There's another deli on every corner in Long Island, but at the northwest corner of Merrick Road & Nieman Ave, there lies a deli that is above all else. The name is Lynbrook Deli & Catering, but it should be "Top 10 Deli in Long Island" I've been in here a couple times now, and they never disappoint. I'm a TEC (turkey egg & cheese) guy, and they make one of the best sandwiches I've had. The bagels are soft but crunchy at the same time, the eggs are made perfect, and the sammy isn't a mess. The lunch is amazing as well. If I could be selfish and have this place only serve me one day, I would... I just want to drop in an give this place 10 stars if I could. My family has been coming here the last 15 years. They have great food, make the best sandwiches and the level of customer service is KICK ASS great. Whomever is doing the hiring must be the worlds greatest interviewer because every person that works here (young & older guys) are just attentive, friendly and engaging. Ron has the magic touch and all I can say is please never lose that level of Customer Service because this is what makes me drive out of my way to come to your place and I am sure lots of people do the same. :) read more

I have been here a few times. I have a client in the area that I stop by every year or two. It is a decent Long Island deli. There is a wide selection of sandwiches and such. There is a got food area. I had a crispy chicken wrap and a snapple. A very Long Island meal. It was fine. I would have it again. I would probably try a different sandwich next time though. The staff was friendly and quickly made the food. Overall, it was fine. Clean and plenty of room to sit. If I was in the area, I would have no problem going there. read more

Had a Dr Apptacross street and went in for a bottled water when finished. The food smelled so good and looked so clean. I ordered a plate of MeatLoaf with Pasta Shells. Absolutely delicious. Planned to split over 2 days. Failed. Ate the whole thing (good portion) on same day. Service - Friendly and efficient. Found a gem. Will return read more

I stopped by this morning to pick up a quick bite. The place was packed which was a good sign. The service is superb, however I was not to pleased with the breakfast sandwich. I ordered egg whites with turkey on whole wheat toast. The bread was very dry and tasted like artificial wheat and the turkey meat was very dry as well. The coffee was good, not great. I'll try their other food items on another visit and will update. read more

Me and my co-workers go to for lunch or breakfast. The food is very delicious and fresh. The people that work there are super friendly and can deal with the rush of people that come in with grace. Everything in the deli looks clean and well maintained. read more

Everyone is sooooo polite and helpful. Honestly customer service was above and beyond. Breakfast sandwiches were delicious too. Took off one star because the eggs were cooked incorrectly that's all. read more

Overall good deli I take issue with disregarding customers requests. I ordered a roast beef hero (for my wife) and asked to have it from the super delicious rare looking roast beef in the case as she prefers. The gentleman then turns around shakes his head and pulls a pack of pre-sliced roast beef out of the case next to the top round to make the hero. The lazy and disregard for customer request is disheartening. Especially from a deli with a good reputation. Side note I also don't like being nickel and dimed adding lettuce tomato to a hero... really guys read more

If you're thinking about opening an eatery, you should definitely visit this place first. Take notes. They've got the perfect combo of having: 1) the right people 2) good quality food 3) systems I called in a take out order, fellow on the phone asked me if I wanted regular or whole wheat wrap. I got there, paid, he gave me a free pickle... feel good stuff. Nice guys, too. Way to go! read more

Here's a review thats short and to the point. This place has the best sandwiches in Nassau County. Hands down.

