I am also incurring out-of-pocket rental expenses while this situation remains unresolved. I've found the process between CarMax, the finance company, and GAP to be extremely frustrating, with little guidance or assistance during a financially stressful time. As a customer, I expected better coordination and support given that these partners work together. It's a used car lot and they rent the cars they're selling so they're not in perfect condition but it's VERY affordable. I rented a small car and they told me they'd call me when a full size came back and I could swap it out free of charge. The lady working inside is very nice. They require a drivers license, full coverage insurance (they will call your policy holder to verify), & a $100 deposit. They accepted my debit card so don't worry if you don't have a credit card. They refund your deposit the same way you give it to them. If I remember correctly they also accept cash. The cars aren't extremely fancy but they get you from point a to point b which is all I needed. I would definitely recommend. *also to add, I'd call before going because their hours ref very promising. At least not when I went a few months ago. It was hit and miss. Lol nonetheless once you get a hold of someone they're very helpful. I'll def be using them whenever I come into town. We have typically worked directly with Kyle, the owner, especially because our children drive these vehicles and he truly values safety. This time, however, we worked with Mark. Things started off well. I made it clear that the vehicle was for my son, and initially, Mark seemed attentive. He even asked for a Yelp review while I was signing the paperwork, but I prefer to wait until the entire process is completed before leaving a review. Unfortunately, after the paperwork was signed, the experience went downhill. The vehicle needed servicing because the battery would not start. Mark informed my son that a part had to be ordered and that the car would be ready on Monday or Tuesday. Monday passed, and on Tuesday (1/13/26), Mark texted my son stating the vehicle would be ready at 1:00 PM. When my son and husband arrived on Tuesday, things became frustrating. They were told that the temporary tags Ms. Hall had prepared were misplaced. My husband also noticed that Mark seemed more focused on selling cars to other customers rather than assisting the customer who was standing right in front of him. It felt as though my son and his vehicle were no longer a priority since the paperwork was signed. When the car was finally started, it became clear that there was no gas in the vehicle. Mark continued running the car despite this and stated he was too busy to get gas, yet the car could not be moved off the lot. The car eventually ran out of gas right there. Mark then said he would send someone to get gas. After waiting for some time, someone arrived with a gas can, filled the vehicle, and Mark said everything was fine. However, once my husband got into the car to finally leave, he realized that the windows and radio were not working. Because of this, we were unable to even check the heating and cooling to see how it worked. My husband went back inside to inform Mark, but instead of addressing the issue, Mark told him hold on, made a phone call, spoke briefly to others, stated he was leaving, and walked out leaving my husband standing in the parking lot without any explanation. Before my husband could become more upset, AJ stepped in thankfully. I want to sincerely thank AJ, Alex, Ms. Hall, and Scott for stepping up and helping us through this situation. Their efforts did not go unnoticed. They worked together as a team to help resolve the issue. While we are still waiting for the vehicle to be fully serviced, AJ and Scott went above and beyond by providing us with a loaner car in the meantime. Because of them, our confidence in 518 Auto has not been completely lost, and we truly appreciate their professionalism and support.

As a military family, we've bought cars in Dayton, OH while stationed at WPAFB; Los Angeles, while stationed at LAAFB; Louisville, while stationed at Fort Knox; Jacksonville, FL while stationed at JAX; Baltimore, while stationed at FGGM; and Boston, while stationed at Hanscom AFB. Most recently, as a college graduation gift, I bought a Nissan Sentra from Enterprise Car Sales in Newport News and it was the most horrific experience. They applied a $500 coupon when preparing the Sales Invoice, accepted a $10,000 down-payment and then removed the coupon when I showed up to pay the balance and pick-up the car. They charged me for title registration and tags, but have yet to process the title or tags - and it's been almost 2 months. They told me during the transaction that it's Virginia State Law to have insurance coverage on the vehicle before I can drive it off the lot, which is a complete lie. The store manager (Isaiah) and area manager (Mertito) have no concept of customer service, were clearly last in their class for Management Training, and as a result, Enterprise Rental Car has also lost a valuable customer. I emailed the Regional Manager to discuss the issue, and she didn't even have the courage or decency to write back. But it doesn't end there! Because the police have pulled me over twice for expired paper tags, I finally decided to ask Enterprise Car Sales in Ellicott City, MD to assist. The store manager Frank told me to my face that "we don't get involved with other dealership's problems". Way to go Enterprise! So, in case you're still not convinced, Enterprise Car Sales Newport News only gave me one key fob for a new car that I paid for in-full (no car loan), stating they only issue one key fob as standard practice. Again, as a family, we've bought over a dozen cars and have always gotten TWO KEYS. I visited Car Keys Express, a Costco vendor, to get a second key fob and he told me that the dealership was supposed to give me two keys, but Enterprise Car Sales is famous for not issuing two keys because they have a side deal with a key replacement company, that charges $500 per key fob! Now if that doesn't convince you if how crooked, unprofessional, and downright dirty Enterprise Car Sales is - then nothing will.

They don't tell you if your paperwork is missing or if there additional steps, I had to call and find out. I paid the vehicle off with certified funds and they basically held the title for no reason. This was the worst experience I had with a company!
