no gloves on and is using her fingers to stop the bleeding. I'm like WTF! Then gets alcohol and pours it on my bleeding finger. Mind you there's no ac! It's 85 degrees out. Whatever. At this point I'm like hurry up. I'm sitting looking around in this place for 2 hours not a single soul walks in?! The guy starts putting top coat on my toes and says it's going to be an extra 18?! I'm like wtf. I thought we discussed French tip. He goes back and adds French tip. Finally he gets done. I get up the lady that cuts me is using a dirty stained towel to wipe my clothes because I have dust all over me. I ask her to stop. Then she has the nerve to ask when I'll be back?! I go to pay. And it was 182$ for a basic acrylic nail , and toes? I asked for an itemized receipt, he can't give me one. I pay and walk out. THE LACK OF COMMON AWARENESS ON HOW YOU RUN YOUR BUSINESS IS ALARMING. This place needs to be shut down. read more

Tips: expect a wait.... 1) I made a 7pm appointment but wasn't started till 7:30.. I understand they're trying their best to get to everyone, even pass their closing time, they don't say no to ppl 2) they take their time on ur nails to make sure it's perfect. My pedicure came out perfect, I she took her time on my nails 3) I was worried about getting acrylic.. but terry did an amazing job!! He's soo good at what he does making sure the ombré was seamless!! I love my nAils! Will be coming back!! read more

Updated I called for an appointment I told them I had a ungrow nail and they tell me come at 8 here we can help you, I arrived 7:55 pm. Two people came after me, they were attended first. I do not understand...! that's racism. It's 8:46 pm and I tell a person there is someone to take care of me? They don't understand English... asks someone who speaks English for help. no one is available yet. Finally they attended me, at 8:50 pm, I tell the lady about the ungrow nail and she doesn't understand... The person who gave me the appointment comes and said they would help me, and now she says no...!! They make an appointment and don't take care of you. If they has something related Covid, why do they give appointments? The workers only speak their first language, they don't understand english That is why, I only give them one star...and one star is a lot for them. read more

Decided to treat myself to a gel mani and pedicure. I had Vivian for my hands and Lina for my toes. In and out in about an hour. I had to go back the next day for a touch-up because I tripped in the parking lot on my way out. They were kind enough to let me come back the next morning and get my big toe fixed! Really nice people. Really accommodating and communicative. One suggestion: Turn the fan to blow OUT the back door (instead of drawing air in as since smokers in the adjacent parking lot hang out there so you end up polluting the inside of your shop with second-hand smoke). Extremely bad service. I came in to have cut my nail shorter and paint with gel. The guy didn't seems to care about leaving them straight or even. He said they were as straight as they would be, that it was my previous nail place error, he just cut it and to his perspective they were straight (very gaslighting). He said the file tool was straight so he can only leave them as the file tool is, straight. I showed another customer and she agreed the edges were not straight at all. He gave me file stick telling me that he could not straighten them anymore than they were to straighten them myself, I did file a bit and saw improvement so decided to end the service at that point. He just wanted to paint them and be done, he asked that I pay $10 for the cut, so I did. I will never return there. I went to another salon and they actually made them even and straight without me having to tell them what was straight and what was not. read more

As a member of the LGBTQ+ , This was my first time getting my nails done. June is pride month and I wanted to get my nails done to celebrate. I called when they opened and I was quickly brought in with an appointment. I came in wanting a Gel manicure with a design and my nail tech Cindy made it possible for me. Cindy took her time with my design request and was so sweet. I felt so welcomed and comfortable the whole time there. This might be my go-to place now. read more

Lady that did my nails filed them so much that she left them so thin. She ruined my nails. I kept asking her to stop filing my nails and she kept saying to not worry. Gel nail polish lasted just a few days and started chipping off. I had never had such a terrible manicure. Don't go go to this place. They will ruin your nails. read more

I fix my nails here for the first time and the fill that Always take about 45 minute take me about 1 hour and 45 minutes so if ur time is not important to u go there ( the lady was so slow ) and my polish looks like that the 5 yeras old color my nail ‍ read more

