I can't say enough good things about Cassandra. We had our wedding at the Mt. Hood Organic Farms…read moreon June 7, 2014 and it was a fairy tale wedding. :) From my first emails and phone calls with Cassandra, I could tell she was very experienced, very organized, and just a really nice person. She answered all my emails promptly, gave very good recommendations, and was very thorough. And her website has so much great information on it! We had just moved to Portland a few months ago, so I didn't have any friends I could get wedding vendor recommendations from, but Cassandra's ideas and recommendations made wedding planning very easy! We didn't have time to meet with Cassandra in person before our wedding, but we did have a great Skype meeting with her a couple weeks before the wedding to discuss the timeline, decor, etc. It was obvious that Cassandra could really envision what I was talking about and how I wanted the day to look/feel like. She gave good recommendations on how much dessert to order, where to place different decor and tables, where to display the cake, desserts, the band, the DJ, and the harpist. And she gave clear instructions on when/where to bring the drinks, the deserts, and the decor. We ended the meeting feeling very very confident that Cassandra would make our wedding wonderful. At the wedding rehearsal, I was so impressed at how great Cassandra was at explaining all the roles of the usher, the welcome table greeter, and the wedding party. My wedding party included 8 kids (ages 4-10) and I was worried that they wouldn't have the attention span to comprehend their "jobs". But Cassandra was so nice and patient with them. The kids were perfect the day of the wedding! On the day of the wedding, I organized my decor the best I could and had to hope that Cassandra would be able to carry out my vision. AND SHE DID! She executed everything better than anything I could do myself or even imagine! I had lawn games, a candy bar, lots of trinkets and goodies on each reception table, some activities on my welcome table, a dessert table, an ice cream table, a potato sack race, photo booth, chalkboard signs everywhere (btw, Cassandra has the BEST handwriting! haha), and a tandem bike display. Everything was perfect. The wedding felt fun, warm, loving, casual, and elegant-exactly what we hoped for. The day was magical. The groom and I never had to worry about a thing (and we had A LOT of vendors Cassandra had to coordinate). Cassandra kept everyone on the timeline and everything just seemed to flow effortlessly. My guests were all enjoying themselves and many said it was the best wedding they've ever been to! :) Cassandra is also SUPER thoughtful. I also had 3 dresses to change into....and instead of making me go all the way back to the cottage to change, Cassandra set up a makeshift dressing room (complete with a mirror and dress rack) for me to make quick dress changes in a back room of the Apple House. That was awesome! Our day wouldn't have been as magical without Cassandra!!

We wanted an event that brought our community and family together to celebrate love, bikes, and camping in the stunning Columbia River Gorge, and it felt like Emee truly understood what was important to us from the start. There were so many tiny details she caught and helped us navigate. I particularly appreciated her calm support when we had a potential catering issue just three days before the wedding. She talked me off the ledge of worry and was willing to think through a full backup plan with me, before the issue resolved on its own. There were countless other instances of Emee handling things on the day of the wedding that let me, my husband, and our family just enjoy our time together. They were thorough, prompt, professional, and good at creatively solving problems as they arose. I would recommend EJP Events to anyone who is planning a large event - the experience was wonderful and my staff colleagues, supporters, and donors were all very impressed with the quality of our event. Emee and her team had great staffing at the event and skillfully coordinated all of our many shifting logistics for months leading up to the event. When we encountered obstacles, they handled them. When we needed to make changes, they cheerfully accommodated them. EJP has a "Can-do" attitude and they're both pragmatic and realistic about setting expectations while finding a way to get everything done. I'm so glad that we worked with EJP and they're at the top of my list for event planning in the future.

