Not only does cornerstone have beautiful displays in the showroom they have just about every possible sample of wood and flooring. Kim one of the employees came out to our home and measured the rooms and gave us expert advise on an assortment of options for the layout. The owner is very friendly and obviously very knowledgeable both in remodels and construction. You don't get that at a big chain store. I was served by Paul, a wonderful, soft-spoken fellow. Paul was knowledgeable and steady, despite my emotional exhaustion over this plumbing debacle, and I now trust him. Before I'd spent half a sentence describing my fixtures, Paul knew exactly the type I was talking about and was already on the trail of the needed (albeit very expensive) replacement hardware. The porcelain would be saved. Despite my frothing at the bit, he gently suggested I NOT buy the replacement right away, but measure at home first. He was right - I would have bought something that wouldn't work. Another dead end, thought I, and I was ready to give up. But Paul, that trail cold, made a call to Kohler, sent me a spec sheet for the right parts, and had the parts on my doorstep *less than 24 hours* after I returned the credit card authorization form. One drawback, either Ferguson's or Paul (or the whole plumbing industry?) is stuck in the fax age and wary of email. I can't remember the last time I had to interact with a fax machine.

What we value most is that they think ahead and plan carefully so that the whole project goes quickly and smoothly. Their excellent work keeps reminding me of how the Empire State Building was built so quickly with limited space for construction materials, all because of perfect project planning. A similar job last year took another contractor 3 months to finish, while they only spent 3 weeks. Dave and Carlina are nice, easy to work with, and our cats loved them. Dave would spend lots of time thinking and comparing different ways to arrange the tiles so that the shower looks perfect. Carlina's communication is always prompt. They work with our schedule and the cabinet guy/the stone guy's schedule to line all ducks in a row. They go out of their ways to fix what they think is not perfect. They test everything extensively to make sure there is no leak. Dave and Carlina made the whole remodeling process so easy and even enjoyable, that we are finding new projects to work with them. They worked throughout the Labor Day weekend to get the project complete in our time frame (our neighbors even noticed how hard they were working while we were away!) Two issues with the materials came up while we were on vacation and they were able to make the run to the store to get the updated selections we purchased online. When we returned home, their craftsmanship was excellent! Everything looked exactly as we pictured and we love it!! They arrived when expected, protected the the rest of our room during demo and installation, and always cleaned up at the end of the day. Rich Kessler, the Project Manager, was very communicative, and kept the job running smoothly. He listened to concerns and paid attention to the details. He kept track of follow-up issues due to supply-chain problems with the door manufacturer. Mr. Kessler never forgot about these details and came back twice to finish these minor issues when supplies became available. Great!
