Burritos are one of those foods where even if they're bad, they're still pretty good. Unfortunately this was just not a very good burrito. Each individual element of the burrito (the rice, beans, salsa, and veggies) didn't have enough flavor, so the overall burrito was extremely bland. Say what you will about Chipotle but there's a reason their cilantro lime rice is so popular: for a good burrito you need every element to taste good on its own. The burritos are $6 for small, $9 for large. The ordering process is really similar to any Tex-Mex takeout place where you choose your protein and what toppings you want. The location right off of the East Bay Bike Path is super convenient. The space has a bright, modern design with lots of space to sit indoors and outdoors. I should also note that with COVID-19, the person making my burrito was NOT wearing a mask and I didn't notice until after I ordered. I didn't really incorporate this into my star rating because I probably won't be coming back here either way. But maybe scope out the public safety aspect before you order. read more

This was my second visit and both times were great! The service is attentive, the space is beautiful, and the food is delicious! The first time, I got the hot honey chicken and waffles, and this last time I got the turkey avocado club sandwich! Both were perfect. The fries were a great addition as well. My wife and I want Union Burrito to succeed! Great location, cool ambiance, friendly staff; we would love to have it be a neighborhood "go to" for drinks & snacks. BUT it is overpriced, inconsistent, and lacking vision. Case in point...we went in today (Cinco de Mayo) to an empty bar...nobody around...and the one staff member we found could not tell us if they were open or not. Truly. Awful experience at the union bar. They overcharged me for a half shot of Jameson that was watered down. On top of that, I was denied an opportunity to give a live acoustic performance. I feel as though I was denied for being a white, heterosexual male. After sending the manager my material I was told that " an open mic would work best but not a full set." As a musician with 10+ years experience, this is highly disappointing. These are the types of venues that preach diversity but in reality it's as segregated as Django unchained . Super excited to have a local taco shop in town. On first impression the shop is clean and bright, inviting, and I was welcomed on arrival! Stopped by on their Taco Tuesday and grabbed a few $2 tacos; a great deal for a quick lunch or light dinner. Tacos are American style and they make them right in front of you. Everything tasted very good, and was fresh. Next time I'll definitely try a tofu burrito! Happy to see a good vegetarian/vegan option. Tough love here, as I really do want this place to succeed, but mediocre at best. Got a steak burrito, chicken burrito, chicken quesadilla and chips with queso. Nothing is outright terrible, but as Andrea P. mentioned, its expensive and mundane. You can make your own better burrito for less money, or travel 10 minutes to Moe's or Chipotle and still get much better for less money. Very confused by the lack of medium\hot salsa choices. The jalapenos are the pickled type, not fresh. There is NO PORK OPTION! No carnitas or even slow cooked style... A staple of Mexican food completely missing, but chorizo is there... perplexing. Lastly, please get rid of or replace the "Queso"... even if it is homemade, it looks and tastes like movie theater nacho cheese. Very offputting. On the positive side, the rice, beans and flour tortillas seemed fresh, although I did notice some crunch on the rice as well, could be from overcooking\drying but didnt kill it. Chips were tasty and guac, while a bit too citrusy was still good.Again, not a bad burrito just nothing special. This is a hard one to write and my hope is they significantly improve. Riverside absolutely needs businesses like this, and i'm hoping for the renaissance that Borealis Coffee shop started continues and that Union Burrito ultimately succeeds over time. For folks to want to spend close to $10 per burrito, its going to need to be extra good, extra special and something that makes folks want to stick local. I will be trying again in a few months to see if things have improved, fingers crossed. Not terrible, not outstanding. Worth it if you go for taco Tuesday. I enjoy their tacos and burrito bowls, but it's mind blowing to me that they don't have pork. Like... what? I do enjoy the chicken and the chorizo is tasty but soooooooooooooooooooo greasy. Queso is good but reallllly thick. Like if you let it sit for 5 mins, you can't even get a chip in it. Good topping and sauce selection, but I wish they had different heat levels for salsa. The salsa, pico, and corn salsa are all very mild. Even the chipotle sour cream and sriracha mayo lean strongly toward the mild side. Disappointed with my experience. Ordered a burrito bowl, I asked for brown rice, steak, and different toppings. I picked up my order it had white rice and little to no steak. I asked for a side of queso and was given BUFFALO sauce. Place is usually great but getting an order wrong in one area is understandable but 3 different incorrect thing in an order is unacceptable. Tried the newly opened bar area of Union Burrito. Front door locked so we had to enter thru the older portion of the original restaurant. Sat at the bar. Bartender was less than cordial, she was totally rude. We were asked to scan the QR code to retrieve the menu. Neither my partner or I were able to do so. Another employee also tried using our phones and was unable to do so. She manually entered our orders into a computer. 45 minutes later - no food. Same employee had to enter a second time. Margarita was served in an iced tea glass and wine in a cocktail glass. Minor detail. Not a minor detail is she used her bare hands when scooping ice. When "sour" bartender finally brought our food we had to ask for napkins and utensils. Sour bartender never asked how the food was or if we needed anything. I ordered a steak and cheese fried burrito for $10.63. When the bill arrived I was charged an extra $1.00 for the beef and .50 cents for the frying! What the?? $12.19 not the printed $10.63. Sour bartender made the experience less than warm and welcoming. Perhaps she had a bad day but a greeting or at minimal a smile would have made the experience tolerable. Neither of us left a tip to which sour bartender responded "I hope you ladies are happy". Happy - we were thrilled to be leaving! I'll never go back. read more

We have had Union Burrito on several occasions and the were all great experiences. This last trip on April 10, 2021 I was not impressed with the crew that was on. The work area was very messy with food everywhere. On man did have a glove on but forwent the utensils and just used his hands to scoop out rice and everything else. There were used rags all over the counter, used plastic storage containers stacked up at the register and old receipts all over the counter. My food was only warm, I only have a few minute drive home. My empinada were good and hot but burrito bowl only warm. Quesadilla was very greasy. Both servers were wearing masks and gloves. My wife's burrito had hot peppers she did not order but that's what happens when you don't use utensils. Flavors are good, but appearance and service not want it has been in the past. My chips were only half done and very chewy. There did not appear to be any management on site to monitor performance. This is my first bad impression. read more

They are right in town so I will definitely go here instead of Seekonk (Moe's/Chipotle) for my TexMex fix.
