Crown Deli is officially reopened as of Sunday, 9/12/2021! They are newly renovated on the outside and inside with a familiar layout. The chefs are largely the same and it was truly welcoming that they remembered me and my wife. Their prices have gone up nominally but that is to be expected given they closed down due to a fire 2 years ago and have remained closed throughout the CoVID-19 pandemic/recovery. The addition of free WiFi is nice and their menu is now on digital displays over the counter. The sandwiches are as good as me and my wife remembered it before the place closed down. It is definitely a local deli that I can always rely on for good deli-food and my go-to for the 20 years I have been living in Valley Stream.

Great place for breakfast! Cash only but very quick service. Unfortunately yesterday the place got burnt down

Crown in the hood... Crown so good. I love this deli. Not just because they have everything and anything... You could basically ask for anything you heart (stomach) desires... A Monterey Jack and chedder grilled cheese with red peppers and bacons was my brilliant eat of the day. Crown has no "ums" or "buts", they just do their best to cook the meal you want most. Perfect for breakfast and lunch.

Good for quick breakfast sandwiches. I've come here many times for a BEC and they're pretty on point. There are certain days where it gets incredibly crowded in there but that's usually a sign of good food in a small restaurant. They don't accent cards but there's an atm inside.

This was once the best place in town to get a breakfast sandwich, as they used to put an amazingly generous portion of bacon on you bacon and egg or bacon egg and cheese sandwich. But, alas, they seemed to have given in to the constraints of the harsh economy and are now only putting the usual amount. Its still a good Deli, just not anything outstanding about it anymore. But if you're in the area and looking for deli food, you can get good service and food here.

The menu!

I do not understand all of the hype this deli receives with its rave reviews. I'm the typical New York girl that loves her breakfast sandwiches and bagels with cream cheese in the morning but this place did not meet my expectations. Everything from start to finish was pretty bad. Number one it's a cash only deli, they only had one person on grill on a very busy Friday morning, the line was almost out the door so I waited 35 minutes for a very subpar sandwich and the quality of the sandwich was very poor. The bacon were scraps that had a very chewy texture. The eggs tasted dirty and the roll was far from fresh. The sandwich was just wrong. I will not be returning.

Just okay, nothing really special about this place. Ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a roll. Bacon was extremely salty and over done to the point where it was crumbling apart and falling out of the sandwich every time I took a bite. Personally I have had better. Good for a quick meal but if I had a better option, I probably wouldn't eat here.

A delicious bacon egg and cheese

Friendly and hardworking people there. I like the atmosphere. I recommend their sandwiches, but not pizza.

The…read morerestaurant really set the tone with their table setup--it felt elegant and thoughtfully arranged, and we had plenty of space to sit, chat, and enjoy each other's company. They even had a lovely bread spread to start, with a variety of fresh options and butter that everyone kept going back to. The menu had something for everyone, which I really appreciated. I ordered the seafood vodka pasta (no pork), and it was packed with flavor--definitely a standout for me. I also had a fresh salad that complemented everything nicely. The staff was incredibly accommodating, especially with dietary needs in our group, including gluten-free, vegetarian, and even kid-friendly options. The ambiance deserves a special mention--the interior is absolutely stunning and really elevates the whole dining experience. The only downside was a bit of confusion when it came time to split the bill. Since we had a larger group and some paid cash, it got a little tricky and took longer than expected. Given that we booked in advance, smoother coordination would've been ideal. That said, I truly had a wonderful time and would definitely come back again!

Via Cuma - Sourdough Pizza & Cucina

I'm driving back from Maryland and I planned to stop at Via Cuma for lunch…read more I understand Via Cuma is a not by the slice pizza shop, it's more authentic with a personal size pizza. I parked across the street (make sure you feed the parking meter) and walked inside. I'm assuming it was the owner, I said I'm so hungry and was asked to grab any open table. The restaurant is cozy with multiple tables which can be adjusted to fit a large or small party. The owner comes over with an iPad, I just want a glass of wine with lunch. No bueno, I don't think they have a liquor license. I ordered a coke instead. This word is tripping me up, I know it's devilish, Diavola? I make the sign of the cross as I order this pizza. The owner explains this is his favorite pizza, I can see why. The Diavola Pizza is made with San Marzano Tomato Sauce, Hot Soppressata Salame from Calabria and topped with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese along with a drizzle of Olive Oil. This is a pizza that's more heavenly than devilish. There's some heat coming from various ingredients but it's welcomed. The sourdough is something that's interesting, I had this dough in Syosset last week. Is this a new trend? It brought the pizza to another level, there's more complexity with the imported ingredients. I also appreciated the cheese, I should have asked if it was made in-house. Via Cuma, great pizza the other day! Thanks for the Italian lesson on pronouncing Diavola

Via Cuma is cozy and well decorated with authentic Italian culture from the wall tiles to the scenic artwork. We decided to order the wings and fritto misto for appetizers. The wings came with a flavorful lemon pepper dipping sauce that had the perfect kick to it. We also got the Capricciosa pie. You can't go wrong with prosciutto and artichoke! Overall it was a great experience. Parking is tough so leave time to find a spot. We are excited for their second location to open.

This was my first time at Queens and I went all in, ordered just about everything on the menu. Tried the oxtail empanadas (my first time ever having oxtail) and they were fire . The jerk Korean fried chicken wings? Easily some of the best wings I've had in a long time. Spot is super clean, well put together, and the lady at the front was mad welcoming and nice. BLACK-OWNED GOURMET PIZZA EXPERIENCE…read more Here, the pizza is more than just food, it's the shining star at the heart of the culinary experience. I know that everyone raves about their elevated topping options, such as Thai chili oxtail, but that's not how they won me over. The litmus test of a pizzeria is based on the quality of their plain slice. Here, the crust is clearly allowed to rise to the occasion prior to being layered with hearty, robust tomato sauce and topped with a generous amount of cheese. Their slice definitely on the cheesier side and I'm definitely not complaining. Of course they are more pricey than your neighbor pizza joint but that's the cost of their superior ingredients. Bring cash is you would like a discount. Pay your money and ENJOY BELOVED!
