Overall, I was decently satisfied with the work East Penn Roofing did on my home, but I was very…read morefrustrated with the lack of communication and the surprise bill I received at the end. We had Jacob, the estimator, come out and give us a quote of around $6,000 (plus or minus a few hundred dollars) for a roof leak repair. The crew came out, installed a new rubber roof on our back sunroom, added a skylight, and did some carpentry work. The only communication I received during the project was a single phone call from Jacob, letting me know the cost might be a few hundred dollars higher than the original estimate. The next day, however, someone else came out asking us to sign a change order stating we owed an additional $3,200 on top of the $6,000 estimate. I could have understood $1,000 over, but more than 50% higher with no warning? That was completely unreasonable. Unfortunately, their fine print allows them to tack on costs without much recourse for the customer. Change orders are presented after the work is done, not during the process, leaving you with no opportunity to approve or decline adjustments as they go. In summary: East Penn Roofing does solid work, but their communication is poor and you should be prepared for surprise costs far above your initial estimate. Buyer beware.

It was a struggle to find someone to follow through and come inspect the roof in the timeframe I was looking for, until I reached out to Element Roofing. David inspected and diagnosed the issue with my roof in a timely manner, came up with a temporary fix, and eventually replaced my roof successfully in the following weeks. Throughout the entire process, David and Element Roofing were very processional, provided great customer service, and great quality and value. We definitely recommend Element Roofing for any future roof repairs and installations!

If you'd like to see that or copies of our back and fourth text messages begging him to return let me know. He even said he'd be back out and never came after a partial finalization visit. That is unacceptable. It also took over two and a half months to get our 50+ year GAF warranty despite multiple request after being told it could take up to 30-days. This type of behavior is not what I sensed from him initially when he stood in my kitchen and promised me he was a hands on manager of his crew who would be here throughout. He was here periodically but they were here sux days after he promised they'd be done in 3.5 days max. And, weather played only a small isolated role in that. Email me at seemefly06@msn.com if you have any questions. And, I have proof to back up every single thing I've stated here. On a positive note his crew was great. They were respectfully kind, cleaned the grounds well before leaving each day and kept me informed as things progressed. In kind, I baked cookies and provided other snacks and beverages throughout all six days. And, that is how we feel we should have been treated by their boss... respectfully.

The floors were sanded down right to the nails in places, before I came onsite and saw what was done. I used Alliance for a large roofing project and also to replace a shower base. Alliance provided a…read morelifetime mold-free guarantee for the shower work. Imagine my surprise then when no more than six months after the work was completed, my shower base had developed extensive mold in the seaming between the base and the wall tile. I contacted the owner to make him aware of the issue, and he stated that they had used the wrong caulk and would address the issue by replacing the caulk. However, when they came back they used the same caulk as the first time and the employee stated that was the caulk they always use. After a short time, the mold came back just as before. I contacted the owner yet again and was told I should just clean the caulk and he cannot come re-caulk every year when mold grows (notwithstanding the fact that the project was guaranteed mold-free). What seems more likely to me is that the correct caulk is not being used, or poor workmanship has caused mold to grow underneath the mold-free caulking. After repeated attempts to communicate with the company and the owner to remedy the issue, they have now become completely non-responsive. I would only recommend this company if you are willing shell out several thousand dollars and take the risk of being left with a deteriorating final product and no recourse for correction. Zero stars, do not recommend.
