The 2 men that ended up delivering our appliances yesterday were first class and did a great job. We are still awaiting to hear back about the microwave that came damaged. Other then that, our overall review of the Home Depot have changed thanks to their customer service and great delivery men the second time around. My husband and I recently purchased new appliances from Home Depot and chose to have them delivered by them. We were given a delivery date of about 2 weeks later and said they would call the day before with an estimated time frame for delivery. They called the day before and gave a 4 hour window 2-6. At this point everything had gone smoothly with no problems. The day of delivery again they call with the same time frame 2-6 and confirm. Around 3 they call back and state they are very behind and won't get to us until 5-7. Around 6:15 they call and say they are 30-40 mins away. At 7:45 they had still not shown up so I called them from the number that was calling. No answer. At 8:00 I call the delivery company and ask what was going on. They state they had just heard from the men who were supposed to deliver our appliances and their truck broke and they won't be able to redeliver for another week! Absolutely unacceptable. I find it hard to believe their truck "just" broke when they were 30-40 mins away. Especially after googling them and come to find out it's basically something they do time and time again. I will never go back to Home Depot. They are scam artists to continue to use such a poor delivery company knowing how awful they are. To say they don't know, would be a lie. It's all over the internet!

We rarely need to make returns, but we just had a recent instance of having to return 5 bags of polymeric sand because we decided to have the job done by a contractor. I saved the receipt and my husband went to the store to return the sand. It was a VERY UNPLEASANT experience to learn that there is a 90 day window on returns (with receipt) and NO EXCEPTIONS ARE GRANTED FOR A RESELLABLE ITEM such as polymeric sand! Needless to say, we have made our LAST purchase at Lowes and I will be sharing this VERY NEGATIVE experience EVERYWHERE I can.

As much as corporate America wants to tell you that a chain location is a chain location, I say nay-nay on that one. It very much is not. It was truly a maddening hodge-podge experience of store X having one thing you need in stock, yet store Y will have a different piece but not the same thing as store X so it's almost impossible to physically see or purchase multiple things under one roof at the same time (even for very basic things) since the inventory is so damn varied. That doesn't begin to describe my favorite of the Lowe's website telling you that item X is in stock at store X only to get there and find out that ooops, it's actually not. Of course, the crap consolation prize is that they can always order it but when your contractor wants it today, waiting a week for it to get sent to the store or your house doesn't really cut it. During our long and winding road, we visited (in most cases multiple times) the stores in Bethlehem, Whitehall, P-Burg, Lancaster, both stores in Reading, and Flemington. Phillipsburg for bathroom related items (be it fixtures, vanities, flooring, wall tile, plumbing, electrical, etc.) was easily hands down the best store for selection and for actually having staff that were visible and willing to help. Fantastic assistance from a few of the guys here in flooring and over in paint/stains. Very knowledgeable with what will work/not work and with how things will look when applied. I've been going to the Bethlehem store since it opened many years ago and it is literally not possible to get the same type of involvement from the staff (if you can find them) at that store. At some point in the future after we're able to absorb the hit to the body this project cost us, it'll be time for the kitchen and while I'm sure multiple stores will be needed, we'll be starting at this one.

Called the Appliance Guy because the ice maker in the refrigerator was sometimes making ice…read moresometimes not. Also, when you went to get ice thru the door we had to open & slam it to get the ice to dispense. Michael showed up as schedule and spent time diagnosing the problem. He found several possible reasons for the issues. His recommendation was to start with the most inexpensive fix first to see if that corrected the issue. So, he replaced the door switches. It worked! No more slamming the door to get ice! Just so you know the other solution was to replace the entire door which would have cost $1200. He suggestion to start with the most inexpensive solution first saved me $1000! Michael was knowledgeable about the product and potential issues and honest in his recommendations. Will not hesitate to use his service again for any appliance issues!

I don't like coming here because I don't know what I will find, but I do know I will find a lot of things to spend money on! It is an easy thing to do. Also, people let their ankle biters free range here. Be prepared for that, it's a thing.
