Four of us visited Unique Nails and Spa for shellac manicures and pedicures. We arrived at 1:50 PM, expecting a smooth group experience, but it quickly turned into a frustrating afternoon. One of us was only halfway done by 3:23 PM--with just the pedicure completed. Another was left sitting with tips on and nothing else done for over an hour and a half. A third friend was told she had to have her tips removed and new ones applied in order to proceed, which was clearly a cash grab and an attempt to take advantage of someone who didn't know better. I canceled my manicure and walked out. My daughter sat unattended for over an hour and a half, not even given a foot soak, while three other customers were helped ahead of her. The pedicure itself was nicely done, but $57 for a shellac pedicure is far overpriced given the disorganized, dismissive service. We raised our concerns with the manager, including the questionable upcharge for unnecessary tip removal, but were met with indifference and told, "We're competitive and that's how it is." I've been getting my nails done for over 30 years--I know how this should work. Absolutely terrible customer service and no accountability. If I could give zero stars, I would. I really enjoy coming to this spa! The staff are welcoming and very friendly, no matter how busy they are! The prices are pretty affordable for what you get, and I enjoy how thorough and nice service is. They don't rush you in and out, they take their time pampering you and I haven't been disappointed yet! I will keep coming here! I had a good experience here. I have been looking for a nail salon that I like and so far this one seems to fit. I went on a Monday around 4:30 and it wasn't too busy. I was immediately addressed and sat in the seat for my pedicure. Everyone was nice. The lady that worked on my nails was very friendly. You can tell they have a lot of regulars because the ladies that were in there getting their nails done seem to know the staff well which is a good sign. I didn't feel rushed like how a lot of other nails salons are and they did a great job on my nails. I got a gel manicure and I appreciated that they actually give you a full manicure with the hand massage and everything. You even get a punch card for a discount after so many visits. I have been a customer for more than 10 years. I have been very happy with the service I have received. Holly and Jenny are the best at SNS nails. It's best if you make an appointment because they are always booked. I always get gel polish because "regular" polish is not going to list more than a few days unless you never wash your hands, do chores or wash dishes. Gel or SNS will last and your nails won't break. Mail owner is so disrespectful. I used to go and just put up with his smart remarks, constant disrespect to customers until I just decided to stop going. Jenni was my regular there and she's amazing. Wish someone could talk sense into this guy. All the techs there are amazing but can't put up with constant poor customer service from him. I'm not your typical spa goer. I work retail when I'm not at school, and I seldom have time for self care. I walked in without an appointment and was sent to Kimmie. I knew I wanted a pedicure, as I was on Spring Break and my feet had been killing me. Kimmie did an amazing job with the pedicure. She was extremely kind and friendly. Noticing my legs, she asked if I'd like to get them waxed. I asked her how much it was, and then agreed when she told me it would last about two months. Kimmie was very gentle with the waxing and made the entire experience pleasant. We then moved onto the manicure. She gave me the option of keeping the shape and length of my nails. I told her I'd like them a bit shorter and shaped. She asked if square was alright, and I agreed. I wasn't really sure what I wanted with the color and asked for her opinion. She took into account thy I prefer darker colors and chose this deep almost black red. One with sparkles, one without. Honestly, I liked them both. I told her this, and she suggested we paint all of my nails but the ring finger one color and then use the other color for that nail. She did one hand one way, and then the other hand the opposite so I could see which color I liked better. She then did the last few coats the way I preferred it. When it was time to leave, she even offered to help me put my socks and shoes on so I wouldn't mess up my nails. I thought they were dry, but I guess I was just feeling insecure about sitting too long without paying. So unfortunately, I messed up my nails. That is completely my fault though. If I decide to come back and get all of this done again, I'd definitely do the waxing before the pedicure. But since this was my first time and I wasn't planning on getting a wax originally, it didn't happen that way. I completely recommend Kimmie. She is very skilled. Everyone in there was extremely friendly. Even the guy that I have read reviews about being rude or mean. read more

