I arrived at 5:10 PM for a single item--a balloon whisk. I said hello at the door, but instead of a…read morereply, a somewhat neurotic staffer barked at me: "We close in ten minutes." (The store's published closing time is 5:30 PM, not 5:20 PM.) I went to look at the whisks. Another staffer literally ran over to me and, from about three feet away, stared at me for a while, with a pained, impatient expression. After a while he said "What you want! We close in ten minutes." At this point I asked whether they really close at 5:21 PM. He said yes. I said the published closing time says 5:30 PM. He said "That's when we lock the store. Customers get out 15 minutes before then." I asked for a manager, but none was present. I asked the employee for his name: Benjamin. Apart from the hostile service, the inventory I saw was pretty terrible. The whisks looked more like dollar-store items than serious commercial utensils. Perhaps the rest of the store is better, but I'll never find out.

You drop them off one day and pick them up the next. It's a pleasure to have sharp knives. And in a truly efficient manner, all the questions I had were answered on a prerecorded message on the phone. But that's just a sliver of what they have to offer. Many kitchen utensils, large and small, knives, pots, pans, olive oils adorn the walls and the store itself. The prices are competive to other high end suppliers and you can look, feel and even try items before you buy them. While just browsing, I asked for some advise, warning them that I wasn't buying and friendly, on point advise was forthcoming. Highly recommend! And remember, shop local.

From Aprons to cast iron cleaners, pots, pans, knives and specialty oils, premium products, etc. This is my second time here. I've been trying to shop more locally than online. I had placed an order from the big online store that I feel is taking over and running people out of business with their sometimes subpar items. Sure, they are convenient, but I'm all about helping the local businesses. I canceled my items once I walked into this store and found the cast iron soap, cast iron brush, melting dome and bacon press I had ordered, all with similar prices, except that I was able to see and touch the items. The store clerks have so far, been helpful. Pay a visit if ever in the area. You won't be disappointed.

I came here during the holiday season looking for someone to repair a Chinese Cleaver (similar to a…read moreChefs Knife) that was damaged by my father when he was cutting a pork bone. For those who know, a Chinese cleaver is not a bone cleaver, it is used like a Chefs knife and cannot break through bone. The cleaver was heavily damaged and I was looking for a place to help me repair and sharpen the blade. Indulge Kitchen Supplies was one of the only places that responded and I am glad they did. The store itself is on a main street with a fair amount of street parking and the store is super cute. The store sells a variety of kitchen gear from different knives, cutlery, utensils, etc. Most of the curated items are modern and high quality such as Durelex glass and Global Knives. While their prices are a little higher than online prices, they have quality stuff and I recommend buying from them. Their knife sharpening and repair was a life saver for me. The Chinese Cleaver is a large knife and they were able to get it done for me in less than a day and it was fully repaired. Looking at the photos you can see that they took out all the dings on the knife and sharpened it back to the point where I could use it again. I highly recommend this service and would readily come back when I need any knife repair or sharpening.

To get there, you have to find the building, and then drive around back, find an unmarked place to park, and climb a short but steep staircase to get in. It really is a warehouse: it has a concrete floor and there are roped-off areas that are used to store goods. But the area where they sell stuff has a lot in it: coffee urns, ceramic and metal containers, flatware, frying pans and cooking pots, wonderful glass serving pieces, pewter creamers, serving utensils, sizzle platters, keep-cold containers, and trays. They even have those containers that dispense dry cold cereal (which you see at the breakfast bar of chain motels). Sometimes there are cheese board sets, or cutting boards. What's available depends on when you visit. You can order whole sets of matched flatware, but they also have individual single utensils (around $0.50 per utensil). The have wonderful, showy glass serving dishes. You can see some of them on their website ( http://www.bonchef.com/ ). For under $20.00, there was a square platter (approx. 16"x16"), or a rectangluar one that was approx. 8"x24", or one that was approx. 12"x18". There were also glass bowls and other smaller pieces in the same patterns. I could see getting a couple of items as an impressive new home gift, without spending huge amounts of money. We got some serving utensils (slotted spoons and serving spoons) that we use all the time, and I couldn't resist one of the small glass items. If you're looking to outfit a kitchen, or for a kitchen-y sort of gift, it's worth checking out, though there are no guarantees. The folks minding the checkout told me that they'd been told there would be no more glass once it was all sold. But they also said management had been telling them that for a long time, and there were still a lot of glass items.

The prices are reasonable and they cover most of the basics. They dont have cheese cloth which I needed one time. And the supply is limited to basics nothing fancy.