I was recommended to hire her through some of my mother's friends, and it could not have been more worth it. She was thoughtful and prompt in her communication throughout the planning process, making everything feel seamless and stress-free leading up to the big day On the wedding day itself, Catherine went above and beyond--stepping in to help when we needed it most (especially with our cake!)--all while maintaining such calm professionalism. She was always present without ever feeling intrusive, bringing a sense of ease to the entire day. Her eye for detail and artistry are remarkable, and she carries herself with such warmth, grace, and care that made Julian and I feel supported from start to finish. Lauren was instrumental in making our big day happen and go seamlessly. We are still so amazed, literally nothing went wrong. It was all perfect. The venue hunt was really really helpful too. We were having a lot of trouble narrowing down a venue, and they provided a huge amount of support showing us venues in our price range that met all of our criteria. We had been trying to do it ourselves for months to no success. This service alone was so so helpful! Trying to research ourselves using Google and the Knot and other wedding websites was no match compared to the wealth of knowledge and experience that YPB had to offer. The planning meetings we had with Lauren beforehand were also so super helpful and crucial. They helped us stay on track making sure we got everything done by when we needed to get it done as well as helping us not forget anything. YPB provided so many great resources for planning. And Lauren was able to answer all of my millions of questions that I had. The day of, Lauren and her assistant were amazing at their jobs. They were so calm and professional. There was a couple last-minute schedule changes we wanted to do and they totally crushed it in seamlessly making it happen. They kept us fed and hydrated and happy, gave me bandaids for where my shoes were hurting my feet and kept us all on schedule. I had so many anxieties about the big day because I've heard so many stories about things that go can wrong and I had just accepted that was something go wrong. But now I'm just convinced they just didn't have a good wedding planner!! If you're debating at all, I would say if you want to have a wedding of your dreams, then 100% higher YPB to help.

These owners are foreigners and there is a culture clash btw the value of american service/expectation and their racial and cultural prejudices and method of opperation. The venue is beautiful and historic hey you're in the NW nature beauty is everywhere take your pick. **Under no circumstances use Hoda's catering services portions and very small below industry size std. Quantity of food per person is very small altho you pd for a lavish feast. She and her team grab up the food quickly after being served and it disappears never to be seen again it's like she's rushing you out of the facility. I felt all food should have been left out and hors d'oeuvres relocated and left out for guest why they were taken to the kitchen and disappeared I have no idea. Even tho you have pd top dollar for the food you don't see it. From my research industry std price is $50-$150 per person Cape Horn is above $200/person and it's more like a small plate per person, the food is nothing special either and they don't want to box anything for you to take with you, you get push back when you ask. I felt it was frozen and heated and dressed. I wondered if it's being reserved or what's going on. At the tasting one thing was presented at the wedding it was a different thing served of lesser quality & very basic. No entre meats were ever given at tasting so you have no idea what's coming day of as a shock. There are no pictures shown of the food before you are served it beware! Hoda said tea/coffee/water and fruit is std with the menu when you pay suddenly it only comes with coffee only (tea is less than $5 for an entire wedding's need and why is self serve water not an option) the fruit didn't look that fresh and presentation was std they could have up the game for a wedding and added a fruit dressing. Food served will not make a full rounds around the table. It's served in small plates less than 4oz per person when according to my research std for catering is 4-8 oz which is about the size of a deck of cards or a woman's palm size. what you get is at best 2 oz. 1/2 the size recommended and quite thin. Plates served for approx 10 are small are really should be for 5 persons. I have noticed the entire summer to fall callendar is clear so that says that some how folks out there know the deal here STAY AWAY! There's a sign to the Kitchen that says "staff only" that tells me there have been probs before and other patrons have been asking what's going on with the food I pd for it's done a disappearing act. While what ever happened I can overlook or ignore shorting the food quantity and things surrounding the menu was totally unacceptable unnecessary as you are paying for a good menu and a very nice profit to Cape Horn no need to serve small plates for a extra high price. There's a mention that if you use Hoda's you get a discount that's a marketing gimick and never seen in any way. *something to bear in mind this is an inconvenience to guest to attend in Stevenson many people have to get 2 nites of hotel etc and live out a suitcase to attn your wedding. My suggestion is any name brand place in town the nines, ritz, Sheraton, marriott etc, Persimmon golf course etc with a name comes a certain surety. Cape Horn is not a functioning kitchen like other places that are 7 days a wk and that adds to issues. Most of all do some research and get yourself a good caterer with a good references. Day of assign someone to keep an eye of what's being done with food and what you'd like for pics your wedding coordinator is my suggestion think it thru a wedding has unexpected surprises as a host. You dont want the highlite of your wedding scammed away from you. My motive for posting here is so you are not scammed you pd big bucks with the intention of having a great time with your guest and a very nice menu that's not happening even tho you pd. You pay approx a month before the event and there is no incentive on the day of for the venue to deliver. Hope you wedding day is a dream and this helps you in some way. Weddings have a lot of opportunist in every industries along the way beware and be prepared. Good luck in the best way possible