My family made reservations at this salon for 7 people to get manicures and pedicures today. Usually when our family gets together for this special day, the nail salons we've gone to in the past have been much more appreciative than this salon was. Here are my complaints in a nut shell. #1-Poor communication. #2-Did not offer any beverage including water. #3-Between my mani/pedi, I had 4 different people work on me and none of them seemed to be very experienced. #4-Don't try to pick out your polish from the polishes themselves, you must choose from the hundreds of painted boards. They couldn't explain how their system worked very well and it was so confusing. #5-They were bossy and rude primarily because they couldn't understand me. #6-We thought everyone was paid up, but while we waited outside for our daughter, they started demanding money rather than consulting with me about amount due. Again, miscommunication and I was suppose to pay for her pedicure. Rude! #7-Don't get any art painted on your nails! After 2 different people, neither could paint a decent snowflake. :( Still looks like a spider web! #8-After all the confusion, my toenail polish is completely different than my finger nail polish and I'm soooooo disappointed. #9-I have to file the edges of all my nails because they keep picking my clothes. :( #10-Reason for a 3 star rating you ask? I at least had a vibrating chair and valuable time with family.......priceless! If I could this zero stars I would. The hood reviews if there are any are from years ago or from white women. That's because these workers are extremely rude to black customers especially the Asian man. Me and my sister went here and there was a 20-30 min wait with four pedicure chairs open. We politely asked if our feet could soak while we waited. The Asian man shouted at us "no you kind wait!" Then rolled his eyes. I felt bad because I had recommended this place with the disclaimer that they aren't very kind but I thought they were just generally rude not specifically racist. 12/18/18...I've been a loyal customer to this salon for 12 years ever since I moved to Concord from NJ and today experienced such horrible treatment. 11 days ago on Fri 12/7/18 I had both a pedicure and gel manicure the DAY BEFORE I left for a Caribbean cruise...spent $71 total for both. Three days into my vacation the gel completely popped off my nails one by one as if I had on fake nails. I had never had this happen before from them. I returned from my cruise in the evening on 12/17th and first thing the next day I went to the salon with a few of the gels that popped off in a bag. Both the wife & husband (owners of the salon) REFUSED to redo my nails. Told me the best they could do is charge me 1/2 price because I should have called them when the gel started coming off even after telling them MULTIPLE times I was on a ship in the middle of the Caribbean ocean. I told them there was NO WAY I could call and that I have been a LOYAL customer for 12 YEARS and have NEVER come back to them for even a repair PLUS the salon was COMPLETELY EMPTY and they still REFUSED to make things right! The wife even agreed with everything I said about me being a loyal customer etc but still would not budge. I've been going to this salon so long that we both ask each other about our children! I went to go get a full set of acrylics yesterday. I usually go to Modish, but I was desperate and they haven't opened back up yet. The price board said $28 for regular and $43 for gel. I told them five different times that I did not want gel. At the end, my total was $53 ($10 for eyebrow waxing). I ended up paying and questioned them and they said it was the cost for gel that I clearly told them I did not. I will not be going back there and look forward to Modish Nails opening back up! read more

I had the worst experience at this nail salon! Yesterday, We had to ask for them to sanitize our chairs because they would only sanitize after a non minority. They only spoke or carried conversation with non-minorities. When we simply asked about the price of pedicure, we were yelled the price!!Lastly, in the middle of having my nails filed, the woman got up and just walked away and went and began working with the non minority person!' Don't ever come here. Such rude service!!!! I called ahead and said that I wanted two pedicures and bring my daughter for her 2nd birthday to get nails and toes painted. I came here bc they have kids chairs. They rushed us to get colors. Rushed to have my daughter sit by herself in a chair without me there to hold her hands. They got frustrated at a 2 yrs old. Just turned 2 for moving around and not knowing to keep her hands open. They did my pedicure in about 10 mins. Kept complaining about my 2 ye old sitting in the chair watching a movie. I came with my sister and she sat beside me and was getting gel so it took longer. There was no one else there but they MADE me get up to dry my toes. I said I wanted to stay there and sit to talk to her and he wouldn't let me. Said he had to clean the chair. I will never come here again read more

I usually go here but I won't be returning after today. The guy who I am assuming is the owner is extremely rude. I was moved twice and had to sit for about 20 minutes and wait for someone because the girl who was supposed to do my nails got up to do a pedicure. I sat and waited for someone to do my nails while three other employees were in their phone and the owner just walked around. And my nails look awful I have polish all over my hands and some of my nails are so clumpy. I can't believe I paid $40 for this. read more

I've been going to this salon since they opened - 12 13 years ? - so long, I don't remember. I go there because I know what I'm going to get, & my technician knows what I like. I pay ($40 - $45 each fill), which is probably average; I get the SNS (their recommendation). But a conversation lately has me questioning whether this is hygienic - how many of us get our fingers dipped into the same powders? Ewwww But I won't be going back, and that's not even why. They're rude, especially the grumpy little man who walks around like he owns the place (probably does); I've overlooked their ill manners (both to myself and others) long enough. There are at least 3 other nail salons within 5 minutes; customers deserve better treatment. read more

I always get great service here! Holly is a true artist and my nails look great for weeks. I've never had my appointment start more than a couple of minutes late, and that was only when they were swamped. I've also had pedicures and brow waxing done and have never been disappointed! As a bonus, I think their pricing is more reasonable than any of the salons closer to me! read more

Had an appointment booked first thing when they opened. I walked and found out they also had a wedding party booked for my same appointment time AND they took 3 walk-ins in front of any of us with appointments. They didn't have enough staff to manage the appointments...much less the walk-ins. Needless to say, I couldn't wait the 30-45 mins (which is why I had an appointment). Loyal customers are not appreciated. I had been going there since it opened. I tried to get an appointment with my regular tech to be told they were not taking appointments because they were so busy. I then was told by their receptionist that I had to take the first tech available. My response was no I don't I will wait for my tech. While waiting someone came in and had an appointment with my person. Imagine that. I had taken two of my granddaughters there previously and had their nails done by the first available techs and both of them were extremely disappointed. The nails were really bad very crooked. I had the same experience as the review on 5/17. I had an appointment for 3:30 p.m. On a Friday afternoon. This appt was made 2 days in advance. It was very busy when I arrived and I had to wait 25 minutes. I understand 5 or 10 minutes. There was no apology, no discussion, no acknowledgement. Obviously they have enough business so they just don't care. But why make an appt if I have to wait? If you are ok with walking in and waiting or being late with an appointment this place may work for you! I know I won't be back. read more