It's currently 8:38, and my appointment was for 8pm. I'm still sitting by the door waiting to be serviced. Hoping to be able to get a full set, a gel pedi, and a kids mani pedi as well. I understand they stay open late and that's why I was so happy to book and get my appointment in. It's my first time here, hoping I'll have something great to say about the service. ---I'll update "IF" I get my full set completed. Updated at 8:58. Told them I'll be needing to cancel my appointment. I had 2 people turn to look at me but didn't speak. Priscilla did such an amazing job with my nails! She was gentle, very professional and friendly. I really appreciated that she took the time to perfect everything and not rush. Unfortunately after writing that I had to update my review to 4 because I went back 2 more times after and since Priscilla was on vacation I had to go with someone else. I don't remember what her name is but she was the oldest one there. She did not do a good job and I was very disappointed The acrylics weren't filled or filed well. She cut a couple of my fingers while drilling, the shape was crooked, spots were missing on the sides and bottom that should have been filled, she didn't clean under the nails, and the nails were bumpy due to them not being drilled down/buffed correctly. read more

Impressed! I got referred to Vicky by a friend after seeing how nice her nails were. In fact they looked so real I had to ask if they were acrylics. I've tried growing out my nails for years even going so far as to take vitamins and use cuticle oil everyday. It didn't work. My nails were still short and crappy. I finally called Vicky and scheduled an appointment for Saturday. I won't go into all the details of how carefully and meticulously Vicky did on my set but let's just say she took two hours to make sure my nails were perfect! Regular acrylic set $28, coffin shape $5, Gel Nail Polish $10, and glitter design $10. So my grand total came out to $53. It's more than I pay for my regular manicure but she is so worth it! I love my nails they look amazing and I'm definitely going back. Thanks Vicki! read more

I needed my nails done and it was already 7pm. I found unique nails close to work and Lan took me right in. She was very friendly and does beautiful work. After a long foot massage and a relaxing pedicure, Lan put the final touch on my nails. I have to keep them short so I can type. After seeing the final product I was so happy. This is my nail spot. The ladies there are always fun and entertaining... They do great nails for reasonable prices and have spa packages if you want to indulge. e.g. $10 for a ten mins of additional massage for arms or legs. It's a small place with the usual spa chairs and nail tables. A quirky decor with plenty of magazines. I believe they offer waxing as well. Tucked away in a little shopping center off of Michelson a few blocks before the airport. read more

I liked the set of nails I got. I requested she file them a lil more and they looked better after she did. I also paid for a pedicure and got the 10 min massage. Idk what that was but it definitely wasn't a massage. Which sucks because my feet were really hurting and would have benefited from a real massage not some soft touchint. read more

Rudest workers ever. I came to this nail salon and greeted the workers who didn't even look at me... after I said hello three times one worker looked at me and only said "do you have an appointment?". I said no and asked if I needed one and she said "you need to wait"... I asked what is the waiting time? And she murmured something in another language so I asked again what is the waiting time and nobody answered! I had to leave becuase I was completely ignored and treated so poorly. Learn how to treat customers! Rude! Message to business owner, after your message: I had to say hi three times and ask the same question twice... you didn't acknowledge me or answer my questions, please don't even try to tell me I was inpatient. Also, please do not use the excuse of people risking their lifes... if you have a worker who is high risk you should not make them go to work. I have been supporting small businesses since way before this pandemic. Yours is one I will not support until you learn basic customer service. Don't bother to message me again. Second update: Refusing to admit you made a mistake and calling a potential client "Karen", etc doesn't say much about you or your business, does it? I spent enough of my time and energy on you. DO NOT GO HERE. It hasn't even been a week and three tips of my acrylics chipped off exposing my natural nail and ruining it. I've been getting acrylic for over 10 years and I've never had this happen...I tried to pop back in to kindly asked for it to be fixed, but I waited 45 minutes (they were supposed to open at 9am) and nobody showed up to open the salon. read more

