The service is really bad. They are so mean and disgusting. When my daughter goes there for lunch she always feels unwelcome, and when she goes to order food she says that they are mean and give her looks when she walks in. She says that she has seen the decrease in customers since the beginning of the year and she sees why. Disgrace. read more

The bagel flavor in the pumpernickel was really good! The bagel was a great size and soft. Everything was on point. The eggs had a bit of fluff! I could tell the cheese was those plastic slices which I'm not fond of. That's just my personal preference. Real nice spot with nice quick service. read more

This place is one of the best bagel spots I have come to know. Upbeat and lively. Good music playing and the staff is great. Very professional and friendly. Bagels were good. Coffee wasn't. Drinks from cooler were expensive. Lox sandwich (#46) was nicely portioned and tasted good. I asked for scallion cream cheese (apparently instead of plain) and was up-charged 0.75¢. The lady said it more than 3 times to the other workers/cashiers. Apparently they penny pinch here and up charge everything and any changes or requests. Staff seemed scared and/or timid, like they were being watched or judged. They weren't friendly. It wasn't busy and I said good morning to each of the 5 woman separately behind the counter, one at a time. None replied and it felt awkward and/or that they were trying to force a smile but would get in trouble. It actually reminded me of The Handmaid's tale. I have been coming to Union for quite some time now and absolutely love it. Bagels always fresh, staff is always so friendly and welcoming.

I order a sliced lox bagel, with onion and tomatoes (#46) and it was DELISH. This is a popular local bagel shop because once I ordered many customers started ling up behind me to place their orders. I would come back here for this same order and try different breakfast items or entrees. I have faith in this place and since the clientele is reliable I should see what else they have to offer. read more

I come here every day for my morning bagel. I'm always blown away by the consistent great quality and flavor of their bagels. The selection is impressive, from classic plain and sesame to creative flavors like super cinnamon raisin. Each bagel was fresh, perfectly baked, and had that ideal balance of crispness on the outside and chewiness on the inside. I come here every time I want a bagel on Long Island. Their lox (plain) bagels with veggie cream cheese are bombtastic! Its my go-to. I like the plain bagels with avocado, onion, lox, and cream cheese, toasted. Totals to about $6. They also carry a huge variety of muffins, flat bagels, coffee bar, drinks, cold cuts, and snacks (American and Asian). The Korean family that runs it is super friendly. This shop is located right next to Lynbrook high school and often has high schoolers in it as well as some people at the tables reading their newspapers and enjoying some coffee. Back when I was in high school I would come here during my lunch time and get fresh bagels. This is a cozy place to be. Give it a try! read more

first time going there and i think this was the best bacon egg cheese i had in about 4 years, i don't get out often to get breakfast like a feen but when i do i do and glad i went to this spot near my job cause dthey didn't seem like they were having the best day walking in, only cause i was definitely more smiles than they were but they did they thing with this sandwich and i'm more than satisfied so hopefully i can get more smiles back next time cause i really hope everyone was having a good day and if they weren't then these sandwiches were made with pain and heartache in them and i tasted and appreciated it read more

I have been coming to this Bagel Shop since I was kid. I have seen many changes in management but the quality has never wavered. I currently no longer live on Long Island but when ever I come home I always get at least a dozen but more often than not I order 10+ dozen and bring them back to RI with me to share with my friends and co-workers. Their bagels are made fresh daily. I know because I bought a dozen yesterday morning and had some leftover. This morning they were still soft and tasted good. Other bagel stores their bagels become hard as rock like the very next day. Small detail, but they have a milk/sugar station for your coffee. Coffee just the way you want it every time! This bagel shop was excellent before the new owners took over.The previous bagels were light and tasty now they are heavy and tasteless. I'm going to a different bagel store for the first time in 15 years. The new owners need to call back the previous owners and learn to make the bagels correctly. read more

Recently changed owners. The bagels seem to be the same......but there is often times a language barrier between the Asian lady and gentleman and the customer. They are however, very friendly and always smiling. Some of the other counter staff is the same as the previous owners. I come here primarily because it's convenient.........it is by no means, worth traveling to if it's out of the way. read more

Always fresh and excellent bagels with a wonderful-friendly staff. Anyone who says otherwise just has a stick up their you know what LoL. The food is always good and the coffee is great (not bitter unlike most places). This is my first stop during my early morning commute. P.S. Wow! I am so impressed. I ordered bagels from these guys through Postmates, and I am so impressed and floored by the amazing customer service. I ordered a dozen plain bagels from them, and WOW, the bagels were so fresh. My whole family enjoyed them! This is the best bagel place ever. First off, the staff and costumer service u get here is the best. There is always a man who is trying to kill flies with his electric fly swatter and always provides entertainment. Also, he occasionally whips out the leaf blower inside the building as a way of a "cool breeze". I just love it. They already know my order because I come here everyday and sit at the same table in the same seat with the same people. They understand my Engrish very well. No problems. I have been coming here for about a year. The owners are not friendly, but efficient. They now close at 3:00. Their business is really going down as they are across from the high school and catered to the high school customers. As in person classes are limited, you can see their business sinking. If I were in a business that was failing, I would go out of my way to be good to current customers. This is not how these owners view the world. The older female owner is as rude as can be on the two, and I mean TWO occasions of the TWENTY times per month that I go in there and was late in the past eight weeks. They make $400 a month out of me, and if you literally come in even a minute after 3:00 she will give you a very bad attitude, and is MEAN. Throwing change at you, dirty looks, all of it. It happened once when I came in 4 minutes after 3:00 a few months ago, and I didn't come in for a few weeks. I decided to give them another chance. These are very difficult times, to say the least, and most people are stressed out of their mind. I get it. But that's not an excuse for being abusive to a customer. I came in at 3:08 today, I had a phone meeting that ran a little late. The same owner, gave me a bad attitude, with the "We close at 3:00." She made it look like she had to run out the door, please note the time of the picture that her husband locked up the place. I told her everything I just listed above. That's fine, I'll put the $400 a month in my pocket by scrambling my own eggs. And I told her that as well. The difference between staying in business when they too, on the employment lines is how they treat their customers. I tolerated the bad attitude for the decent service average at best food (there's almost no tuna in your tuna melt and she makes me pay $3 extra for a proper amount of tuna), something tells me they wouldn't be the musicians still playing when the Titanic was sinking. Been coming to Union Bagel regularly for about 6 months now and really have to say its a great little neighborhood spot. The staff behind the counter is always friendly and willing to take my always complicated breakfast sandwich orders. The bagels are fresh and they have plenty of options to suite your craving. Counters and tables are always clean. I think the best part about this place is their coffee - I'm a big snob about my coffee (always drink it black) and this place brews a mean roast, iced coffee is great too! These bagels piss me off, they should not even be considered bagels, since the texture and image does not consist with being an actual bagel. I would come here in high school and always be disappointed with the food they serve here, its just blah and generic, I do not know why people even like it here despite its only good for socializing. I prefer Lynbrook bagels which serve real hand made bagels which actually are bagels and not oversized rolls. When I go there I am always happy, I know its a bit more expensive but it will make your stomach very happy. read more
