I would leave zero stars if I could. This company is not to be trusted. They charged me four times over the national average for parts, replaced parts that were not in need of repair, charged my insurance company and me for the same services. Schedules an appointment with this company to look over my car. Now I'm a local business owner right up the block from these guys so I wanted to keep the money in the community, because I know we all need to support one another. Sometime around oct. 20th or 21st I came into this establishment with God on my heart and a good morning on my tongue. It was around 9:30-10 that I stopped in. I came in and I said "good morning good morning". The owner (the older white gentleman) looked at me like I was nasty and wasn't suppose to be there. So to lighten the tension An extended my hand to greet him as he looked at me with a Straight face and said "don't you see me Helping her" leaving my hand in mid air as if it wasn't good enough to touch. Never have I felt so disrespected, but being black in times like this made me feel all sorts of ways. But I acted as a respectable business man and said "I do apologize sir but the lady was in her bag and I thought you were free please forgive me". I didn't get a No a it's ok or you're good come from his mouth. He just looked at me like your dismissed. Even the older lady whom was there felt the vibe. However, I got the drift my money nor my kind isn't welcome. So I left out.... As I walked out I couldn't understand how could one be like that running a company in a predominantly black area. It always puzzles me that we don't mind spending our money with our white counter parts but the services we receive at time are not up to par. However you read this read it!!! But it was definitely an elephant in the room at this place and I wanted to address it. I really hope these guys stay being successful but I truly hope the customer service change for all mind kind. This place has great cars that have been virtually reconditioned to new at a fraction of the new price. Although I probably should have at least test driven a comparable car to the one I was considering purchasing closer to home before I decided I wanted a different transmission, I was blown away with how nice the car and Jon and Kent were. Sorry for wasting your time guys. Thanks for entertaining me on my unnecessary excursion. As a side note, Yelp really seems to be a place for people with unrealistic expectations to vent and satisfy their own shortcomings. Absolutely nobody should waive a diagnostic fee. If he spent an hour of time figuring out a problem why should he give it back when he makes a repair. What if your boss came to you and said "That deal didn't go through so I'm gonna go ahead and not pay your wage for the morning you spent working on it. Be careful when dealing with this business. They deceived me while asked to diagnose my car charged me a $140 diagnostic fee without disclosing an amount or getting my authorization. I expressed to them that I didn't authorize them to do any work on the car and found it an excessive price to pull codes. They refused to waive the $140 fee if I had them fix the car. They quoted $1000 to replace 6 coil packs and 6 plugs. Twice what 2 other shops charge. Then on top of that the diagnostic fee. They tried to sell us 6 coil packs when only one was showing bad in diagnostic. The car is a BMW 528i and has 85k miles on the car. The car is a "baby" says Kent, the father of the owner. So, why is your son trying to sell my son 6 coils packs when only one is showing bad? I will be taking this car to another shop for diagnostics to get a second opinion. If I find a descrepancy I will report it. At this time we feel that we were lied to, deceived, given a vague description of what is wrong with the car, and the Owner Jon and father Kent caused me hours of time trying to understand what they determined was wrong with the car so I could discuss it with my warranty company. Needless to say I don't trust them and would not allow them to repair the car. I own my own business and understand time is money. However, their communication, unwillingness to help me understand the diagnosis, and not telling me all that was wrong with the car is unacceptable. The son Jon, was very vague with me and my spouse. He basically eluded to details that he discussed with my warranty company. I learned from the warranty company that the car had a leaking oil pan due to a loose gasket. It blew my mind that during several conversations Jon nor Kent told either of us after several conversations. Why did they withold that information from me? This made me suspicious. Then once we nailed them down to answers, Kent was inflexible and unwilling to reduce or remove any part of the fee. At this time I am no further along in knowing what is really wrong with my car than I was when I called them.. My partner Brian will be giving his report on his discussions. My son Joe will be giving his report on his discussion. What is wrong with business that we cannot be treated fair and honest when we engage in service with them. Why couldn't the owner just take the time to answer questions and make recommendations that are in the best interest of the consumer instead of their own pocket. My son is a med student. Would leave zero stars if possible. Called to get an estimate on a fog lamp replacement and was told that he needed to see the car which is understandable. The problem was the way he spoke on the phone seemed annoyed that we were bothering him. We showed up in hopes that he might be more friendly in person and schedule an estimate for us.. But he proceeded to treat us like we were an inconvenience for him and said he was booked for the next 2 weeks and he would contact us. It's been over a week and still no phone call. It's rare that I try a business with such good reviews (on Google, not Yelp) and feel like my business is not wanted at all! Even though we were patient and respectful, we couldn't even get past the scheduling portion.... Don't waste your time. read more