I LOVE THIS PLACE! The peak of professionalism and cleanliness. First off, the location is very convenient. It's right by the freeway and is also in a plaza with many food places. Definitely a young hangout place. I had two broken nails and they were able to cover them up with acrylics and made everything look natural and similar to my real nails. They gave me a wonderful pink and white ombre that was subtle but also GLAM with the diamonds!! The service was exceptional as well. The workers treated me kindly and were very friendly. Got SNS with Lisa! She took her time and made sure everything looked perfect before finishing. They have a large selection of colors for SNS which is a nice alternative to acrylic or gel because it keeps your nails looking healthier and strong. Lisa did a great job! The store is one of the only nail shops open past 7pm in the area! It's perfect for those who work late I'll be back again soon! read more

I had a rather perplexing experience at this nail salon on Tuesday, August 1st, around 6:30 pm, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts. I visited the salon with the hope of getting a nail fixed in preparation for an event coming up over the weekend. As I walked in, I noticed one customer already receiving service in one of the salon chairs. There were a few other associates seated in empty chairs, engrossed in their phones. The initial impression was a mix of activity and inactivity among the staff. I was approached by a gentleman named Tom, who appeared to be in charge. I explained that I needed a nail fixed, emphasizing that my original nail wasn't from their salon. Tom's response was unexpected - he informed me that no one would be available to help me. I inquired about the possibility of coming in later that evening before their supposed closing time of 9 pm (as per Google and their posted service hours). However, Tom reiterated that assistance wouldn't be available. This repeated response left me puzzled and questioning whether there was genuinely no availability or if there was another reason behind their inability to serve me. In an effort to understand the situation better, I asked if I could schedule an appointment for the following morning. Tom's reply was disheartening - he stated that they only accepted walk-ins. I inquired about their opening time in the morning, to which he replied, "9 am, but no one will be available to help you." This consistent dismissal led me to wonder whether there was some underlying issue or if they simply didn't want to provide service. As my confusion grew, I requested to see their service menu out of curiosity. Tom reluctantly showed me a paper menu, which had two options for nail fixes - one for work done by their salon and the other for work not done by them. I attempted to take a picture of the menu to have a record of the available options, but before I could even process his reaction, Tom quickly snatched the menu away and firmly stated that no one was allowed to take pictures of their menu. This left me perplexed once again - was it a policy that prevented anyone from taking pictures, or was it specifically me? Feeling increasingly frustrated and unfairly treated, I voiced my concerns to Tom, mentioning that I felt discriminated against. At that point, I made the decision not to proceed with their services. I asked for Tom's name, which he provided as 'Tom,' and I left the salon to return to my car. Strangely, my experience took an even more unprofessional turn - as I began to drive away, I noticed Tom running out of the salon with his phone in hand, recording me as I left. This unexpected behavior further heightened my sense of discomfort and confusion. In the end, my visit to the nail salon on that evening left me with more questions than answers. The lack of transparency, coupled with inconsistent explanations, left me feeling unwelcome and perplexed. The behavior displayed by Tom, particularly his recording of me as I left, was both strange and unprofessional. While I understand that misunderstandings can occur, I hope that the salon takes this experience as an opportunity to improve their communication, customer service, and overall professionalism for the benefit of future clients. read more

