Love this place! The bindi heros are the bomb. I usually get it with pepperoni and bacon. Great place to eat late night when everywhere is closed. You will not be disappointed!

A bindy!

Come for the Bindy! Green Deli is your typical Long Island hole-in-the-wall Deli, but that's a good thing! While parking here is tight, the visit is worth the effort to find a spot, although I'd argue that you could find similar sandwiches at other great delis, with one exception of course being the Bindy! So what is this Bindy I keep referring to? It's chicken cutlets, melted mozzarella and crispy bacon served with Russian dressing on a roll or hero (for a definite difference in price, with the hero costing $2 more). While other delis have similar recipes, this place really gets it right. The sandwich is served warm with tender chicken, savory mozzarella, and crispy bacon (as promised). I've tried this sandwich on a number of occasions and have always been impressed, so much so that I visit this Deli strictly for that reason. Others who have ventured here have had similar praises about the other sandwiches this place has to offer. For instance, Joanna L. has been coming here since childhood and was the first to recommend we visit. I was glad she introduced me to this place, which has become my favorite south shore Deli. Prices here are reasonable as far as Deli standards go, with sandwiches costing an average between $5 and $10. I am also pleased whenever I see the "Boars Head" seal on any Deli, which this place serves. In addition to sandwiches, you'll find your standard assortment of beverages and snacks to pair with your roll or hero. Service here is also standard: efficient and friendly enough. A solid 4 stars in my book!

The Bindy Special: Chicken cutlet, bacon, mozzarella, Russian dressing on a roll or hero, your choice.

I'm not a local of the neighborhood but started working around the area doing overnight shifts. Being that I work overnights or anyone that does around here, It's hard to find places that are open 24 hours to find something to munch on. Like the few reviews listed here, you find this place by word of mouth. The first thing asked of is if you've had the bindy. When asked, I replied with, what's that? And then received the biggest "what!? Are you kidding!?" From there we went straight to get one. It's heaven wrapped up waiting to be eaten. ITS SOOO GOOD. Nothing more to say then get one. They have a bunch of other sandwiches/heros to choose from along with many other snack foods to grab. The staff is super friendly! Deff a hidden little gem.

Bindi. Or a part of one. Sorry. I was hungry!

They never answer their phone but when they do the bindi is a great late night sandwich! Never ordered anything else before though.

The Bindy special was created by a very hungry 16 year old who had a massive case of the munchies.

All they had to do is keep the same staff who knew what you wanted and how you liked it. And not change anything. When the gold mine is cranking do nothing except keep it going. When the formula is working, keep it. But no. They had their own ideas, bad work ethic and ruined this once great place. I remember waiting 20 minutes minimum on a Sunday morning. They had 5-6 guys behind the counter and always 12-15 customers waiting. Now on a Sunday morning or any morning, you just walk in and place your order. Never more than three other customers. And now they're down to the short order cook and a young college age kid taking and making the orders. Nice kid but he doesn't know. Maybe trying his best but with this generation the best ain't much and when he cooks your egg sandwich it's hit and mostly miss. Early 2000s this place was a 5. Up until a month or so ago when they still had professional deli guys I'd give it a 2.5. The last couple weeks, I'll be generous and give the place a 1. Part of the recent downfall farther into the abyss of crappy delis, is likely the owner opening up a restaurant in town which no way I'll be trying. He's probably cutting corners there too. 10 bucks for a couple lousy egg sandwiches is one thing. 75 bucks for a couple lousy meals is another. For clarification I have not tried the restaurant and my hope is I am wrong about that.