I kid you not this Deli is like being in Brooklyn in the 1980's. You remember that Deli well I always wondered where it went. I found it in Lyn Brook instead of in Brook Lyn. All kidding aside the food, service and atmosphere is all good, upbeat and positive. Thank for a pleasurable Deli dining experience read more

My wife is currently the Duchess of this deli, and rightfully so! After all the hype, I finally decided to take up her recommendation and pay a visit to the Lynbrook Deli myself. Wow do these guys rocks! Right from the start, here are a few things I love about this place: open 7 days a week, delicious food, plenty of options, very reasonable prices (looking especially at you, breakfast), and (wait for it) DELIVERY! That's right, they'll deliver your order to your door 7 days a week between 8am and 4pm ($20 minimum). Let's get talking about the food itself. One of the signs of a great deli is that glorious Boar's Head logo, and thankfully this place serves your favorite Boar's Head products (turkey, ham, roast beef, provolone, sausage, cheeses, etc.). The signature options on the menu are likewise tempting, with most of these sandwiches falling in the $8-$10 range (including $8.99+tax for a hero consisting of ham, roast beef, turkey, Swiss, American, lettuce, tomato and mayo). Not a bad deal at all! On this visit, I opted for my wife's favorite, the Mayflower Melt, consisting of hot turkey breast, bacon, melted American and mayo on a hero for $8.99+tax. The turkey is very fresh, the bacon cooked just right (not too fatty but not overcooked), and the American cheese melted nicely over the meats. The sandwich is packed and delicious. So good! In addition to your standard sandwiches and salads, Lynbrook Deli also offers a variety of beverages, chips, and sweets. Plus, the store actually has a decent amount of seating if you care to dine in and is kept clean. Staff here is great as well, friendly with quick service. They accept paper or plastic as well with a $5 minimum for credit. Lynbrook might be my new favorite deli in the area. Awesome! read more

Ordered two bacon lettuce and tomato sandwiches one on rye and one on white toast and we're probably the best i ever had.

we catered lunch and dinner for a group of 20 and everything was delicious, beautifully presented and plentiful.

I have been here for both just a sandwich and have done catering here! This is such a great local spot! Service is kind and friendly and even though they're always extremely crowded at lunch time the wait is never too long. Best part also is that if you're in the area they deliver! For catering - my family has used them for events for a few years now and we've never been disappointed. Most recently they catered a backyard party at the end of September. We had about 100 people and got heroes and hot trays of food. We wanted the theme of the party to be a BBQ so we stuck with BBQ chicken and steak, sausage and peppers, grilled vegetables, and Mac n cheese! We also had a nice salad and a few side salads. One fan favorite is the buffalo chicken salad, my family always loves that! We also had a bunch of allergies to worry about having family members who have celiac and are lactose intolerant. We let the deli know and they were beyond accommodating and made sure all the seasonings that were used were gluten free which was what we needed! Everyone loved the food so much there was literally not one thing left. At first I was nervous we hadn't ordered enough but was later told people had gone up for seconds and wanted to make sure nothing was left because it was too good to leave sitting there! For weeks later my guests told me how delicious the food was so that was awesome! Definitely recommend using them for your next event, I know I will! read more

Very disappointed in the chicken cordon blue ! Looks good but very deceiving ! I ordered it on a wrap with lettuce and tomato and honey mustard! The chicken had very little flavor very bland hardly and honey mustard really no cheese ! I hate wasting food so I struggled to finished the wrap ! Not mad just very very disappointed! Need to take more pride in there food read more

The best deli on L.I. Anybody who says otherwise, clearly doesn't know what good food is. Service is amazing and the personalities behind the counter are truly commendable. I can't say enough good things about this place....from the Owners to the staff this is one of the best run deli's on the Island. I come in here at least twice a week and am never disappointed. Ronnie, Kim, and Chris go out of their way to make sure your order is to your liking and coming up with creative suggestions when you aren't sure what you'd like. The hot food and sandwiches are always on point,my favorites are the Buffalo and BBQ chicken tenders, Hunter Chicken, and the Teriyaki Chicken and string beans they usually make on Fridays. The place is spotless and the staff is always the same....that's a testament to the owners as well...they take care of their people and that's why they stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone searching for great food, prices and good service. read more

