Where to even start? I am someone who has had bad experiences in the past when it comes to my hair. I am the first to admit that there have been times where is was my fault for not speaking up or fully understanding what I was asking for. But Johnathan has been nothing less then a miracle. He listens when it comes to your fears and concerns and takes the time to explain and educate and ALWAYS delivers. I went from jet black dyed hair to wanting to be maroon and he did everything to keep my hair healthy and beautiful. He knew how scared I was to lighten my hair even though deep down I knew I had to and made me so comfortable and got results without any issues! His team is full of positive and amazing people and you need to check them out for all hair needs. You won't be disappointed! read more

The more I think about this the more upset I get. The owner states that her stylists are independent contractors? My "independent contractor" no longer works there and I had an upcoming appointment. Had my "independent contractor" not messaged me to tell me she moved, I would have never known. While sitting in my "independent contractor's" chair I received a phone call that I was missing my hair appointment with an "unknown stylist" at California Hair, who was extremely unfriendly! Apparently, this business tries to steal clients! I was shocked that they just rolled me over to the new girl and gave out my personal phone number without my permission. I have never booked any of my appointment with this business I have always booked my appointments with my independent contractor. This, to me, is shady and very unprofessional! I will also add that while this is a "family friendly" business sometimes the owners child just runs around hitting other clients with brooms and whatever. I don't necessarily mind the kids playing there, I try look past that because it is a family friendly business, however, the rudeness and unprofessionalism is not acceptable! I posted this same review on another site and was asked by the owner to edited it. So I will edit here as well. I never received any type of notification that my stylist no longer worked there and obviously they had my phone number. The owner had several weeks to follow through. I never was asked if I would like to stay at this business and have a new stylist. I never authorized any appointment or a new stylist. What the business owner did was wrong! She 100% changed my stylist in the books without discussing it with me first. I have had my stylist for years and I made it to my schedule appointment on time, just not at her business. Not only did the "new stylist" have the audacity to say I would not be charged for being a "no show" but so did the business owner in her reply to my review. I definitely was NOT a "No Show" to an appointment I didn't have! Very unprofessional and shady!!! read more

The vibe is NOT good the walls painted black it's like walking into a cave. The owns two kids 3 years I was told they are there every day. It was not relaxing at all. Her little boy kept coming in and hitting my leg. We love our haircuts and love our hairdresser and will follow her no matter where she goes for herself I give her an 5/5 read more

Keith did a great job on my haircut today. Would definitely recommend them to anyone. Especially with sports clips having a 90 minute wait right next door read more

Told hair stylist what I wanted and she did great on sides and back but didn't do what I wanted on top length. Then put a gob of gel in hair,so I was unable to see length before I left. Got in quickly and price was ok but she seemed in a rush. read more

My first experience at California Hair was awful. I got my hair thinned incorrectly. She lacked customer service skills. Never introduced herself by name and expressed no interest in wanting to have me as her customer in the future. I don't know if it was a race thing or what. Despite the fact that I tipped her 33%. I will not return and will take my money elsewhere. read more

Made an appointment for 9am. Showed up a little early and the sign on the door says they don't open until 10am.

Michelle B. Cut my hair on 2/13; Wow, she did a wonderful haircut, just how I like it and I am very particular about my hair. Thanks Michelle read more

I went in today to get a couple inches trimmed off my hair that was to my butt. So much for a couple inches. Over 6 inches was cut off my hair leaving it above my shoulder blades. When I started to cry because my beautiful hair had been butchered, the hairdresser had the nerve to say that is how much I told her. When I said no I asked to have a couple inches trimmed, she said that my hair needed that much cut off and it will be healthy now. Heartbroken several years worth of growth cut because she thought it needed it. When I mentioned what happened to another employee there was no remorse and she went along with her day. I DO NOT RECCOMEND CALIFORNIA CUTS...... read more

I would NOT recommend this place unless you desperately need a simple cut or trim. My experience proved this is a place for 'entry-level talent' to practice cutting hair. The people are very nice and fair....since the gal that attempted to cut my hair realized she lacked the expertise and didn't charge me for time I spent in her chair. Ended up at Wavelengths Salon and a short time later my hair looked exactly like the picture I was seeking. read more

Just had the best haircut of my life. I've had long hair since before covid but felt it was time for a change. Kayla took time to talk me through my options and how they'd look on me and helped me make the best decision. I couldn't be happier with the result. read more

This place is the best place in town to get your haircut! The atmosphere and the music make it such an awesome vibe. My person, Michelle did an AMAZING job on my hair and I will keep going back to here every time I need a haircut. read more

My husband and I went in for hair cuts. We made appointments through Booksey and got right in. They also take walk ins which works as well. Michelle, one of the new owners, did our haircuts and they were perfect! Highly recommend this salon, very family oriented. Loved watching Johnathan cutting a 4 year old's hair while I was waiting. Very patient and sweet with the very rambunctious child! read more

Great service, love BECKY. Great at hair and very family friendly, Becky has been cutting my hair for 19 years and she never disappoints.

I walked into this place not knowing what to expect but Ruby exceeded all expectations above and beyond! She made me look handsome again! Now my wife can look at me and I didn't have to sleep in the couch anymore. She even stopped banging one of the gym rats in Shasta Athletic Club! Now she only gags a little when I come around. Thanks California Haircuts for fixing my marriage! read more

I think I got the owner and it was a perfect thorough cut and I'm very picky and know barbers well. Much cheaper and shorter line than next door! read more

Quick & easy haircuts for boys. No need to make an appointment, just pop on in & sign the waitlist (if there is one). The stylists are friendly & do a good job. read more

This place is good only if you get the right person! Becky cuts my sons hair and she is amazing. Today on the other hand was a different story, we had a woman with long dark hair and I hate to say but she did a horrible job! I asked her to cut my daughters hair and add long layers, I also asked her to thin it out with thinning shears. The hair cut took 5 minutes tops! No way did she do what I asked!! Then we walked out of the salon and she left a long stand of uncut hair! I guess if they advertise 1/2 off for new customers then you get a shitty haircut. Wish I had kept my $3 tip, I will not go back for my daughters hair. Too bad you lost a good customer. read more

Avoid this place unless you have LOTS of time to WAIT! Been coming here for years, it has gotten so much worse singe manager Becky became owner Becky. They are SLOW to begin with and now for the last year they are very understaffed. The staff that is here is lifeless, gets your part wrong, cuts timidly, cuts raggedly and they are straight out of beauty school, except the owner, who is twice as slow and after 6 years of coming here, never remembers anything about my hair. But Hey, IF YOU LIKE WAITING, then seeing someone's friend take cuts in line before you, or someone returns that signed in 2 hours ago and returns while you waited and they take him first, then this is your place! Otherwise, do your self a big favor and go somewhere else. read more

I have been coming here for years. Great haircuts, friendly staff. Recently though it has taken much longer to get a haircut and I end up walking out more often than getting a haircut.I will probably try again because they are so nice but hope for quicker service. read more

Great place to get the haircut. No appointment easy in easy out! Jen dose a great job!
