Made an appointment over a week ago. Spoke to a man who said they don't make same day appointments. Which I did not ask for a same day appointment. Got to the salon and my name was not even written in the book. 1 woman working and 3 people waiting. My appointment was for 1 pm. At 1:15 she called the next person and I asked her if she was working alone. She looked in the book and said I wasn't on the books. My little brother is 4 and is absolutely terrified of buzzers and hates scissors. He randomly seemed interested in getting a haircut one day and we immediately rushed to unique cuts because of their airplane seat. The workers were able to fit us in after a 20 minute wait which was fine because they have a little play area and a tv in the room. I believe the woman who did his hair was named Sunday. She talked to him and showed him all the stuff she would be using on his hair, she let him touch the buzzers but used scissors so he wouldn't be scared. He is at the age where he questions everything and Sunday was able to take it like a champ. At the end of the haircut, kids get lollipops. This is definitely the place we will go to again for his next haircut. read more

I called today because a friend referred me to Sunday at Unique Cuts and they were thankfully open and taking walk ins at almost 5pm for 2 haircuts! YAY! After sitting there thinking about it I decided I wanted to color my hair and get back to feeling good and fresh with some blond highlights and I sheepishly asked thinking I would be turned down and nope! She did it all and I even got to watch her work her magic on some of her smaller clients... I am so impressed with her tenderness and caring with children. The guy who usually cuts my sons hair, he's almost 2, was no longer there. The guy who cut it this time was very nice and patient, but unfortunately the cut didn't turn out very good. I called to see if they could fix it and the owner said to drop by that Saturday or Sunday to fix it for me. Fast forward to Saturday when I went in and the same guy was there. I tried to call a few times within a hour and no answer and no way to leave a voicemail. I ended up going somewhere else to get it fixed, but ultimately had to pay full price to two hair cuts. read more

First time I went here it was the previous owner they had great customer service. The hippie girl who cut my hair was very nice and personable Today I went in, signed the list and waited. At no time was I acknowledged. There were two stylists working, a male and a female. Two groups of people came in after me, a mom with her son and another older lady with three kids. It was obvious that they all knew each other. When the female stylist was done, she took the older woman to a back area and was cutting her hair. Again I was never spoke to or even acknowledged that I was even there. After waiting about 15 more minutes I left. I guess if you're family or friends you get helped and get to bypass those that were waiting. Now, to their defense, these people may have had an appointment, but it would have been nice if I was a minimum acknowledged that I was even in the room. I miss the previous owners. We have been going here for years now but the gentleman that we always went to is no longer there but they have a new guy there and he is awful. We know that it is a walk in salon and always prepard to wait but my son likes going there so we wait. We went in and signed out name the girl that is always so sweet said that it would be about 30 minutes there was a few people ahead of us. The guy finished his cut and disappeared for 45 minutes leaving the poor girl in there all alone and she kept aplozising and saying that she thinks he was on lunch. She said to me your son is next he should be back soon. So he finally came back and called his name as he was getting up someone walked in that he knew and he said never mind they are first. I then stood up and stated that he was next but we would just go somewhere else that we had been waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes and we just didn't have the time to wait longer. The man then yelled at me and said " Get the Hell out of here and never come back!" everyone in the shop looked surprised that he went so crazy for no reason at all. I was very calm and said you don't have to worry I will never come back to someone like you. I feel terrible that the sweet girl that is always there and works so hard has to be with someone so terrible what a terrible way to run a business I will tell everyone how awful and nasty he is and that he uses terrible language in front of a room full of children. read more

After I got off work I tried a couple places to see if I could get a haircut. I called Unique and he happened to have a no-show. He was able to get me in immediately. Not only was he really nice but he did a great job on my hair. I went from long, boring hair, to sporting a pixie cut. This is my first professional haircut since the pandemic started and I'm glad I chose Unique Cuts. I, of course, wasn't able to keep my mask on but he wore his the whole time. :) read more

Worst haircut I've ever gotten!!! The guy that cut my hair didn't listen that a just wanted 1/4 inch trim. Cut at least 2 inches off! I left with it wet and didn't realize until I was straightening the next day how uneven it was cut. Obviously will never go back here!!!! read more

When we got there at 10 (slightly before as I wanted to get in & out quickly), hours on the door also said 10:00. We waited for 15 minutes and no one was there. Walked in and one stylist was cutting a child's hair. A mom and another child were also sitting in the waiting room. Voices in the back room were potentially other stylists. Signed my name on the list and sat down to wait. Sat there for 10 minutes without ever being acknowledged or spoken to. Since I wasn't sure how long the wait was going to be, and since I didn't feel seen or recognized, I crossed my name off the list and left. Not a word was said to me the whole time. read more

The owner, Sunday, gave me a wash and great cut. Will definitely come back soon with my kids for the sense of normalcy there.

You can't beat the price, and Ann the owner is an excellent stylist. Haircuts for $13.00 (more if you get a wash and bow dry) and they are just as good as the $40+ cuts I've had. Also a great place for kids cuts; they have car chairs that my kids love sitting in while they get their cut. Very clean studio as well! read more

It's very hard to find a place in Redding that does a men's undercut right and the girl that did mine was very meticulous and made sure I was happy with every aspect before moving on. Customer service was great and it actually very quick given how much attention to detail she paid. Seems like all the employees here have it together very well. Completely unrelated to my experience but just something I also appreciated: as I waited there was one girl who was giving a haircut to a young, very cranky, boy and even though he was very fussy through the ordeal she maintained herself very well and managed to get the job done and got it done right from what I could tell. Would definitely recommend for any types of hair cuts/styles. They also do beard trims and that's really neat. read more

Man I'm so disappointed. I hadn't got a haircut in awhile I'd been growing out the top length after my last cut was too short... I get done with my cut from Hannah and it feels good; I'm waiting and the card reader isn't working another employee comes over and says it's my card we try another one of my cards it also doesn't work. While I'm waiting the owner comes over and I ask her hey how does it look (my hair) she said " next time wash your hair before you come in." I'm like what? Then the other employee said " yeah it's all jacked in the back..." then the owner offers to wash my hair and hannah said I wetted it down he just got done he likes it." I told the owner I don't want to leave here feeling like i got a bad haircut..." I just am disappointed in the customer service and just the language of "it's all jacked in the back" damn ladies ... I think there could have been a way to say okay let's make the haircut better in the back and it would have been a way for hannah to learn and for myself to feel better about leaving with a haircut that feels great. I walked in very worried about how much hair I have been losing daily, to the point my scalp is showing a lot! Have done research and found I might be hypothyroid. Sat down, Vickie started combing and parting my hair inspecting the scalp and immediately asked me if I had had my thyroid checked because she would bet I was Hypothyroid! I was amazed she picked up on that without me saying anything. She gave me so much excellent information, not to mention an excellent cut, that I left there so much more relaxed and hopeful.