One of the best delis in existence. In a rush to go to the beach, my family and I stopped for some quick food. This deli is absolutely perfect for turnovers, coffees and drinks of any sort, junk food, and every single sandwich and wrap you can think of. When deciding which size to get, the man giving us the cup said, "Would you like Shmall, Shmedium, or Shlarge?" He laughed and I laughed. It was a great moment. I got Shmedium, by the way. In the Shmedium cup, I got a French Vanilla Coffee, since they remmended it to me. It was delicious. We had a large order and this deli gave us all of our items. They gave us our food hastily and we're very compliant with our order. I ended up leaving with a smile on my face and a delicious taste in my mouth. If in the area, come here for a bite to eat. read more

Ronnie and the crew are great. I eat breakfast here 3 times a week. I always call my order in because it can get busy at times. They definitely have enough staff working. Once i walk in i wait on line and say im here for pickup and i have my order on seconds. Everyone is genuinely nice and friendly. The breakfast is always made fresh to order. If im craving mac and cheese, honey bbq chicken, and steak boy it's some good eating but i may need to take a nap afterward read more

I really wasn't sure what to expect as I used to live in Valley Stream for ten years and had never heard of the place. This is a solid four star deli without a doubt! I'll start with the energy because I am an energy person. Walking into the door there's a friendly energy and vibe here. The management gives it off and it spreads to the customers. The staff is professional and friendly, everyone was in a great mood and attentive despite the packed line. Now let's get to the food . I had the small oatmeal with everything and a breakfast box and I chose the sausage patties. LOVED the oatmeal, which is what held my order back because they were making it in the back....it's real oatmeal without question!! I would leave the nuts out next time but the fruit and oatmeal were a definite yes!!!! The eggs, sausage and potatoes (breakfast box) were definitely a great hit!!!! Great portions potatoes and eggs cooked just the right way! Then came the bonus I had tea instead of coffee and it also comes with a small juice! There's no way you won't be filled and it's not hard on your pockets....I definitely recommend this as a breakfast spot!!! read more

Potato salad was so, so delicious! The staff is friendly and helpful. They always pay attention to what I want, and I'm pleased with my orders. A bit pricey, but it's worth it. The case always looks clean, so that is a plus! read more

So happy that Ronnie from Lawson deli is back in business again He has been my go-to guy for catering, Sunday morning breakfast, beach lunches, and occasional dinners Certainly missed him after Superstorm Sandy did its damage on Lawson Blvd But everything's is as delicious as before: chicken salad, the hugest shrimp salad, and my favorite- the Penn Dutch potato salad. And he also has a green salad with dried cranberries which is quite tasty. And the daily specials are always creative. Also happy to see some of the counter crew from Lawson Deli, too. I go out of my way from RVC to go there. You need to go there, too. read more

Be patient during peak times as there will we a long line and the workers will be beyond busy. They will get to you, I promise. Hopefully by the time you get to the counter you will have decided what you want to eat, because if you're like me the huge selection is intimidating. They have a huge variety of menu items for everyone. My boyfriend one of their wraps off the menu and I got a turkey sandwich. Also working at a deli, I can't critique the sandwich to my best ability, being biased. Though I can't say it wasn't the biggest and best sandwich I've ever had, it was decent. I had a bite of my boyfriends wrap and it was delicious! I think it had taco meat, rice and cheese inside. He enjoyed it and was definitely filled. read more

YUM! I came in for lunch today and got the Combo Wrap, which is grilled chicken, grilled veggies and low-fat honey mustard. This wrap was FULL of flavor. I loved every single bite. The staff were all very welcoming and nice- upbeat and happy, even on a Monday. They talked me into trying their iced coffee, which they claim is the best. I have to admit, it was pretty dang good. I ordered a medium caramel flavored iced, expecting a Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks-sized medium, but what I actually got was basically a bucket of iced coffee... That may be a bit dramatic, but I swear the cup was enormous, and only $3. Can't beat it. My entire meal, including chips, wrap and drink, was about $12. I loved it and will be returning! read more
