You could find something better at another establishment. This is the only reason they didn't get five stars. Product quality has gone way down: Their whole wheat products are not really whole wheat....When cut open u see no whole wheat grains. They seem to be white flour artificially colored dark with areas of white dough where the coloring was not mixed in properly. This presents a health concern if you are sensitive to food coloring....also people choose whole wheat to avoid white flour for nutrition purposes.... so just getting a white flour substitute is shameful! I have been to order bagel stores, and because I asked for a specialty cream cheese, I have paid over $4.00 for a mini bagel. The service is great. Of al the times I have been here, 1st time I got such a bad attitude from the 2 Indian women who work here. Pedro and most of the staff are great. Then the 2 Indian women were talking about me openly luke if they were High School girls. I come here on a regular basis and I was shocked to get the attitude from them. Wow this is a 1st. Hope it does not continue! It really pained me to put this here. I doubt it will make a difference. 1 example, today, I asked for 2 coffees. I bring a coffee back to a neighbor. I went over to where they keep the ice and plastic cups to see which size, the young Indian person stood by the cash register pouting, I wanted to show her which sizes of iced coffee to make. "OH, I can't figure it out from here she says" with an attitude also. My son told me he will show her and said she was probably in a bad mood. 1 thing I know in retail is not to have a bad attitude with customers. Even when I was paying, she refused to look at me, which is fine. She asked my son for payment, I gave me card, and she was whispering to her other partner. The 2 Indian women were the only ones serving customers since it was after 12 noon. I really enjoy magic bagels, I come 2 to 3x a week. I haven't written a Yelp review in over a year and a half, but I felt the need to hop on here and leave an updated review for Magic Bagels, which has gone down hill a LOT, both in terms of quality and price. For context, we've been coming here for years every Sunday for family breakfast with our parents. Prior to 2020, this place earned a 4 star review from me. The bagels were always fresh, the quality amazing, and the service decent enough for a bagel shop. Over the last year, the quality has gone down hill substantially, so much so that if not for the routine we've developed on Sundays I would have stopped coming here after the first attempt. The bagels are always cold and stale, and the service mixed (in fact on a recent visit I had one employee give me a terrible attitude for literally no reason... I'm always extremely cordial and even leave a tip in the jar every week). Ever since the change in ownership and staff, my goodness has this place been disappointing. We've been coming here for 5-10 years every week, and I've given them way too many chances to improve, but we are officially done with Magic Bagels. Too many bad experiences over the last year with few redeeming qualities. I'm really hoping they'll return to their old standards sometime soon. read more

I like to have a flat bagel. every now and then. I came hear a few weeks back and was able to satisfy that urge and was not disappointed. I love mine with scallion cream cheese. The bagel and cream cheese was fresh and delicious. The only issue I have is that the bagel seemed pricey at 4.75 for one. But perhaps it's been too long. Since I've regularly bought bagels. I thought it was 4.07 the last time I was here, 3 weeks ago. As an aside, on my 2nd visit here, I made an error by going into a store 2 doors down that was a deli, not a bagel place. They don't have the flat bagels and redirected me. Magic Bagels had a line and it grew longer after that checked out. That was a testament to me that they are well regarded in the business. I was in the mood for a bagel and according to yelp this is the place to check out. It wasn't too far from my house so I figured I should give it a gander. Im a fan of the everything bagel and I noticed that they have an assortment of their regular sized bagels then they have mini cinnamon, everything, and plain bagels. I decided to go all in and get their regular sized everything bagel with the lox spread for $3. They were not stingy with the spread at all which I can always appreciate. I've never had the lox spread before but its worth knowing that it is a bit salty so maybe a plain bagel would be good in this case. The bagels are baked on the premises and served fresh and there is a variety to choose from. They even have flat bagels and rainbow bagels! I didn't even order anything. I was going to order some thing and I thought to use the restroom before I order. I don't mind if the seat is up but when the seat bottom looks like it hasn't been scrubbed in a while, layer of poop spray on it and then I go to wash my hands and the soap that falls to the sink is so built up. This bagel shop is A-OK, average at best. I came in this morning (Sunday) for a few bagels for myself and my parents. Prices are low, especially for Long Island: $1.50 for a bagel with cream cheese $1.25 for a bagel with butter The everything bagels were pretty good, standard. But my mom said her cinnamon raisin bagel was the worst she'd ever had. It was small and stale and hard. We don't eat bagels often so I was disappointed that she wasn't satisfied. Sunday morning is prime time so there is no reason for them to be serving subpar bagels; it's not like I went in the afternoon or near closing... Seems like this place may be a hit or miss. Practically 5 stars because they have French Toast bagels that taste just as good if not better than Utopia Bagels. I always got my bagel with cream cheese from here when I was a teenager. The prices used to be good before but now they just inflated everything. Still, their bagels are very delicious.