During our visit to the nail salon, my boyfriend and I were reassured of simultaneous service. Initially, it seemed well-organized, with my session starting immediately and a promise that another technician would attend to me shortly. Unfortunately, the promise fell flat as the technician opted to serve another client, leaving me in limbo. I sat, feet in now-cold water, for 40 excruciating minutes. To add insult to injury, a new client with an appointment arrived and was serviced promptly, without any acknowledgment of my prolonged wait or the inconvenience caused. This blatant disregard for my time and comfort showcased an appalling level of service and professionalism. The experience was more than just a service delay; it was a complete oversight and disrespect of a customer's basic expectations. What was supposed to be a relaxing, bonding activity turned into a session of frustration and disbelief. In the end, it wasn't just the water that turned cold but also our perception of the salon's commitment to customer care. I walked in for a acrylic refill with white tips in this horrible place, the lady who did my nail gave me a small cut on the side of my thumb, then proceeded to pour alcohol on it later. It BURNED. To me, getting cuts at a nail salon is a HUGE deal; my mom always warned me of how you can get diseases at nail salons. Then afterwards when she was shaping the white tips, she took maybe 5 tries on each finger because she kept messing up! And each time she messed up instead of wiping the polish off and redoing it, she'd put a new layer of polish over it and continue to mess up again. In the end, the polish was clumpy and mushy because of all the layers she had packed on my nails! And even after all that, the white tips were still shaped badly! I don't want to be harsh but if the old lady is unfit to do nails (she looked like she had a hard time trying to keep her hands from fidgeting and her eyesight was probably pretty poor), then don't let her do mine! This is in response to the Manager on my previous review. We both know that is complete lie. I didn't come in and demand anything from you. I'm a business owner myself and would never behave in such a manner and for a simple polish no less (for a 9 year old) . Let's be truthful and honest in our responses. As I previously suspected your denial of service seemed to be racially motivated and your false narrative of the events prove that to be true. You could very well have come on here, apologized and explained the situation. However you choose to falsely paint a picture of me that is completely opposite of my character. I didn't see your response earlier or I would have addressed this sooner. What you will not do is perpetuate a lie to cover your lack of professionalism. I love coming here! This is BY FAR the cleanest, most professional, and exceptional nail salon I have EVERRRRRRRRRRR been to! Lisa (the owner) makes sure you are comfortable and relaxed, her staff do an amazing job on whatever it is you're getting done; there's hot tea and usually a water upon your arrival--the works! I found this place here on Yelp because I was tired of the unsanitary, unprofessional salon I was frequenting, and i must say, you Yelpers saved me! I have seen the light! Lena, Lena, Lena, I can't sing her enough praises. She is an amazing nail tech. I flew in from Memphis to John Wayne. I searched Google for nail shops within walking distance of the airport, while I waited more than two hours for my cousin's flight to arrive. Unique Nails came up. I did not know what to expect, but did know I needed a pedicure BADLY! I got a notch up from the basic pedicure. Lena did a great job. I received one of the best pedicures I've ever had. Glad I found this place! I've tried other nail salons in my area, but this one has been my favorite! I've been getting my nails done with Lisa and I love her attention to detail. I've noticed that all the employees there really give great customer service. I enjoy my complimentary glass of wine, but you can also choose complimentary water or tea. They have a good selection of O P I and Morgan Taylor polishes and tons of gel colors. They gladly accept walk ins, but appointments are definitely recommended. I initially reached out via Instagram DM asking about Thursday or Friday availability for a hard gel manicure and pedicure with a detailed design (charms, individual art on each nail). I sent the inspiration photo in advance and specifically asked which service to book and how long it would take to ensure enough time was scheduled. I was told this type of design would be better suited for Monday at 2pm with a specific artist. Shortly after, they asked if I could instead come in earlier at 10am on Monday, and I said yes Before confirming, I asked how long the design would take. I was told approximately 2.5 hours max with the design. The morning of my appointment, I let them know I was running about 10 minutes late. When I arrived and showed the exact same inspo photo that had already been approved, the nail tech informed me there wouldn't be enough time because she had another client at 12pm. From 10am to 12pm is not 2.5 hours, even accounting for me being 10/15 minutes late. So the issue wasn't lateness. The issue was that the appointment was never scheduled for the full time they themselves quoted. I tried to adjust and offered to simplify the design to just one accent nail with the gems from the inspo photo. I was then told they didn't have the gems needed. This was frustrating because the photo had been sent in advance specifically to confirm feasibility. If certain materials weren't available, that should have been communicated before booking. To clarify, I even asked whether the earlier 10am slot they moved me to was actually appropriate for this design, because it didn't seem aligned with the original 2.5-hour estimate. The nail tech did attempt to offer the option of coming back later or adjusting, which I appreciated. However, when the front desk staff stepped in to "resolve" the situation, the tone shifted entirely. Instead of taking accountability or offering a real solution, she repeatedly blamed another staff member for the booking error, was dismissive, and did not provide any apology or meaningful resolution. There was no attempt to make it right ,just deflection This is now multiple experiences involving poor scheduling coordination, lack of preparation, and no ownership when mistakes happen. The nail work can be good. But communication, booking accuracy, and professionalism matter just as much, especially at this price point. Based on repeated experiences, I unfortunately cannot recommend this salon
